Their prices are in line with other pharmacies, and considering the free delivery and other services, I feel they are an excellent value. Then, I decided to get my friend a birthday card, her favorite candy, and a Starbucks giftcard. The young lady checking me out was friendly and nice, but I told her I wanted a $10 Starbucks giftcard. She proceeded to ring me up and repeated to me that it was a $10 giftcard. I walked out to my car and just happen to look at my checking account and questioned how I just spent $50+ ?? I checked my receipt and realized that the girl charged me $40 for the Starbucks card. I literally walked back in to the cashier, never left the parking lot, and told her that she gave me a giftcard for $40 instead of $10. She apologized and tried to give me a refund or switch out the cards. She tells me that these giftcards are non-refundable!!!! Then she called the manager over to help her do the refund and she said the same thing that it was non-refundable and the young lady should have told me that. I told the manager, that could hardly speak English and was hard to understand, that the other girl never said anything about the giftcard being non-refundable nor was there any sign by the giftcards saying non-refundable, and nothing is on the receipt!! I become infuriated because they just keep saying that it can't be returned and I need to call the phone number on the back of the card! I literally walked out to my car and back inside and the sales clerk should have told me it was non-refundable, and she should have realized that the card was for $40 instead of $10 and that my total at the end was $50+ and I just had a card and candy. So now I have to pay for the mistake that your sales clerk made! I told both of them just to return everything and I would never shop there again due to the horrible customer service and rudeness of the manager. She was laughing at me when she saw how mad I was and just kept saying" I cannot return, no return on these cards" she said she would call the 800 number on the back of the Starbucks card...by this time I am furious! Again, why am I the one being penalized for a mistake her cashier made!! I told the people in line behind me that apparently they don't return gift cards even though it was not my fault and walked to my car and back inside after realizing I was overcharged. The kind lady behind me walked back in 5 minutes later with $40 cash and said she would just buy the Starbucks card from me. If it wasn't for the kind lady I would have left there with a $40 giftcard, that I never wanted, and did not need all because they made a mistake and never told be anything about not being able to return the card or issue me another card. The manager was not nice at all and laughed in my face when she saw how mad I was!! She was rude, could hardly speak English, and was not helpful at all!!! She never even apologized for their mistake! I will never shop at this Walgreens again!!!! NEVER and will even be transferring my prescriptions to another location!!!

It was just what the doctor had ordered, and I didn't have to split pills and worry if I should have. And, to think I almost didn't go here because I'd sized them up as an overpriced, small town shop. You can pay less, and you can guess at what you need at the big box stores, but there is a value in knowledge and service. As far as pricing goes, I've actually priced the identical products at a holistic pharmacy chain in Austin and found I would've wasted the dollar or so savings in gas alone. Although I don't have any experience with their pharmacy, I understand they compound prescriptions. Last time I tried doing that with their three letter competitor, I got lost in the shuffle somewhere in San Antonio and wound up waiting 5 days for my medication. Worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. My partner forgot his inhaler at home and so we called in…read moreadvance to see if they have the over the counter asthma inhaler available. The person on the phone (who we found out was actually the manager surprisingly) told us that if they had it, it would be on aisle 11. We kindly ask the person to immediately go and check to see if they had such inhaler because the situation was becoming worse for my partner and he needed an inhaler asap. We then got hung up on. When we arrived at the store, I asked to speak to the manager and that's when I found out that was the person who I talked to on the phone. I told him that a pharmacy who provides people with medical assistance needs to be able to tell someone if they have something that is needed asap in their inventory. He stared at me blankly, while his partner associate laughed at me. I am appalled that someone could laugh at a medical situation like this and not have any compassion for what my partner was currently experiencing. We are now rushing 15 minutes home because this pharmacy did not have the inhaler and we wasted time by stopping. Will never ever go there again and I don't suggest anyone else go there either. The staff obviously does not care about their customers.

I was running out and stopped by the pharmacy to see if they had anymore that I could buy since it helped me remember them during the grieving process. They didn't have any at the store saying they no longer carried that lip balm and offered me an alternative but when I told them I was looking for that particular one since it reminded me of my departed parents, several staff asked me to wait and they went into their warehouse to see if they could find me any remainders. Luckily they found a few and wouldn't take any compensation for them. You are lucky to have a store like that in Austin with such compassionate staff.
