What a complete waste of my time. The intake was smooth and straight to the point. The wait wasn't long and I'm sure it's because this doctor does the bare minimum. He literally gave me a first bump and told me what he was prescribing me. He only check my scalped concerns after my inquiry and a potential deeper dive into my issue. He was literally in the room for 3 mins before rushing out to just chat wit his staff. Never asked to see the form or go over any other concerns. To top of it, there were two people behind the desk. They asked me what my pharmacy was , and he clearly stated the scripts would be sent and they'd be ready in the latest a few hours. To no surprise THEY DIDNT EVEN CALL THEM IN!!!! I went Friday and Sunday and nothing was called in. While it may not be an issue for him but my money and time are valuable and from the reviews this is common place for him...not good playing with peoples hard earned money and time. Not a good place to go as a patient. For a black head removal the doctor charged or billed my insurance as surgery. I think that constitutes insurance fraud. Which came to about couple hundred and my deductible was $126. This is for a black head removal on my nose. All doctor would say during his short performance using a balled scalpel like tool is that I could not have done it myself. No further testing or pathology lab work on the black head. I was worried about it since I golf a lot. Just simple technique, using the tool, 2 min of work and he dares to charge as surgery billable item for $500! I did not know black head removal were billable as surgery. Are they? Either case the doctor failed to inform me that it would cost that much to remove a black head. I may have just gone to CVS and by some pore removing strips or etc. I would not go back and I recommend you do not. They are insurance frauds, cheaters and billing and communication records is not well kept either. How do I go about reporting them? I'm sure it's not just my case they have handled wrong. read more

Polite Receptionist, clean reception area and room. RUDE Dr.! No bedside manners. Very cut and dry. He seemed annoyed to have a Patient. Very sarcastic when I pointed one more skin tag - his response was "You couldn't tell me when I was injecting the other area!? I was surprised at his demeaning ways, I told him to disregard and I will make another appointment. He responded "well you are here already!" I visited Soma after receiving a facial at a spa ( the esthetician told me they would be able to stop the puberty outbreaks my face still experiences at 33). She was right! I stopped in two days ago and I am beginning to look like an adult!! All of the craters and mountains that had taken residence on my face have either cleared out or drastically diminished. I had an issue with my insurance covering on of the prescriptions but the staff did a great job contacting whomever wherever to get the issue resolved! I had a wonderful experience here with Dr E. I received Botox after a very thorough discussion and evaluation of my photos. The process was transparent (closed vial, opened in front of me and not diluted) and I appreciated the honesty and recommendations of Dr E. A little more expensive (price per unit) than some of the other practices in the area but I feel like this physician is a skilled injector and more conservative than ones I've been to in the past making it 1000% worth it for me! I visited Soma to deal with about eleven of those grossenating things that men develop at my age -- just weird little nubs that all of a sudden appear on your body and make you feel like your dad. Dr. Ehrenreich did a masterful, painless, quick job of removing them and restoring my original beauty. So that's the main thing. The reason anyone visits a physician is for the medical care. So it goes without saying that I wouldn't award my coveted five-star imprimatur if the plain old treatment i received wasn't excellent. It was. But what makes Soma Skin & Laser special is the lovely atmosphere. Soft, soothing music, dim mellow lights, everyone talks in that nice easy voice that calms you down when you're about to have a razor sharp instrument near your tender bits. I went into Soma for a dermatology issue (rash) with Dr. Ehrenreich. The first visit was just consultation (which I was not aware of) and it lasted less than 10 minutes. I felt like his hand was on the door to leave the entire time. The next few visits were just as short because they were testing me for skin allergies. I will say - They DO go above and beyond with scheduling. My test results did not show anything so Dr. Ehrenreich pinned it on the vague "eczema". They told me to call them if I continued to feel itchy. (Of course I did... there was no treatment at all). I did not feel taken care of, would not recommend, and would not go back. read more

