I discovered De Beaute salon through a Groupon for a Brazilian blowout and made my first appointment with bated breath. Redeeming online deals are always a tricky business because you never know if you'll receive the same service and reception as a full-paying customer or a regular. But here, it was a breeze. When I called over the phone, the receptionist readily accepted my redemption and scheduled me for an appointment in the not-too-distant future. De Beauté salon is easily one of the largest salons I've visited, taking up an entire multi-story building. Parking is easy with an adjoining lot and the first floor essentially functions as a receiving lobby. Here, receptionists will check you in, tell you which floor you're heading toward, and hand you a slip of paper that details the service you're receiving (to give to your service provider). I was paired with Antoine for the Brazilian blowout, and I wish I'd taken before/after pictures because wow, what a change. I'd arrived with frizzy hair that was approximating a Brillo-pad texture and frizz (thanks to a bleach job I'd recently gotten done), but after a short hour and a half in the chair, my tresses had been tamed to a silky smoothness that I hadn't felt on my head for some time. I've since washed my hair a few times, and I'm happy to report that this keratin treatment has staying power. For those sensitive to strong chemicals, note that the formula they use contains formaldehyde. I appreciated that they set up the chair by two strong fans and an open door, but my eyes still watered a bit here and there. read more

This review is solely for the Spa part. I purchased a Groupon for a 60-minute custom body scrub with hydrating treatment. I had passed De Beaute many times, and this was my excuse to finally go. I called to schedule an appointment, which was a breeze. They also followed up with a confirming text message, reminder text, and thank you for visiting text which I did not mind receiving. The parking lot is off of W Grand Ave and has ample spots. I walked up to the reception desk, on the ground floor, and was warmly greeted by all four ladies behind the desk. I was given a slip with the type of treatment I'd be receiving on it and told to proceed to the second floor. They have an elevator, which makes it easy to get from floor to floor. When I got to the second floor, I was greeted by Kelly who showed me to the locker/changing room and to the room where I'd receive my treatment. I really liked how the second floor had the look and feel of a spa. The locker room is small, but has all the amenities you'd need. Kelly was fantastic during my body scrub treatment! She explained everything and made me feel super comfortable. For those who have never had a body scrub before (like myself), you are in your birthday suit, but are properly covered by a sheet as each part of your body gets scrubbed. You then hop into the shower, in the same room, to rinse off. The smoothest body butter was then applied the same way each part of my body was scrubbed. My skin felt so incredibly soft afterwards! I chatted with Kelly a little during the treatment, asking about their other services and what she recommends. On my way out, I received business cards for areas that I expressed interest in, and on them included a discount for when I return. I'm a sucker for saving money! I look forward to returning to try a facial and to get a massage with Kelly! read more

I had Nicole as my hairdresser and I did not have a good experience at all. I went in for the Brazilian blowout from Groupon and I asked to cut my hair literally ONE inch, I thought it would be $30-40 but they charged me $60 and that too for a crappy job because after I left the salon, I noticed 3 spots with uneven hair. I had to come back to get it fixed again which is not acceptable. I have never had to go back to the hair salon to fix something they should've properly done in the first place. The smell of keratin treatment for the Brazilian blowout was so strong that she had 2 fans blowing to circulate the air and she herself had a mask on so the humane thing to do would be to ask the customer if they wanted a mask themselves but she did not ask. I spoke to Daniel the manager who was absolutely great. But would not recommend Nicole at all. read more

I mostly go here for my nails but it is a full service salon and spa. Actually it's a whole building of beauty!!! I get the gel manicure which always comes out amazing and lasts the full two weeks thanks to my amazing manicurist Galina. She is great at pedicures too! The salon is beautiful and very clean. You def get what you pay for. Everyone there is very friendly and you never feel rushed. They take their time and pay attention to detail, which every girl knows how important that is when it comes to nails. I have also had an updo done here for a wedding and did a great job as well! I don't think you can go wrong with anyone there. They have a website with all the prices listed. A gel manicure will cost you $40-45 and a pedicure is the same as well. Hair is pricey as well, but the spa services run about average to any other place I have been to. read more

