I have to agree with the other two women's reviews on this (possibly a pattern here?) about how poorly I was treated by Dr. Solomon. I came in with a tentative diagnosis from my PCP with Lupus SLE (which runs in my family) and tests showing positive speckled ANA, very high inflammation rate in the low twenties, etc. I was feeling rather wretched that day, as it was a cold snowy day and the Reynaud's was acting up. Without having examined me, Dr. Solomon announced I had sleep apnea! No tests, no exam, not having gone over anything in my chart with me, not even a blood pressure check (which is very low). I was absolutely shocked. I'd lost weight from the mono and walking pneumonia (something I'd mentioned when making the appt), so I have no idea where he was getting this from - certainly not a sleep study! I'd never had one at that time. I was in tears when I left, marched back to my PCP's office and demanded to see another Rheumatologist. We had to fight my insurance company, they didn't want to pay for another one, of course. It was a miserable, horrible fight. Dear Dr. Solomon, if you read these reviews: It is now twelve years later. I have had two sleep studies to diagnose RLS and insomnia. I ***STILL*** do not have sleep apnea, Dr. Solomon! What I do have is Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Something you might have caught all those years ago if you had bothered to treat me as a human being and had an ounce of professionalism or compassion. When I mentioned your treatment to my new rheumatolgist they had your name on the tip of their tongue, Dr. Solomon. Your reputation among your fellow Rheumies is quite something that merely describing the incident, not even the town your office is in, and they knew exactly who you were! Turns out, they've treated a lot of your patients after the patients left you out of frustration. I'm grateful to be among them. read more

I'm a patient of Dr. Solomon and I have been for almost 10 years. One of the first things he said to me was "Just because there isn't a test for it, doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with you". I had a supposedly rare reaction to an antibiotic. No doctor would listen to me. No doctor would help me but Dr. Solomon did. Not only did he listen but he researched what was happening in my body. He researched the drug. He referred me to other specialists and ultimately found a test that confirmed the damage done in my body. I honestly don't think I'd be here today if it weren't for Dr. Solomon. He saved my life and I will forever be grateful to him. I highly recommend him. If you want a doctor that listens to you, let's you take part in your own healthcare, then in my opinion Dr. Solomon is the doctor for you. Quite frankly, I'm shocked and saddened by the four poor reviews left here by other women. My experience with Dr. Solomon has been an exact 180 from what they have described. I don't hesitate to refer patients to him and I've never heard anything but good things from those that I have referred. So Dr. Solomon if you do read reviews about yourself, thank you. My intentions of this review, is not to sound like a bitch, or a whiny patient, but to tell the world, what a rude, big-headed, and unprofessional dr, Dr. Solomon is, and that no patient, especially anyone new to seeing a rheumatologist, should see him. He came in, and asked me how he can help. I told him the diagnosis my previous dr. gave me and without looking at my chart, without examining any part of my body, he said: you don't have that! You don't have it, no you don't... nope! He just kept repeating that I didn't have what other dr.'s told me I did. He did eventually start asking me questions and examined my body. I told him that my blood test results weren't normal (bc that's what my dr. told me) and he practically shoved the paper in my face and said: your results are normal... see!!! I tried to tell him, okay, I'm not a dr. I'm just telling you what the other dr. told me. At the end, he finally ordered an MRI. I asked him if he wants me to come back, and he said, well that's up to you! Why would a dr. order an MRI and not request to see the patient again to explain the finding and treat accordingly? It makes no sense. I left the office hurt, and upset. I will not be seeing him again. He was rude, big-headed and made it seem like every dr. I had been seeing up until him was wrong. He even commented that another medical condition I had was incorrect, even tho I had been treated for it for 7 years. And another thing, he had a huge yellow mustard looking stain on his shirt and I could barely make eye contact with him bc it was so distracting. He was gross! read more