I came here for a dermatological issue my toddler daughter was experiencing. I knew exactly what was happening and shared it with Dr. Michael (forgot how to sleep his last name). Dr. Michael understood the logic in what I suggested but didn't do any testing on my daughter to make sure. He did send a prescription for her to our pharmacy; but I don't feel like the root of the issue plaguing her will be resolved. So that's quite disappointing. He did give me a couple of suggestions and advised me to come back in a few weeks with my daughter. On the other hand, I too was dealing with a dermatological issue that out of the few other dermatologists I went to see, only Dr. Michael figured out and treated accordingly. For years no one else properly diagnosed me but he did. For that I'm extremely grateful. Note that I have visited Soma in the past at least three times and I have dealt with Doctor Ramaswamy. However on Saturday I have the unfortunately luck of dealing with Dr. Michael Ehrenreich on Saturday morning who is the founder of Soma. I have no idea how he was awarded the best kids doctor in 2012, because he has very little patience dealing with my 17 year old sister who was just trying laser for the first time and was honestly fearful of the procedure. He kept rushing her, and insisted that she was wasting his time by being too afraid. He had the bed side manor of a corpse. Completely cold and unfeeling. However I dismissed this and allowed him to perform the procedure. However the next day I notice that not all the hair I paid to have removed were indeed remove, so I called and made a follow up appointment to have the doctor go over the area or least get rid of the hair that was not treated. Granted I have had this procedure three to 4 times in the past and each time the doctor left no hair behind. So when I brought this up he said I was mistaken and that he did a great job. However I did not agree with his response plus he already had an attitude. I really did not want anyone who clearly did not care to hear what I had to say or admit that he did not do a good job the first time around. I refused service from him and decided to have another doctor do the procedure instead. So to make a long story short he decided to dismiss me from his practice stating that I was unprofessional. During our brief encounter I never yelled nor raised my voice at any time during out conversation. I kept it professional at all times. Well I think in all honesty since I was not satisfied with the work I should get my money back. I spent good money only to get lousy service and then when I complained about this I was told to leave the office. This is a review primarily about the customer service; as I was unable to receive any actual treatment, despite three confirmations that this appointment would be a consultation AND treatment. I should have read between the lines (the secretary was incredibly curt while I was trying to book an appointment) and gone elsewhere, but I figured she was just having a bad day. When I arrived for my appointment, I was not greeted by either of the 2 women sitting behind the reception desk (maybe they were both having a bad day again); I was not asked my name or what my appointment was for, but was immediately asked for my drivers license and insurance card. I filled out paperwork for about 5 minutes, waited 5-10 minutes in the waiting room, and then another 5-10 minutes in the examination room. By the time I even saw the doctor, it was about 25 minutes past my scheduled appointment. I met Dr. Ramaswamy for about 3-5 minutes, during which time she stood about 2 feet away to "evaluate" me (maybe she just has a good feel for what she does and doesn't need to get closer), and she then told me I'd need to begin a 2 week pre-treatment regimen and get blood work done. Then, I waited another 5-10 minutes for a prescription and lab information. Uh, seriously? It's a bit odd that I've had the same non-invasive procedure done multiple times elsewhere and no pre-treatment or blood work were required. I understand that you're a doctor and need to be thorough (read: cover your butt), and that's totally legitimate. BUT maybe teach your staff not to confirm multiple times with a patient that an appointment will be for a consultation AND initial treatment. I spent almost 2 hours for a very short visit with a doctor who basically only told me to go to a drug store. Soma is not the only game in town, and customer service is really what differentiates one outfit from another. The front desk staff are noticeably unpleasant, but I'm sure the doctors themselves are great (just don't let the front desk put you in a bad mood before you even meet one of them). read more

While the atmosphere is very nice and the services are fine, the service is consistently inconsistent. When I booked my first appointment, I left work early and had my nanny stay late only to get there and find that the woman who booked the appointment never told me about some pre-treatment care which meant I could not go forward with the appointment. Another time I left early and had the nanny stay only to get there and have them tell me they had made a mistake at my last appointment and my package was used up - no remaining appointments. Hearing "we are very sorry" repeatedly really doesn't help. read more

I took my teen daughter to SOMA Skin and Laser to find some help for a monster case of acne. It was so bad that she was being teased in school. We had tried another dermatologist before that, and all we got were some face wipes and a request to return at some point. Totally different experience with Dr. Ehrenreich -- he took time to talk to my daughter about her situation and her options, put her on a regimen with cleanser and lotion, and when she needed more treatment he offered us the additional treatment options of acne surgery and light therapy, along with a low dose antibiotic. Sure, those additional treatments are not free -- but they work! We just took family photos and my daughter looked great, no retouching needed. I normally don't post negative reviews, but I feel I need to forwarn people. This place took my money and did absolutely nothing for my situation. When I refused to continue any more services, there was a small balance due owed by the insurance company, which I was hoping they'd waive, but when I refused to pay it, they had the audacity to put a judgment against me and garnish my hudband's pay check. After tacking on court fees, we ended up paying 3x more then we owed on the small remaining balance. By no means am I trying to get back at them. We did in fact owe the bal, but it was the way they went about it, especially since they promised results and took our money for 8 months, knowing they couldn't be helpful to my situation. Really quite pleased with this place! The staff was friendly and, most importantly, they have free coffee in the waiting room, and bottled water. No one tried to push products on me and the doctor was friendly and very professional. I had to bring both my kids with me to a follow up appointment and the doc was nice to the kids and nobody acted annoyed to have kids in the office which is a huge relief for a mom with two young kids! I'm very happy with the results of my treatment and will definitely go back to SOMA for any skincare-related stuff. read more

I recently had a small surgical procedure performed by Dr. Ehrenreich. From start to finish my experience was great. I got a text reminding me of my appointment the day before and was greeted by a helpful and lovely receptionist when I arrived at his beautiful office. I was not kept waiting (which is unusual these days for a doctors office!) Dr. Ehrenreich explained the entire procedure to me in a way that I could understand and had a very kind and calming demeanor keeping me reassured during the entire procedure. I got detailed post-procedure care instructions and a follow-up call the next day to check in to see how I was doing. I recommend Dr. Ehrenreich 100%. read more

