However, trusting my community, I went to Simon. And it was the best decision. The pricing is fair. The people are so kind and wonderful. The work is done expertly. My car sounded like a freight train when I brought it in, and I drove away several hours later in complete silence. The service is great as are the people. If you need a mechanic, or even an oil change, this is the place. I would not want to go anywhere else. They are great at explaining what the issues are with your car, the work they plan on doing, and explaining why that work needs to be done. They are transparent. They are honest. My car wasn't showing any signs while driving and my family's mechanic of over 20 years also found it a little sketchy. When signs of brake issues did arise 6 months later, I took it to Firestone on Prospect Ave who fixed it for a quarter of the price and I've had no issues since. Maybe Terry's was being truthful about the issues, but if so, it felt way overcharged and pressured to get it fixed sooner than necessary.

They NEVER called to inform my on the progress of repairs, they NEVER returned any of my calls. After over an additional 11 weeks, finally one of the women that work there took my call, she said that nobody had actually worked on the vehicle, they simply took the front end apart to have a technician look at it but, that would not happen for another week, maybe longer, the owner was on vacation and work could not begin without him because he is the one that decides what needs to be done. Needless to say, I had the vehicle towed to a more reputable repair shop. Ever since Bill retired and left his business to his inept son, the shop is a joke. Even the woman that I spoke with stated that she doesn't understand how the York Auto Body stays in business. Run as far away from this horrible business. I'm disappointed. I've been to this repair shop multiple times for both my car and my mother's car…read more I thought they did pretty good work, compared to other places I'd been in the past. However, recently my mothers car hadn't been locking. Mike previously thought it could be the lock actuator causing the issue but we hadn't taken it in to get checked so he wasn't 100% sure. He replaced the lock actuator in one of the doors but this ultimately did not fix the issue. When we took the car back and inquired about the issue not being fixed, he claimed that the behavior the car was displaying was standard, based on manufacturer design. However, the car never displayed these issues in functionality prior to the actuator being broken and subsequently fixed. Long story, short, they claimed to fix the issue without fully fixing it. I gave 3 stars instead of one because I generally haven't had issues in the past and have been pretty satisfied with the work this shop provides. I'd probably still take my car back, simply because it's hard to find good auto service.
