My depression got so bad that I would tell my husband and kids not to include me in their weekend plans anymore. And I live that way for many years (I'm only 34)....until I met McCall. My TSH levels were at a 19! No wonder why I was suicidal and tired 24/7. I tried to control my Bipolar symptoms for years without success. I tried medication and therapy but nothing seemed to help. I call her Double Mac, and as you can see from her picture, she clearly does not eat them b/c she's beautiful - outside AND inside. To explain how I feel about Double Mac I have to get personal, hopefully you'll be ok with this and not judgmental... Over a year ago I began struggling with my worst bout of depression I had ever experienced and I had no idea what to do or where to go. No psychiatrist's office was accepting my form of insurance and I could not afford $200+ and hour to see a psychiatrist. So, I had my name on waiting lists hoping one of them would start accepting my insurance in the mean time and call me back. Dr. Vache's office was one of those places, she had incredibly kind people who worked for her and saw that I had called several times in a span of 5 months. The front desk staff would call to check on me since they knew I was not receiving treatment. It was during one of these calls that they realized I was not aware that McCall worked for them (at the time, she is now on her own) and could see me at a reduced rate of what the Doctor could. I will not lie, I was hesitant. But, I had been on wait lists all around Austin trying to find a good and reputable place that took my insurance for too long. I was physically and emotionally worn out from white-knuckling through each and every day for the past 5 or more months. I thought McCall was a student in training or something, but of course I couldn't have been more wrong. McCall has excellent credentials, has years of experience, and truly listens to what you say you feel is happening and what you hope to accomplish. She did not give me any medicine until we ran some tests. She helped me find a place that would run the tests and accept my insurance - EEGs are pricey on their own. While we waited on test results, she encouraged me to try some major changes in my diet and she was 100% right - it was a huge help. Just changing my diet helped how I felt in major ways. She continually encourages me to stay away from some medicines and approves others. We do a lot of work with diet, exercise, vitamins/supplements, and then incredibly low doses of medicine. Note: Obviously if she felt I needed stronger doses or I felt I needed stronger doses of a medicine, she would work with me on that. HOWEVER, she knows my goals, she keeps my goals in mind, and she works with me on ways to achieve those goals. Now, while I still struggle with depression and anxiety (I have for over 10 years) for the first time in a very long time I feel like I have someone in my corner medically who understands what is going on with me not only physically, but mentally as well. I have started feeling so much better, she helped me find a therapist who I love and trust. Without her I have no idea where I would be, truly. She cares for me, as I am sure she does for all her patients, and I recommend without hesitation that you give her call.

My employer recently changed insurance carriers and, as you can probably guess, the new carrier refused to cover one of my needed medications. Dr. Sunny and her assistant, Bianca, worked tirelessly to help me negotiate with my insurance company. I saw Dr. Scumpia because hypothyroidism runs in both sides of my immediate family; my siblings inherited it, and I've been having symptoms. Lo and behold, her blood tests showed my TSH is elevated. I came in for a second appointment and she said my bloodwork looked fine, so I noted "I saw that my TSH is higher than it should be for a woman my age." She looked at me and smiled like I said something funny, and told me I'm not diagnosable unless it's 7 or above. I said "my information is from someone who was in the medical field," and she immediately snapped back "well then you can go talk to them." She then tried to tell me that my symptoms aren't from my thyroid and that I don't have a hormonal imbalance, which is false because I have recent bloodwork showing hormonal imbalance. I brought this up and she said "well you refused my treatment for obesity", which was completely unrelated to what we were talking about. Side note here: if you're remotely overweight she will bring it up multiple times. I declined scheduling a next appointment and she seemed confused and asked me twice why I was "so upset" despite calmly holding my ground. Maybe she's a good doctor if you keep your mouth shut and don't ask any questions about your treatment, but I'm not that kind of woman. If you disagree from a professional standpoint, that's normal, but a patient shouldn't be spoken to like they're stupid and don't know the first thing about their own body and family history.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I have been dealing with Bridget Brady and her billing department for seven…read moremonths. They incorrectly billed my insurance using the wrong EIN number because they are incompetent. My insurance company can see that I never owed, nor do I currently owe them any money. I have had conference calls with them and my insurance to resolve this. They have told me to ignore the invoices but they can't stop them/they won't go to collections. My insurance as of today cannot see any amount that I have ever owed, yet I received a call from a debt collector. I was told by her office during the first call that they have dozens of invoices with the same issue that they're trying to resolve. This call was in January! Think about the lack of attention to detail this SURGEON must have if she can't even make sure her billing is accurate. I have contacted the Texas Health ombudsman's office and can assume that they will help them with their administrative issues. 7/11 Edit: It was confirmed to me today that dozens of people were incorrectly sent to collections by Dr Bridget Brady's office.
