Do not go to this place. Parking sucks - customer service does not exist. Gym smells funny and dirty.

My biggest regret moving from Venice was giving up working out with Bevin at Studio U. This studio…read moreis incredible, the perfect size, clean, welcoming, and it's owner, Bevin, is competent, badass, kind and overall just good people. She made an existing passion of mine, boxing, even more fun and challenging in the right way. I did both group classes and 1-1 sessions and it never disappointed. Even group classes that can sometimes be bleak at other spots were fun and engaging, partially because Bevin builds a community. I never tried the Pilates section, but I only hear great things about it. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a stellar local workout spot with wonderful people to brighten up your existence.

I honestly haven't seen any studios focusing on TRX classes alone and I was pretty stoked when I got the deal. First off, Studio U is located on Abbot Kinney just down the street from my favorite spinning studio, YAS. I'm shocked that I never knew this place existed and I literally drive by everyday. I guess I was really lucky on my first visit t there was one other student beside me. The instructor, Bevin is knowledgeable, patient and very nice...she watched our every move, form and reminded us to keep breathing. The entire session was literally like a semi-private. My body definitely remembered the moves and I'm sure I'll be feeling sore tomorrow. You can sign up for classes online and there is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Bevin was understanding the first time I canceled due to a last minute conference call I had at work with Asia. I understand now why they need such a lengthy period of time for cancellation as the class sizes are really small. Nevertheless, I will definitely be coming back here.

I've tried close to 5 other studios in the South Bay Area and none have been as challenging as this one. Got to check out Tunnel Pilates this weekend for my first ever Pilates class, and I absolutely fell…read morein love! Our instructor, Tori, was the absolute sweetest, and I love how she was so friendly and attentive to everyone in class, regardless of experience level. She took the time to introduce herself to me and my boyfriend before the class, answered any questions we had, and even personally checked up on us after the session to see how we liked it. Her Pilates workout was very challenging, but definitely doable, even for a beginner like myself, and I appreciated how she walked by to check on my form, gave encouragement, and allowed us to take breaks as needed. My boyfriend (who regularly gyms/lifts heavy weights everyday) and I both agreed that the heated reformer Pilates workout was super effective at universally working out our back, back, core, glute, and leg muscles. The studio itself was very modern, with dark curtains/windows for both the mat and reformer rooms, and wall mirrors to check your form (although the reformers were quite far from them). I'll definitely be back again at Tunnel once I get a bit more experience under my belt, and I highly recommend checking them out for well-designed, challenging Pilates workouts!
