Best warranty and quality materials and labor. 949 637-9108. They are out of Santa Clarita. We are so happy and satisfied with our system and our bills have gone from $300 plus a month to less than $40 a month. Also when the power has gone out in our neighborhood the battery backup has saved the day. Stellar value, workmanship, professionalism and service plus a 25 year warranty. Highly recommended

California Solar and Electric was great to work with. But I wanted to provide a more detailed…read morereview than I normally do as this was a bit more complicated than just going out to dinner. At my old home I had solar installed without any kind of battery backup as at the time battery backup was really not an option. Solar was pretty good but did not provide me with a zero bill. When I sold that home and moved into my new home the cost was more than I wanted to spend. Fast forward three years and prices have come down and with the federal tax credit expiring I decided to make the investment as the cost of electricity seems to keep going up. I wanted to go with Tesla as being a big company I thought they would be a good choice. The first problem I had with them is you can't reach a person to talk to. And for the amount of money this costs I was not really comfortable, however I moved on and paid a deposit and started the process in September of 2025. When I finally was able to speak with a person they told me that they could not guarantee that they could complete the installation by the December 31, 2025 deadline, really 4 months of lead time? I canceled Tesla and looked around at my other options. Shelter came to my home and we spoke. They were knowledgeable and the salesperson was really nice, however their price was a huge difference from the other two quotes that I received. Quantium was another company that I spoke with, and I was ready to use them as they were much bigger than California Solar and I thought that might be a better option, plus a neighbor had used them and were happy with them. However when I got the contract from them it basically stated that they wanted a $1000 deposit and if they found that I needed additional work and if I did not want to continue then I would loose my deposit, that seemed outrageous so I told them that I would not continue with them. Note that after I had decided to go with California Solar and Electric they told me they would give me the deposit back if that would happen, but by them I had already signed the contract with California Solar and Electric and honestly was happier with them at that point. I spoke to Mark Howe and he was excellent. I told him about Quantium and he sent me a copy of their contract and told me that they did not do that. His price was the same and the equipment was the similar. Note that they actually had to upgrade my solar panels and did not charge me any additional fees. They also did some additional work to allow more of my home to be backed up than their original quote. Mark told me that he could get the job done before the tax deadline so I signed with them. The process took a bit of time as we had to get permits and approval from the HOA. But the system was installed on time and fully completed well before the deadline. They actually worked on the installation during huge winds and rain. It did take a day or two longer to complete than what they originally thought. One of my batteries was bad out of the box and that created a bit of an issue but Henry was amazing and took care of everything quickly and professionally. He was even nice when I messed up and scanned a QR code that I thought would download a different app but it basically erased my home from my app. Note to self, double check before scanning QR codes. All in all the process was professional and was handled as quickly as possible. Communication was good even though they were swamped trying to get everyone installed before the end of the year (2025). Everyone that I dealt with was really nice and easy to work with. I think I must have driven Bella their wonderful assistant, crazy calling so often. Of course Henry had to deal with all of my questions which he handled and made me feel very comfortable. I would suggest that if you do decide to go solar, give California Solar and Electric a call and get a quote. Thanks for reading my lengthy review.

I cannot say enough good things about Marco. I truly procrastinated on installing solar for a long…read moretime because I had heard so many horror stories about roof damage, leaks, and systems failing. I was extremely hesitant to move forward. From the very first conversation, Marco completely changed that. He has excellent communication skills and stayed in constant touch with me throughout the entire process. Every question I had was answered clearly and honestly, and he walked me through each step so I always knew what to expect. What is usually a stressful and painful process ended up being smooth and surprisingly easy. We started by doing our roof first, and shortly after, Los Angeles was hit with a major storm. Everything held up perfectly, which already gave me peace of mind. After that, we moved forward with the solar installation, and once again another storm came through. The system performed exactly as it should, with no issues at all and no damage to the roof. Marco made the entire experience feel organized, transparent, and stress free. I am so glad I waited until I found the right person to work with. If you are on the fence about solar or nervous like I was, Marco is someone you can truly trust. I would highly recommend him.

