He literally gave me a first bump and told me what he was prescribing me. He only check my scalped concerns after my inquiry and a potential deeper dive into my issue. He was literally in the room for 3 mins before rushing out to just chat wit his staff. Never asked to see the form or go over any other concerns. To top of it, there were two people behind the desk. They asked me what my pharmacy was , and he clearly stated the scripts would be sent and they'd be ready in the latest a few hours. To no surprise THEY DIDNT EVEN CALL THEM IN!!!! I went Friday and Sunday and nothing was called in. While it may not be an issue for him but my money and time are valuable and from the reviews this is common place for him...not good playing with peoples hard earned money and time. I've had some recent concerns and called the office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Downie as she had closer availability. I received TWO text message confirmations for my appointment prior to and one email confirmation ( all attached below). I arrived to my appointment today and was told they " couldn't find my appointment", that I could be seen however there were 6 people ahead of me which would result in over an hour and a half wait before I was seen. I expressed to the office that while I anticipated a wait, 1.5 hours was well beyond an acceptable wait time. I am an understanding person and have no problem waiting 30 minutes beyond my appointment time, even 45 minutes if there is an emergency however, 1.5 hours is nothing but a reflection of poor office management. Additionally, as my appointment was confirmed but somehow not coming up in the system, I asked for reasonable accommodations from the office. I did everything correct as a patient : I confined my appointment, I arrived early to my appointment and remained respectful in communicating my concerns. I requested, as the error was on the office and not myself, to be seen later today at 3:30. Again, reasonable accommodation request considering I showed the office proof that my appointment was confined by their system. The only options provided to me were to see Megan on another day and time or to see Dr. Downie during her next open appointment which was at 5:00 pm today. When I expressed that 5pm didn't not work as I needed to head to work that time, I was offered to come at my requested 3:30pm time and wait 1.5 hours to be seen... so still 5:00pm. Very unprofessional and quite frankly rude. I'm not sure about this office, but I'm sure in business and healthcare, when a error is made by the practice, it is then their responsibility to fix the error without additional inconvenience to the patron. Late appointments are cancelled and cancelled appointments result in a $100 fee so there is a communicated expectation of respecting the doctors time, however this same expectation of respect for time is not given to patients. I gave this dermatologist office two stars purely for Megan, however this practice has lost me and my future additional referrals as a client.

For example, when I first called, I was told I was the number three caller. I waited quite a while, and when my call was finally picked up, I was transferred to voicemail, which seemed strange after waiting on hold for so long. I eventually reached someone and scheduled an appointment. A couple of days before the appointment, however, I was notified that the provider would not be there and that I needed to reschedule. I wasn't given an extension or direct number for the person who called me, just the main number. When I called back, I again waited on hold and was eventually transferred to voicemail. Someone later returned my call and left a message, and the same process started over again. After a couple more cycles of missed calls, waiting on hold, and being sent to voicemail, I finally gave up and decided to find another dermatology practice. I can't comment on the quality of the medical care because I never got that far, but the communication and scheduling process made it unnecessarily difficult to become a patient.

After that has been established, I look for a doctor that I can relate to. Is he/she genuine and caring? I have found my ideal dermatologist in Dr. Cheryl Citron. I had an appointment with Dr. Citron about a month ago and I was treated to one of the best doctor/patient experiences in my over 50 years. Even though her office was busy, Dr. Citron took the time to meet me, understand my medical problem and concerns and treated my condition with much success. I have just made another appointment with Dr. Citron for a full body exam. She is the best dermatologist in her own private practice, not a group factory/mill that so many doctors have joined. You will receive personal, private medical attention that you will never get in one of those large group practices.