This man should be reviewed by a medical board. I don't think he is qualified to treat anyone. I went in because of joint swelling and pain which was developing quickly. When he came in, he hadn't looked over any of my blood work or charts before seeing me (even though it was required before making an appointment). I pointed this out and he told me that he wanted an unbias observation, but I really think he was just too lazy to be bothered. He told me that my problem was something to do with my ligaments. I really disagreed with him since I've had the same hyperextention my whole life, and so does everyone in my family and they weren't experiencing what I was. He finally told me to just go home, read over the information about it and call him if I still disagreed. He prescribed me some pain killers for treatment, and I was supposed to go back in a month. I went home, read everything I could on it, and decided I really did disagree with him. I called him the next day and he'd left on vacation. When I tried to tell the office how unhappy I was with my appointment and the doctor leaving when he said he would talk to me about it, they were very rude, did nothing for me, and made me feel even worse. I finally got in with a real doctor at another clinic, and was quickly diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and started treatment right away. So basically, he misdiagnosed a very obvious case of RA, gave me a prescription I should have never had, and never gave a crap. Also, in the time I had to wait to get in to see him, then to see different rheumatologist, my symptoms got worse and a lot of irreversible damage occured which could have been avoided. He was very expensive to go see, more than any of other doctor I've seen (and to add insult to injury, you have to pay for parking at this clinic). My appointment with Solomon was over a year ago and I am still pissed off enough to write a review about it so no one else has to deal with this pompous and arrogant man. read more

I have not read a review for Dr. Soloman prior to today and I must say I am flabergasted. Dr. Soloman was recommended by my dermatologist in 1999 as a possible SCLE patient. (Sub Accute Lupus Erathemitosis) because of skin lesions. He was cordual, professional asking other symtoms I might be experiencing. Did some blood tests to check for SLE (Systemic Lupus) which I did not have. Two visits to his office in Edmonds prior to becoming a principle in the Seattle Arthritis Clinic and he prescribed medication Which I have been taking since 1999. My auto-imune disease has been under complete control since day one. I have blood tests and office visits every three months to be certain the disease is under control but also that the medication is not harming me. I can talk with him (and I do) about any medical subject I'm interested in hearing what he has to say about. I have had several other medical concerns which I have told him about and he has always said (lets check that out) and he has ordered numerous tests from other facilities to determine if I have other issues to worry about. Dr. Soloman is not my PCP, I only wish he was. I did not go to him so I could tell him what other doctors have told me. I went to him so he could tell me what he thinks and I listen. I'm 70 years old, I can run a 12 minute mile, my diet is sound my skin is relatively clear of lesions, I have no joint pain which I used to have, He has convinced me and showed me how to guit smoking. He is a busy doctor. If he was anything like the two reviews on this site he would not be. If you are looking for a babysitter that will listen to you telling him what other healthcare providers have told you I suggest you don't waste his time. He is one of the best in the area. read more

If I were giving advice to medical students, I'd say go into rheumatology, because apparently there's a dearth of good practitioners. Dr. Solomon is part of that vacuum. It's been more than 5 years, and I must still be angry. Like these other reviewers, I was not listened to, told my ailments didn't exist but that other nonexistent ones did. He argued with me insanely about symptoms that were obvious. (He did end up being right about 1 thing, wrong about 3 others.) I'm not a crybaby but each time I saw him I ended up in tears just like these other reviewers. I'm not asking for charisma, just competence, and for a doctor to pay attention to the evidence in front of him. I had another bad doctor experience today, and from now on I will check Yelp before seeing anyone. (My own doctor is fantastic.) read more

I visited Dr. Solomon when we were trying to figure out what all was wrong with me. I had headaches and numbness all over. I couldn't wash my hair without my hands going numb. I had already seen the neurologist and since there was something abnormal in my blood they were worried it could be something to do with immune disorder or arthritis. He came in 30 min late, asked me a few questions, and never looked at my blood work. In fact he didn't even have it with him. He raised my arms a couple times and announced the root of all my evils was sleep apnea and being fat. He wrote out 4 pages of body weight, bmi, and stick figures of fat and skinny people. I just read the other reviews for Dr. Solomon and wanted to add my experience into the mix. It is unfortunate that some other people have had negative experiences with him. But my experience, now extending for many years, could not be any more positive. Dr. Solomon has always taken time to listen to me and try to figure out how to address my various medical issues. He was responsible for referring me to several other physicians when my problems went outside his area of expertise and these referrals have been spot-on in getting me the help I have needed. After decades of trying to get properly diagnosed and treated, I can now finally say that things are greatly improved and Dr. Solomon has been invaluable in making this happen. I has not been easy and has taken many doctor visits and so many tests, etc., I could not possibly count them all, but Dr. Solomon has been there for me throughout the entire experience. I could not recommend him more highly to anyone in need of a rheumatologist. read more
