I'm trying to be nice here, and these two stars are me being generous…read more My boyfriend purchased a $10 lamp at a thrift store and came home very pleased with his find. I was pleased too, you see, because our apartment lacks overhead light fixtures so it's the more lamps the better as far as I'm concerned. But we soon discovered that the lamp required a strange four-point bulb not easily available. We tried a couple of shops, drew diagrams of what we needed, etc. but each time failed to find the right bulb. Meandering on Broadway one day I stopped into Kits Lighting thinking this specialty lighting shop could solve my problems. I'd finally figured out that I needed a 55W 2D bulb and thought, since I knew the specific name of what I was looking for and wouldn't be drawing more pictures on napkins, I'd be picking one up here in no time. I walked into the store and after a long moment the clerk acknowledged me. I stated that I was looking for a 55W 2D light bulb and he proceeded to carelessly look on a shelf or two and then hold up sample products. None were the bulb I'd asked for. Finally he said he couldn't help me. "Can't you special order it?" I say. "No, try Home Hardware," he replies. Seriously? I went home and Googled the bulb: I can order it online for $16. Shopping local is great, but the big bad Internet wins this one.

The owner tested them in the store to make sure they worked and gave me a deal for two, but when we went home they didn't work - worse, my partner smashed one trying to get it back out of the track (lol not our day). I went back to the store, told him the story and he offered to come over to our place after he closed. The ones we had purchased hadn't worked as we had thought, but he also had brought another model and it worked!!! The best part - he gave us two free of charge/exchange even though we smashed one! Exceptional service and he's retiring in a year, so hurry down ;-)

STAY AWAY !!! NOT HONEST OR REPUTABLE !!…read more Our rear window defroster stopped working on our car. Reputable glass shops regularly repair the connections and/or replace the window when necessary. We called Crystal Glass and spoke to the receptionist Heather and fully explained the situation giving the year, make and model of our car. We asked if Crystal Glass could properly diagnose the problem and give us a free estimate on how much they would charge to repair it. Heather said we would have to bring the car in and one of the technicians would have a look at it and see what it would need to repair. We said we would bring it in and Heather booked an appointment for us for the next morning. We drove both of our cars over to Crystal Glass so that we could leave the one for idiagnostics by one of the technicians. As soon as we got there the receptionist Heather came out and said they would not take the time to check what was wrong and that they would not do the diagnoses and quote we agreed to. Heather is no technician and no tests, no visual inspection of connections and no diagnostics were done. They totally wasted our time and gas for 2 cars to drive to Crystal Glass and back. I poke to Nick (apparently the manager) and all he did was make feeble excuses why they did not do what was necessary to diagnose the problem. Nick then said they would replace the entire rear window, which is likely totally unnecessary, but would not guarantee any of the work. The only way it could be determined IF the whole window needed to be replaced would have been to do the correct diagnostic work we had brought the car in for. DISHONEST AND UNREPUTABLE

Modern furniture, some fantastical, some too delicate to look at! Well made items on the higher end in price and finishing, these pieces will last. Unfortunately while downstairs an over the dining room table light that was basically a lit circle with a long skinny lit rod going through it was about to slip off and luckily my gf was there to help try to put it back but had a hell of a time balancing the darn thing! A very rude salesman came running over and raised his voice at her saying "why would you touch that?!" My poor gf tried in disbelief to explain what was happening but the man was so rude he didn't even apologize! We left in disbelief that an employee would react so unprofessionally! I believe that employees are just as important as the brand or company they represent and this was in no way reflective of the beautiful furnishings inside the store. This is why I'm giving them one star. An apology would have been nice.
