When going to a ski resort, you'd expect food to be a little pricier than normal, and not the same…read morequality as a restaurant...with that in mind, Sierra Pub is a good place to take that mid-day break and grab some bar bites and a beer. Stopped by here with Amy T. during a Tahoe snowboarding trip to Sierra and popped in around lunch time. We were able to order pretty quickly despite it being PACKED (football Sunday...). The folks at the bar were nice - I got a burger, fries, and a local Hazy IPA. The burger was super juicy and I scarfed it down immediately, being hungry from snow activities. Fries were pretty standard, and the beer tasted great. Again, yes it is expensive, and standards were lowered, but for what it is in the snowy conditions, it was a great meal.

If you are at Sierra at Tahoe for the snow you'll probably want to eat, and possibly have a beer…read more There are three spots, the Sierra Pub upstairs at the base, the 360 at the very top, and the cantina at the base of Westbowl. While the 360 is my favorite lunch spot - but it's at the top, so if you stop for a couple drinks, don't get too wild on the way down. The Sierra Pub is my end-of-the-day choice - the food is a bit overpriced ($11 for a decent sandwich), and the drinks about twice ($8 beers). The upsides are, decent beer choices (Little Sumpin' on tap for instance), a great view, and you can end your day there without a final ride down. The food varies. It's often crowded. The staff are great though. The better and more affordable snack shops are downstairs in the lodge, but be aware of crowds and large families.

We were seated quickly by the waitress and served water. It must have been short staffed that day because it took a while to get our drink and food orders in. I'll give benefit of the doubt that it was slow season and staffing might be lean. My wife and I ordered Baja fish tacos and the fish n chips plate, I though the texture and execution of the dishes was spot on, very crispy and appetizing looking dishes, the tacos had cotija cheese on top of the fried fish, diced peppers with pico, and the side was a creative play on street corn (corn, mayo, cheese, spices) served with chips. The only critique I'll give is everything needed more salt, but that's better than being salty. My drinks were amazing, blood orange IPA and the clear water lager (award winning). I had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend!

It has that laid-back, mountain-town kind of energy where you can actually relax, warm up, and settle in. Nothing feels rushed, nothing feels forced, just good people, good smells coming from the kitchen, and that comforting buzz of a place that knows exactly what it is. We went all in on the food and drinks, and it delivered across the board. The beer tasted crisp and fresh like it had a story behind it, and the food matched that same energy. Hearty, satisfying, and exactly what you want after a long day. The burger was juicy and messy in the best way, and everything just felt solid and well thought out without being overcomplicated. What I loved most was how easy it was to enjoy the whole experience. It is the kind of place where you look around and see everyone having a good time, whether they just came off the slopes or are settling in for a long dinner. We walked out full, relaxed, and already saying we would come back next time we are in town.

The wedge salad was fresh and great (I know it's iceberg but it was great!). We got whiskey sours - they were stiff, yet great tasting, not overpowering. We def will be back on our next visit! I will be dreaming of the wings in the meantime. Oh, and we were given a taste of the chef's enchilada soup...heaven! Must try! Thank you guys for the outstanding guest service!

The food was pretty solid overall. We ordered the Cajun shrimp salad, Tavern burger, buffalo cauliflower, and fish and chips. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because the buffalo cauliflower didn't actually taste like buffalo -- it leaned more toward a curry-style spice. It was still good, just not what we were expecting. The fish and chips came with deep-fried salmon, which unfortunately was a bit dry. On the bright side, the fries were SO good -- they tasted like they were fried in beef tallow and reminded us of McDonald's fries in the best way. Overall, a good spot with a nice atmosphere, and I'd definitely be open to trying other items on the menu next time!

Seriously... order it when you come here. The service was amazing and so was the ambiance. We wanted schnitzel and were told they don't serve veal anymore so we got pork. I ordered the Spätzle as well and I regret not getting the full size (ordered the half size). IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I almost licked the bowl clean. Woooowwww... Cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Germany, somewhere high in the mountains…read more I lived in Germany for two years and I've always loved its cuisine that's so similar to the Polish food I grew up on. Schnitzel was a regular guest at our table. The schnitzel here was thin, tender, and fried to a golden crisp without a hint of grease. The rotkohl, German braised red cabbage, was sweet, tart, and gently spiced. I always like tasting items separately, and the only complaint was that the mashed potatoes had cooled, warm only where the schnitzel rested on top. This place is wonderfully authentic. Located right across from Heavenly Mountain Resorts base lodge, and the views are curated for a postcard. I love the rustic charm, alpine interior, and very lively energy. Service was warm and attentive and everyone around us was having a really good time. It's easy to see why this place is so popular and why it deserves to be, it's like a Bavarian hug in the middle of Tahoe.
