Never in our wildest dreams have we thought of ever making our outdoor living oasis vision come to life. That's right...OUTDOOR LIVING! It's the perfect gift that keeps on giving. We play host all the time now and the praises from everyone from kids to adults alike just never ends! Our experience with Blade Runners was first rate! Waited 11 years before finally pulling the plug and deciding on a contractor/landscaper and we truly cannot be any happier of our choice. Garrett's design background and top of the line 3D computer program were truly an exceptional asset to the entire experience. He is visionary, professional, flexible and most of all compassionate. He has a creative mind for design, strict standards for work quality, and stands behind his work. He took our ideas and mixed them with his to transform ordinary into extraordinary. He worked with us to find a solution for our back yard that fit within our vision and we couldn't be happier with the results. While he definitely has stylistic leanings that he favors, he listened to what we liked and didn't like and his choices were always spot on. We felt we could trust him completely and he proved us right every step of the way. He helped us conceive the designs, offered many new ideas, helped us select materials and plants, and executed with an eye for detail. He was open to our feedback along the way and made adjustments with ease. He included several benefits beyond our agreed scope - including foot rest on the bar that we would never have thought of ourselves - at no additional charge. His crew was also very attentive to detail, both in terms of making sure the foundation items are sound (drainage, soil condition/preparation) as well as the final aesthetic look (border design, plant/trees placement). Always early to arrive on site, professional and respectful of our family and property which is very important to us. They always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. Our empty oddly sloped backyard lot became an amazing outdoor entertaining area. Everyone who has seen it absolutely adores and loves it! We are very happy with the workmanship and end product. Garrett and team Blade Runners cared about their work and made sure the work as well as the maintenance was in tip-top shape. The end result was exceptional just as promised...even after the job was complete, Garrett still kept coming by to check up on how things are holding up making sure our satisfaction has been met and then some. Evident from his Instagram posts from past clients, he was not only after our business but a life-long friendship that you will hardly ever find in a hired professional. He even made us a very nice video of the entire process, the before and after, beginning to end using his awesome drone so that we would have an aerial view of the entire project. I cannot recommend Blade Runners highly enough. Thanks, Blade Runners and your fantastic team. We absolutely adore (and everyone else whom has stepped foot on) our backyard! We talked, he shared the history of the company (30 yrs in business, I remember correctly) and reviewed what we were hoping to replace- he showed me what Shading Solutions could do- measured, twice, and we were on our way. The date he told me to anticipate our awnings should be delivered and one week before, contacted me to say we are on schedule! The awnings were delivered and we set a date for installation. The day before, Kurt Lamothe, the installer, came to look at the awnings and to check out the job site, impressive! Not waiting for 'day of ' - being proactive shows professionalism ~ so appreciated in this day! The installers show up, again, professional and friendly and EARLY! Again, I was impressed because as they're installing, Joe, my sales guy, shows up just to make sure all is going well and that I was satisfied. He even texted me after to say there is a windy storm rolling in so make sure to roll up the awnings as they were just installed. The guys picked up all the wrappings and left not one piece behind. I do not know much about gardening, they provided flower types that are hardy enough to withstand the cool spring nights. Yesterday I did the pumpkin decorating class. We got two large pumpkins and got to pick either a white or blue pumpkin. The supplies to decorate were plentiful. They provide all kinds of ideas and examples. The instructors are very friendly and helpful. I do not consider myself a creative person but after these classes I do! Many people brought snacks and drinks. Definitely a fun night out.

They came once to repair it, never finished, and we've had a partially functioning pergola ever since. As we prepared to sell our home in 2025, we hired them to fix it for the new owners. After two service visits, the pergola went from half working to not working at all. They couldn't locate the wiring they had installed themselves and still billed us for both days. Never have we had a service come to our house, be completely unable to help, bill us, and leave it worse than before. When we asked (multiple times) to speak to Jacob, the owner, he refused to email us back, refused to call us back, refused to come out to fix what his guys left unusable, and said our emails were "less than friendly," even though they were perfectly polite and representative of a frustrated customer. I would be happy to share the emails with any potential customer. Overall, we found the company unreliable, unresponsive, and completely unprofessional. We would not recommend EDG (or Midwest Arbor) to anyone looking for lasting work or dependable customer service.
