I went with my tween so she could get sized for her first grown up style bras. Miss Erica and Miss Jackie were incredibly professional and very helpful. They listened to her concerns and style needs and took her desires very seriously. She left feeling very empowered and very confident that if she had any more questions about bras or what type of shirts go with what kind of bras she knew someone to ask who could help her out. I especially appreciate it that they respected her privacy, making sure to ask before going into the changing room and making sure to ask before touching her for sizing. I also really appreciate it that Miss Jackie was so informed about the sales. I had a great experience today with Jackie at Soma store #5207 in Lakeside Mall, New Orleans! I had ordered four different bras in advance to pick up there, but wanted to try them on before leaving the store so that I could be sure of the fits. She very cheerfully and skillfully helped me find the right sizes in all the bras that interested me, despite the fact that the sales had already been made prior to my arrival. She was such a big help that I decided to buy a fifth bra so that she would get credit for at least one of the sales. I went to Soma for a new set of bras yesterday- which is never fun. But right when I walked in and an associate named Lindsey made eye contact with me and it's as if she knew exactly what I needed. She (extremely fast) measured me, hooked me up with three new bras, and had me leaving with a smile. I had visited another bra store earlier that day and was super disappointed and left bummed out empty handed. I should have came here first. Before I get started: GENTLEMEN: There is a note for you at the bottom, so go ahead and skip the girly stuff, but I got ya covered at the end. LADIES: Good news! Bra shopping doesn't have to suck anymore!!! True story. I have been eyeballing Soma for a while now during our visits to the Lakeside mall. Every time I passed it I'd think, "Man, I really need to get a fitting and replace some old stuff." I was in the middle of this ritual when I grabbed my sweet sweet husband by the hand and said, "I'm sorry baby, but I need to do this," and dragged him into the store. Soma is a very clean, quiet, and organized store that is warm and comfortable, making you forget your in a mall trying on undergarments while hundreds of strangers are passing by. I do not get this private and cozy experience at any other business that offers intimates apparel. I was immediately greeted by CK and her sweet smile. I asked if anyone was available for a fitting and CK was super ready with a confident, "I've got you." She did a quick explanation of all the styles, seeking out my preferences. As I browsed the styles, I was grateful to see that everything was arranged by size, so it's very easy if you prefer to browse without a consultant. Don't panic if you don't see your size. Just ask for help as they provide a great variety of sizes that just won't all fit on the floor. As it has been a long time since I have done any proper shopping, I asked if I can just try a little of everything. CK was totally up for it. I was taken to the fitting rooms, which are also lovely and comfortable. The space is very roomy, allowing CK to stand in the room with me without feeling crammed. The lighting was also nice, warm, soft, and inviting, instead of the typical harsh lighting casting the freaky unflattering shadows. Lots of hanging options and a bench are in the room to keep your garments and belongings organized and off the floor. There was a chair for hubby that was located in the fitting room's common space, so he didn't have to be in the room with me, but it kept him close enough that I didn't have to go out to the store half nekked to find him. While the location of his waiting was convenient for me, it was uncomfortable for him. The staff, however, were very kind to him and gave him kudos being a good and patient man. Poor guy had to wait an hour, so I'm sure a cozier chair would have been appreciated. Fitting: CK's knowledge, experience, and warm personality made me feel safe and confident in this vulnerable situation. She communicated clearly what we were going to do and why. I was asked what size I have been wearing (a size that was provided to me years ago at a non-Soma fitting), CK's results were quite different. She hurried off for a moment and returned with her hands full of options. As she hung each bra onto the hooks, CK explained it's features and benefits. Before I was left alone, CK explained to let her know if I liked a bra and she'd take a look to make sure the fit was perfect. If I didn't like it, just move on to the next one. I loved that she didn't push to see & sell me on every option. Fitting appointments are not necessary, but I would highly recommend making one with CK. The first choice I tried on fit PERFECTLY, so I knew CK had my size on the mark. Shopping with CK felt like shopping with someone I love, she was very easy to talk to and be honest with. I actually had fun! We breezed through many styles and easily filled the "yes" and "no" hooks. Styles: I have seen the other comments about not having enough styles. I think the store has a great assortment of basic styles, so no one would leave the store empty-handed. I feel like now that we have a good profile of how those basics fit me, CK would have some great advice on ordering from their vast online assortment, should I seek something different. ---OKAY GUYS, IT'S SAFE TO LOOK NOW-- When it came time to check out, I did give some information to create a profile. I am totally cool with this because every item I purchased was recorded- style, size, color. This makes it a breeze when it comes time to add/replace. This also made my husband happy because now he has a very easy go-to gift. He can just call up the store, they'll pull up my profile and have the perfect piece ready for him to pick up. WIN! Price: Very fair. Everyday basics range is from $40 to $60, while the higher-end/special-occasion styles ranges from $60 to $80. My everyday basics purchase included some regular-priced items and a "buy one, get one 50% off" deal. My total averaged out to about $40/bra (pre-tax). Considering I've paid more than double for something that didn't fit as well, I'd consider it a steal. Soma and CK have won me over as a customer for life. read more

I'm usually very picky when it comes to getting a bra and I literally tried on half of the store haha Quality and price are great! Wish you guys had more styles and colors though. I had just about given up on my search for shapewear, after an exhaustive run through Macy's (no help from staff), Dillard's (very helpful but too expensive) and JCPenney (a circus, and ripped items hanging on the racks). Then I turned down a hallway at Lakeside I rarely ventured and just happened to spot this store. Susan, my consultant, was enthusiastic, helpful, and while still training for her new job, just as encouraging and sympathetic as you want someone to be who is handing you undergarments. The selection is not huge, but of great quality and fair prices. I found exactly the pieces I was seeking in an efficient and pleasant environment. I only gave 4 stars because I do not like to have to give all my contact information at checkout, but being that Susan was learning the system, I didn't want her to miss out on a training experience. The other saleswoman there at the time was also friendly and patient. I highly recommend this location for bra fitting and intimate apparel shopping, just in time for Valentine's Day! read more
