Our initial visit was exactly what my wife and I needed - comprehensive explanation of my wife's condition, complete review of what would be done (including pictures and drawings!), answered all our concerns. We were not hurried through the process. And, the staff was very helpful and friendly. So far, so good. Then, came the surgery. Dr Kroeker came into the pre-op prep room and reviewed what would be done and any risks associated with the surgery. Including a chance for a condition called "hungry bone syndrome." The surgery was perfect and so was recovery. Only one overnight stay. And back home. The next day, my wife developed symptoms of hypocalcemia and Dr Kroeker immediately had us return to the hospital. My wife had hungry bone syndrome. The remedy is constant monitoring and IV calcium and other minerals. My wife's thyroid issue had depleted her bones and they were now sucking up all they found. For the next eight days, Dr Kroeker was in constant contact with the hospital. And, she visited my wife all the time. Throughout this condition and after my wife left the hospital, Dr Kroeker continued to stay in touch via phone, email and text. A couple of years ago I started having issues with my throat, hand tremors, my bone density went down, and I felt like a lump in my throat. I brought it up to Dr. Sunny, who dismissed me twice. I ended up going to my GP who ordered an ultrasound, that revealed two larger masses in my thyroid. I ended up having to have my thyroid removed due to chronic thyroiditis. It had gotten so bad that the gland had started destroying itself and was stuck to nerves and neck muscles. I might still have had my thyroid if Dr. Sunny had listened when I voiced my concerns. They incorrectly billed my insurance using the wrong EIN number because they are incompetent. My insurance company can see that I never owed, nor do I currently owe them any money. I have had conference calls with them and my insurance to resolve this. They have told me to ignore the invoices but they can't stop them/they won't go to collections. My insurance as of today cannot see any amount that I have ever owed, yet I received a call from a debt collector. I was told by her office during the first call that they have dozens of invoices with the same issue that they're trying to resolve. This call was in January! Think about the lack of attention to detail this SURGEON must have if she can't even make sure her billing is accurate. I have contacted the Texas Health ombudsman's office and can assume that they will help them with their administrative issues. 7/11 Edit: It was confirmed to me today that dozens of people were incorrectly sent to collections by Dr Bridget Brady's office.

Dr. Sabra was amazing and has incredible bedside manner! I was diagnosed with a toxic thyroid…read morenodule in 2019 that grew to about 3.5cm diameter. It protruded from my throat and made me very self-conscious. On top of that, it was throwing my thyroid hormones off so I had to be on medication. My nodule continued growing over the course of 2 years and so my endocrinologist advised me that the next step was surgery or radioactive iodine. After researching both options, neither truly seemed like a great option. With surgery, they remove the entire thyroid lobe affected with the nodule, which can kill off the other lobe and/or cause you to be on medication the rest of your life treating for hypothyroidism. Radioactive iodine can kill the entire thyroid, with the same end result of possibly being on medication the rest of your life and lacking your entire thyroid function. I told my endocrinologist I was against both of these options, and that's when she told me there was a new treatment coming out called RFA. She said be patient and do your research, not very many people are doing it yet (at the time). So I bid my time and waited and searched online. I found a few doctors that were reporting completing this procedure in Houston (where I currently live), but none of them had done many cases. I made a virtual appointment with Dr. Sabra and booked with him based on his experience in these cases. My procedure was completed in March 2022. Fast forward to December 2022 and I already have an 85% reduction in volume. My nodule was mixed cystic and solid, and now all of the cystic portion is gone. You can no longer see a bulge in my neck and I have not had to be on thyroid medication since May of this year! Dr. Sabra did a phenomenal job, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone I know in need of this procedure, and in fact, already have!
