    21-year-old, with his tub drink!

Fit in a table of 11 on short notice on Homecoming weekend. Manager personally serviced our table, and was very helpful and attentive. Appetizers were incredible, with a special recommendation for the boudin dip and the hot crawfish dip. Sandwiches were great. I had the crab and Brie grilled cheese, which was very good. They brought out special deserts for our 2 birthday boys. If we ever return to Baton Rouge, SoLou will be in our plans.

    Shrimp corn dog

The service was great, and the food was delicious. I started with the shrimp corn dogs, then the shrimp and grits, followed by cotton candy for dessert. I would highly recommend SoLou.

Despite the bar being busy, it never felt overcrowded or noisy the music and overall atmosphere were just right. I ordered a French 75, which was expertly crafted, along with the chargrilled oysters easily some of the best I've ever had. The real standout, though, was the cedar plank redfish. It was perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and truly the star of the evening. I would go out of my way to return just for that dish. Highly recommend!

Intimate bar area with high top and table seating and just enuff stools alongside the bar itself . After a round we went to the dining room where live piano was playing For entrees we shared the chargrilled oysters. For an appetizer I had the enormous BLT wedge! See the pic..need i say more but I will. Full of all the expensive Accoutrements - Blue crumbles, cherry tomatoes and BACON BITS! Entree was outstanding, the cedar roasted redfish with lemon caper beurre blanc sauce .YUM Mansurs , consistently great food in an attractive upscale environment

They have been featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive In's, and Dives" and have the pictures with Guy Fieri prominently displayed to prove it. The interior is eclectic, which is comforting. While BBQ is the main emphasis here, there are a number of other things on the menu. One of these that's really popular is the seafood stuffed potatoes. These are gigantic baked potatoes that come with shrimp or catfish, with our without crawfish étouffée. Seafood is a definite option here, and one can have it on Friday or any other day. But let's discuss the BBQ. They have smoked turkey that's never dry, and this is great in a sandwich or plate. The smoked wings are another favorite of mine. Then there is the smoked meatloaf, which is great in po-boy form. The ribs and brisket are also very worthy options. I think a two meat plate is a good way to enjoy the BBQ as it allows variety in tasting! Then one has to be pleased by the wide selection of sides. Variety is always great, especially when it includes uncommonly great options like fried green beans, red beans and rice, and Cajun Dirty Rice. One can always get coleslaw and beans if you are a fan of the classics. They even have desserts, if one has any room left for them. I rarely do...