I've been to spa more than three times and before and after the current pandemic it's a great establishment. I was very happy that not only did they keep up with regulations to be able to keep people safe by regulations I mean Covid guidelines but they also have that warm welcoming vibe about them that I enjoyed a lot. It had been a few years pre-pandemic that I had gotten a massage and my full body massage experience as well as the aromatherapy and body scrub that went along with it was incredible. Being there just allowed me to be able to let go and to be able to actually truly relax and to build engage in some nice conversation with my masseuse as well too. Met with Daniel for a thorough appraisal of the condition of my hair (very highlighted) and followed his suggestion to have a hair treatment prior to my scheduled "Brazilian Blowout" which really felt great and included a fabulous head massage. Daniel is an expert in my opinion about hair type and appropriate treatments and products. During the keratin process with the associated, unavoidable resulting fumes, he takes great care in ensuring not only the comfort of his clients but the other salon staff in the vicinity of where the treatment is applied. The results far exceeded my hopes. Without any pressure from him I purchased 2 of the products we discussed to help maintain the treatment and help to improve the overall quality of my hair. My hair looks great and I'm hopeful will continue to be healthier by employing Daniels advice. Ill definitely be back. read more

Pro: very relaxing when my skin was not burning from her using products I was sensitive to. Cons: she wouldn't stop comparing acne / skin issues. Went around in circles as to how she cured it and pretty much had 3 different stories so it didn't make sense, I wish she would've stopped talking . She asked about my skin type , and after throughly explaining fragrances and mineral oils are huge no no's, my nose almost died from the highly fragrant products she was using. Several times she applied things that BURNED, not sting. And ended up going for a gentler substitute. Which I felt if she had aligned wouldn't happen. I'm a picker, I know what on my face, I have a lot of tiny blackheads which I try to remove and can't hence the facial. She used her fingernails and sharply pinched my face a couple times, and then told me I only had 3 blackheads. At that point I was pissed. I let her finish, I tipped, she tried to reel me in to return, I played along. But I'm officially done with this place. I'm not sure if it was because she was young and inexperienced, or lazy. But if you get a facial here not the young girl. All in all horrible experience and a waste of $195. I will never return. But as said in my initial review, massages and scrubs by HANNAH are MAGNIFICENT. read more

I have been going to De Beaute for my nails and eyebrows for the past 8 months or so but after an unfortunate hair experience at a very expensive salon, I decided to try their hair services as well. I had an appointment with Daniel and I can't say enough about how welcoming, attentive and honest he was -- it was a breath of fresh air. He told me what he could and couldn't do with my hair at the moment as the color and chemicals were still so recent from my previous bad hair appointment but he told me how we could go about starting to fix it. After discussing the options with me, Daniel gave me a 3/4 highlights, glaze, blow dry, etc. and the end result was amazing. I felt like myself again! A couple weeks ago my wife got her haircut here with Daniel and she loves it. Her hair still looks amazing! Daniel was great, super professional and very friendly, as was the rest of the staff. We had flown in from California for an impromptu family event in Westwood, so we booked this a couple days before and my wife couldn't be happier. Daniel took the time to find out what my wife wanted and what her routine was, and had a good amount of products to choose from (even a great organic shampoo and conditioner that my wife now uses). Nothing special. Lack of customer service beyond basic scope of service provided. Bought a deal on Groupon for scrub/exfoliation. Guess they treat their Groupon customers as "whatever". Drove 35 mins to try this place out. Won't be back again. Not worth it. Could have rubbed scrub all over my body and applied lotion after. May have needed some help reaching my back haha. Attractive salon, very clean. Used a Groupon for Spa Manicure/Reflexology Pedicure Combo. Supposedly $110 full price for $59. The pedi was lovely, but NOT reflexology, just a simple foot massage. Clearly the tech had not been trained in reflexology. Mani, again, nice but nothing special, what made it a spa mani, don't know. Lovely pedi chairs, but they were in front of a huge TV screen, thankfully sound was off, but it totally detracted from the peaceful, calm vibe of salon. On way out, front desk staff asked how my service was and said what's written above, told them the services were indistinguishable from a $35 mani/pedi available at many salons in this area.