Dr. Ehrenreich was incredible. I had been to 4 different dermatologist and/or podiatrists over the course of 3 years in order to get rid of a plantars wart on my foot. With the previous unsuccessful doctors, one tried injecting a form of cancer treatment, another tried freezing, burning, cutting out, another tried laser, ugh! Dr. Ehrenreich was extremely knowledgeable and when he mentioned he would get rid of it with laser I told him that had been tried before. He made exact arguments for why his method was likely to be successful. After four sessions I am happy say I am plantar wart free. I cannot thank the SOMA team enough for putting up with me during these treatments because I am sure I was a pain in the butt and cannot say enough about Dr. Ehrenreich. A couple more notes: he was always timely for the appointments, very clean office, and they are in good location. read more

I'm giving Soma a three star for right now because this was my first session and I don't want the excitement of finally getting something done overwhelm me. I know results aren't promised but I have a feeling this place is all about getting the money, trust me I would know and I don't blame them. I do plan on continuing my sessions but I also will stop if there's no progression.The overall atmosphere was great everyone was very helpful and kind. I went in for a consultation on tattoo removal hoping they could start today and they were able to. The process was very fast, seconds fast. Everyone's tolerance for pain is different me personally I had to sing in my head to get my mind off the pain so yes it was painful. If all goes well and even if it doesn't I will make sure to leave another review/check in on how things are going with pictures of my irresponsible tattoos before and after for this particular location. By the way the pricing was very reasonable my tattoos are small one on my ring finger and the other on the side of my left neck. I was charged for the price of one $99/session, I was told I would need about 15 sessions but it all depends on the inks resistance. I hope this and future reviews are helpful to someone. read more

We went here for a skin issue for my daughter and this place does not want to talk to you unless you give them your credit/debit card! And even though they say they participate in your medical plan, they want to bill you first! Since I did not want to risk my debit card being charged, then have to fight with my HMO to submit the charges we walked right out the door. I have had several good visits with Dr. Enrenreich and his staff. He treated me for shingles and saw me two-three times, always fitting me in on the same day because of the seriousness of the condition. His staff fit my children in on the same day when they were suffering from a mysterious rash. Another time I saw him with my own mysterious rash. When it would not go away and was getting worse, I emailed him after the office was closed. He emailed back within 10 minutes and had already sent a prescription to my pharmacy to help me. I was very disappointed with my experience and feel that I was disrespected. I made an appointment and I was sent a text message confirming the appointment. I had to rearrange my work schedule to go to the appointment. When I arrived they told me that they did not have a record of my appointment. I had to show them the message they sent me the day before confirming the appointment. After a half hour wait, they brought me in to see the doctor. They took a photograph of my tattoo, and after that an assistant came and said that it could not be completely removed because of the color. I asked to speak to the doctor since she was just the assistant. She told me that the doctor could not see me because I was wearing perfume and the doctor had asthma. If perfume is an issue, then I should have told me before the appointment. What I was most amazed about was that the assistant wanted to do the tattoo removal procedure and not the doctor. She stated that she worked there for many years and had experience. I wanted the dermatologist and this expertise, not his assistant. They wanted to rush me and not take the time to provide the doctor that I requested. read more

I looked up Dr. Michael Ehrenreich on health grades and based on the so great reviews I went to see him. After seeing him twice I found that the review and the real person are far apart. He barely spends time with patients and explains them anything. All the work is done by the associates. His office is too neat and clean and high tech but if you are going there to see a Doctor then I guess the main thing which matters is the knowledge of the Doctor and how he treats you, i was totally disappointed and felt that all the reviews are rigged up in all the websites. read more

I had an extremely positive experience at SOMA skin and laser. I was struggling with acne scars, and I came in for a laser treatment to remove the scars. Not only was I pleased with the results, as my scars became barely visible, but I was so impressed with the dedication of Dr. Ehrenreich. He followed up with me multiple times over the course of the following two weeks to ask me how my skin was healing and how I liked the results. He becomes truly invested in the well-being of his patients. His office is beautiful, modern, and clean, and his staff is friendly and helpful. My husband went to SOMA for laser treatment for his neck and throat area. His skin is really sensitive so he had some reservations about having treatments. He decided to go for it and we were thrilled with the results!! Dr. Ehrenreich was so friendly and patient and made the whole process easy. Visited today to see about starting a tattoo removal process. Luckily, once I got there, I was also able to have a skin-cancer screening. The receptionist was very lovely, the medical assistant was also very nice. It was nice that the Dr did the laser himself (and not some technologist). I didn't have any upsells about other procedures. Since today was just the start of the tat removal, not sure how it will go, but the office and equipment seemed new so that is a major bonus.
