DO NOT MOVE HERE! AVOID SOLOMON & GREYSTAR PROPERTIES!
Today is the 7th time in the last MONTH maintenance has demanded emergency entry to our unit due to issues resulting from the well documented egregious build quality.
Today I was asked to get out of the shower for the 2nd time in a week. Last week I had to get out because we were told it was leaking into the unit below us, which are what entries 3 - 7 were related to. Maintenance told us it was a result of the holes in the shower caulking, which was shared with management when we moved in a year ago but never tended to until now, so I'm not surprised when maintenance realized the next day that wasn't actually the issue. They then came in a few additional times running different water tests, but despite this, could not provide answers to what the issue was, but did give us the okay to start using the shower again. Fast forward a few days to today and I had to get out of the shower again because their warranty vendor was here to take a look - we received no communication about his arrival until he was outside banging on the door, only for him and maintenance to confirm there wasn't even an active leak, so this was an illegal entry resulting from the team's poor planning all so they could have the repair fixed under warranty at their convenience.
It's particularly distressing because I have severe OCD that the office has been made aware of yet they refused to work with me in any capacity to provide more communication regarding these entries because "everyone has something" - a direct quote from the community manager, Kenneth. That's fine if it's your personal opinion about OCD, but such a response is illegal under the Fair Housing Act. On top of that, our dog also has pretty bad anxiety that becomes intensified when random people are entering and/or banging on our door, especially when we aren't home, which the office has also been made aware of - they just don't care.
Unfortunately, these unwanted entries are just one example of the unpleasantries that have come with living here over the past year, but since I've already written a novel, I'll have to digress from additional specifics.
Even with an entirely new office and management team that Greystar brought on after receiving poor feedback regarding the first community manager, none of the issues have improved, and her replacement seems to be far more unfit for the role. And just know you aren't even getting the full picture with their google reviews as management does everything in their power to coerce people who leave bad reviews to take them down. Even after Kenneth responded the way he did to my OCD while meeting with him in his office, my partner and I both agreed to take down our previous 1 star reviews as Kenneth said we never gave him a fair shot, and both me and my partner wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. We even swapped them out for 5 star reviews praising him because we felt bad, but seeing how things have progressed since, it's clear he's an even worse community manager than the original that only lasted a year before she was replaced.
The only other person Greystar puts you in contact with is the regional manager, Lindsay, who does not even reply to voicemails and written requests to discuss such issues. It seems as though apathy, lying, and gaslighting are core parts of Greystar's culture.
If you're looking for an apartment in Mueller, check out any of the multiple Amli Apartments in the neighborhood or the "Parkside at Mueller" condos. They are all comparably priced and better located as they're actually in Mueller while the Solomon is in Windsor Park. Whatever you do, avoid this place, we certainly wish we had. read more
