I recently visited Soma at Coconut Point in Estero, FL, and I must say that my experience was highly disappointing. As a person of color and a woman, I entered the store only to be completely ignored and not even acknowledged or greeted by any of the staff present. What made matters worse was noticing that other women who arrived after me were promptly greeted and offered assistance.
One specific incident left a lasting negative impression on me. I was standing near the register, browsing through the pajamas section, and the cashier was only a few feet away from me. Astonishingly, she never looked up or made any attempt to offer any form of assistance. It was clear that I was being disregarded and overlooked.
Customer service is of utmost importance in any establishment, and sadly, Soma fell incredibly short in this aspect during my visit. No customer should ever feel invisible or undervalued based on their race, gender, or appearance. The lack of equal attention and respect that I received is not acceptable, and it is disheartening to have experienced such behavior in today's world.
It is my heartfelt wish that Soma takes these concerns seriously and takes immediate action to address them. Inclusion and equality should be fundamental aspects of customer service, and it is crucial for every customer to be treated with respect and attentiveness. Sadly, this was not my experience at Soma, and it truly tarnished my perception of this particular location.
