Tanya gives a wonderful massage for a great price. The facilities are clean and well-kept.

Spavia is located in nice plaza off of NJ 17. There is ample parking. The entrance was a bit tight (space) but it was beautifully set up and peaceful. The front desk was small but efficient. The staff that checked me in was super sweet and helpful. She checked me in and got me set up in changing room. She walked me through each step of the process. I was given a locker to store my clothes and was given a white rob to change into and sandals. The dressing room had lockers a separate toilet area, shower and area to dress. When I finished changing into my robe I went into the relaxation room and waited for my masseuse to pick me up. I scheduled the ultimate massage. Chris my masseuse was wonderful. He worked on the many knots on my neck and back. I had a full body massage for 80 minutes and it was so worth it.

After a week-long road trip from NJ to Chicago, my boyfriend and I really needed a massage. So we…read moredecided to scope out some deals on couples massages in the area. We found the Botanical Spa & Salon on Amazon Local. So to make sure we could use the deal immediately (as in next day), I called before purchasing to make sure they would accept it. The guy told me that I didn't need to buy the deal and they would honor the price. You would just pay them instead of paying Amazon, so that's what we did. They happened to have a slot open so the timing worked for us. Turns out, it wasn't actually a couples massage. You're actually in separate, adjoining rooms, and they just leave that door open. That's fine but if that's the case, they shouldn't advertise it as a "couples massage." Other than that, the massage was nice - nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about. The deal also included an add-on service, which was either a back scrub or a foot mask. I opted for the back scrub. They were a little rough on that but it was worth it because my back felt really smooth afterwards. With a massage, you also get access to their fitness center, hot tub, and pool. There's also a locker room and showers but the showers are pretty dismal-looking. One of the two doesn't even have a soap/shampoo dispenser. I probably wouldn't be back because the facilities didn't seem too spa-like (especially when you're sharing with hotel guests, since it's located within the Marriott). Plus, I feel like I could find a better deal elsewhere.

My massage was incredible, it was with John. I told him that I'm on my feet a lot at work. This past week was a very busy week and I worked close to 60 hard long hours. I also told him that I ached everywhere. He worked out every knot I had! It was a little painful at first but I was in bad shape. He found knots I didnt know I had ,stretched my limbs and worked on my flexibility. I feel like a new person. I've had regular massages 2-3 times a year for years and he was the best I've ever had. The spa is nice , relaxing dimly lit. Its a little odd that you check in next door and sit outside waiting to be called in, your basically sitting in the hotel lobby. A private waiting room would be a nice addition.

Redeeming online deals are always a tricky business because you never know if you'll receive the same service and reception as a full-paying customer or a regular. But here, it was a breeze. When I called over the phone, the receptionist readily accepted my redemption and scheduled me for an appointment in the not-too-distant future. De Beauté salon is easily one of the largest salons I've visited, taking up an entire multi-story building. Parking is easy with an adjoining lot and the first floor essentially functions as a receiving lobby. Here, receptionists will check you in, tell you which floor you're heading toward, and hand you a slip of paper that details the service you're receiving (to give to your service provider). I was paired with Antoine for the Brazilian blowout, and I wish I'd taken before/after pictures because wow, what a change. I'd arrived with frizzy hair that was approximating a Brillo-pad texture and frizz (thanks to a bleach job I'd recently gotten done), but after a short hour and a half in the chair, my tresses had been tamed to a silky smoothness that I hadn't felt on my head for some time. I've since washed my hair a few times, and I'm happy to report that this keratin treatment has staying power. For those sensitive to strong chemicals, note that the formula they use contains formaldehyde. I appreciated that they set up the chair by two strong fans and an open door, but my eyes still watered a bit here and there.

Melissa is wonderful, and the entire experience at Serene is absolutely perfect, starting from the moment you walk in the door. Serene is an organic spa, which is NOT easy to find in Bergen County, although spas are a dime a dozen. Knowing that natural products are going to be put on your body was a huge selling point for me, and I could not be happier with my experiences at Serene. Entering Serene is like entering a really chic boho type boutique. There are items for sale ranging from skincare products, to bags, clothing and jewelry, most (if not all) made by women around the US, which I love. It truly is a peaceful way to begin the spa experience - or find a unique gift to pick up for someone. I've now gone twice for a facial, and both times have not booked a specific type of facial, I've asked Melissa for whatever she thinks will work best for my skin. She delivers beyond anything I could choose off the menu and is so knowledgeable about exactly what your skin needs to look the best it possibly can. Melissa explains what she's putting on your face at each step of the process, what the product itself is made of, and what it will help with in regards to your skin. Other than that, this is not a spa experience where you have someone who is constantly talking to you - Melissa works her magic and allows you to lay back and completely and totally relax. She is incredibly diligent with the extraction part of the facial as well, and even after my first facial with her, I noticed a huge difference in my skin that has now stuck over the months (it's even better following a second session, and I truly believe will just continue to improve). My facials have consisted of fruit peels (I believe a berry peel and then a grape peel at my most recent session), which smell delicious and WORK, though without the redness of a chemical peel that lasts for days following. The peels I have gotten are $85/session, and worth every single penny. There are other more basic facials as well that are a bit lower in price. Another thing I love about Serene is that there is no pushing of products on you - I always ask for recommendations on what I can buy to continue working on skin health, and Melissa is happy to make recommendations, but she also gives samples versus encouraging you to buy a full-sized product right off the bat. I did buy a softening chocolate mask that smells delicious (literally like chocolate) and works wonders ($20, and I've had it for 3 months at this point, with a ton stil left!). I will continue to frequent Serene because the experience is so peaceful, Melissa is so wonderful and personable, and I leave with a noticeable difference in my skin. Can't wait for my next session!