Despite how hectic that time was, he had my system fully installed and running just over a month later, in early December. Beyond the end result, the overall experience was outstanding. If I texted Marco, his average response time was probably around 15 minutes. He answered all of my questions and genuinely made me feel like I was working with a real person, not a faceless big solar company or door-to-door charlatan. His pricing was about average for the market, but the service was easily 10/10. A couple of days after turning the system on, Marco proactively reached out to let me know my battery was showing an error code. He sent someone out and had it resolved within a few hours. That level of attentiveness and follow-through really sets him apart.

All of them had different levels of review, except for Next Door and I know why... Johnny and his team were communicative every step of the way, clean and quick. I litterally started in late November and was finished and going in early December. Immediate phone calls and text were appreciated. l wanted the "Tesla" battery it was explained why it wouldn't be beneficial to me and there were alternatives. All other solar inquiries rolled it into their estimate without any hesitation. So, if solar is on your bucket list for 2026, you wont go wrong with getting an estimate from Johnny and his team at Next Door. I was very happy with the choice I made. Truly wish every home project had this kind of experience with a contractor. Side note, they did my roof too... I had an exceptional experience with Next Door Home Upgrades, and I want to share just how smooth,…read morehonest, and efficient the entire process was from start to finish. I reached out to Johnny on October 8th, 2025 about installing solar with battery backup. He met with me personally, explained every step clearly -- system design, permitting, timelines, PTO with Edison, and realistic expectations. What immediately stood out was his no‑pressure approach. He didn't try to upsell or push me into anything. He simply gave me straightforward information, answered every question, and let me decide at my own pace. I felt confident enough to sign the contract within two days. Before choosing them, I had gathered multiple quotes through a solar marketplace. Because it was a busy season due to the Federal rebate impending sunset on Dec 31st, 2025, most vendors were slow to respond as everyone was trying to rush to meet the Dec 31st deadline. Some installers had contract clauses I simply couldn't agree to. Johnny's pricing was not cheap but upfront and transparent. No hidden conditions, no questionable fine print, and no pressure tactics. Just a price backed by professionalism. And you get what you pay for. I am glad I chose them. They began pulling permits the following week, and the project moved quickly. By mid‑November 2025, they had installed a 10.78 kW solar system with 20 kW of Enphase batteries. I chose Enphase microinverters, which allow me to monitor each panel individually through the Enphase app -- a huge advantage over systems that only show total production. The installation crew was super courteous, kind, efficient, and clearly knew what they were doing. They kept the worksite tidy throughout the job and made sure everything was spotless when they finished. I'll be adding pictures of the awesome team to this review and updating it with their names as well. A big shoutout to Micole, who handled all the documentation and communication. She was consistently on top of every detail -- permits, inspections, utility paperwork -- and she responded promptly every time I had a question. Her organization and responsiveness made the entire process feel effortless. Another major plus: Next Door Home Upgrades helped me secure a loan through one of their partner lenders, and the entire approval and setup process was smooth and hassle‑free. No delays, no surprises -- just straightforward financing that made the project even easier. Once the system was installed, inspections were completed within a couple of weeks. Then came the part most installers hesitate to commit to: Permission to Operate (PTO) from Edison. Nearly every other company I spoke with told me they could not guarantee PTO by year‑end. Johnny didn't make unrealistic promises either, but he did explain that Simi Valley's building department is efficient and that Edison typically processes PTO quickly once everything is submitted. He was right. I received PTO on December 10, 2025, well ahead of my December 31st deadline -- giving me plenty of time to secure the 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit without any stress. The system has been performing flawlessly. Over the last six months, my electric bills -- which used to average $280-$300 per month -- have dropped to just $22. I also want to highlight Enphase's customer service, which has been outstanding. They remotely checked my batteries to ensure optimal performance and even came onsite twice to fine‑tune the software, despite everything already showing perfect on the app. Their Enphase 10C batteries come with a 15‑year warranty, compared to the 10‑year warranties many competitors offer. And the level of monitoring access with Enphase -- including individual panel monitoring -- is something many other inverter systems simply cannot provide. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional -- honest communication, excellent workmanship, realistic timelines, smooth financing, fair pricing, and a team that genuinely cares about doing things right. Johnny, Micole, and the entire crew (to update names soon) delivered exactly what homeowners hope for: a professional, reliable solar installation that delivers real results. If you're considering solar or home energy upgrades in Simi Valley or nearby areas, I wholeheartedly recommend Next Door Home Upgrades. They exceeded every expectation
