My instructor recommended SQLPT as a good place for me to learn the fundamentals, and I'm glad she did. The class is still a challenge for me, but I like that I can focus on learning the exercises properly and getting the most out of each one. I really hope they keep the Monday morning all-levels class because I'd definitely take more!

It was challenging and I broke a sweat, but not the type of workout that had me out of breath which I loved. There was a good amount of parking and some street parking, all of which is paid for, but the first hour is free which is perfect for taking a class. The studio is a bit small and the class was packed, but there was just enough room for everyone to have their own space to move around. There are numbers on the floor throughout the studio for spacing which is great. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at this studio and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good workout in this area.

The people that work here and go here are some of the most special and unique people I have ever meet. To be honest I should have written a review about this place a long time ago when I lived in Florida, but I didn't, I dropped the ball, but while back visiting after a year away I stopped in and the feeling of love and welcome was so overwhelming I would be amiss to not step up and say how much I love this place. This gym offers a unique variety of things that you can't find at your regular box gyms. You can take Kickboxing, Sanshou, Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Bootcamp. They offer classes for both kids and adults 7 days a week. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, they really do take the extra time to focus on you. Your needs, your goals, your weaknesses, your strengths. Always encouraging you and always there to call you out if you need it, and trust me sometimes I did. Walking into John Wai, you feel warm and welcome. It reminds me of Cheers "Where every body knows your name, and they are always glad you came". Not only do they offer a gym where you can really reach those goals that you want, they offer more, they offer an amazing community, a family. Walking into a new gym is often scary and you always run into these cliques, but this place is the only place I have never ever experienced that. From the owner down to the newest member everyone is happy, helpful, and friendly. Tucked away in the back of a tiny plaza in the middle of Plantation, this place really is a diamond in the rough. I know when I leave again at the end of my holiday this will be one place that I will always miss, not matter where I go and I will always look forward to visiting when I come back. If you are really looking for a place to workout and meet amazing people, this is the place to go!

My experience is limited to the classes through Groupon:…read more Pros: -Instructors are friendly and enthusiastic. -They give you free boxing gloves with a Groupon deal. Cons: -After a first class, they grab you and go over one year membership (very pushy!!). -It is difficult to reserve a spot. They only allow you to reserve one class at a time if you are not a regular member. -You can only reserve a spot in person or by calling. However, they are only available to answer your call a couple hours before the evening classes. -When you finally get a chance to talk to them, the classes are full. The instructor told me that they can only allow 4 beginners per class. Thus, although the classes weren't full, I couldn't take the class. In conclusion, it just took too much effort to take a class and enjoy the workout.

I had a great workout here. I have never tried pilates and was looking for something different…read morethat offered a different experience and an intense workout. This place checked all of the boxes. When I arrived with my friend, the door was locked, which was odd because the studio was open and a class was going on. After struggling to open the door, a young woman unlocks the door as if nothing happened. No greeting and no apology for us waiting outside struggling to get in. Totally bizarre behavior from a customer service standpoint. For this studio, they tell you prior that you must wear grippy socks and that if you do not have, you can purchase right there at the studio. Great! It would be nice if they also included the price of their own socks on their website/confirmation email and text when booking. All I know is that we spent $47 for two pairs of socks. These are now the most expensive pair of socks that I own, and for what reason? Novelty? Price is not the issue, it's the lack of transparency that I did not like. I was visiting the area, so I naturally did not pack a pair of socks and didn't think it would be a big deal to purchase from the studio. Because honestly, how much could they be charging for said socks? I am drowning at home in plenty of trampoline park socks that I've had to purchase because I have children. And I can tell you that those socks are about six dollars. So I expected to spend no more than $10 on these socks. Make sure you bring your own. I also found it strange that no one answered the phone when I tried to call during normal business hours and would have to leave a message? Then I received a text message but it took about 4 hours before someone responded to my message about booking a class for the next day. The negative stuff aside, the rest of the experience was pleasant and the instructor was amazing and gave good genuine feedback. Never having used a reformer machine before, they gave us the rundown on how to use one and if they noticed anyone struggling or if their form was off, they came around to help.

All of the instructors here are awesome. My favorites are Alan and Amy. They are really attentive to their clients. They ensure you are executing the movements correctly and motivate you to not quit even when you feel like doing so! Bang for your buck right? Their passion exudes through their energetic/caring instruction in class. Keep in mind, these workouts are high intensity and not traditional Pilates. It's a modern spin inspired by Pilates and Lagree using an Xformer . Another thing to note, this location is not as overtly eye-catching as the Midtown location but the overall vibes, cleanliness, and upbeat music is still intact. I do prefer the spaciousness of this studio. What a great brand all in all. The only down fall, in my opinion, is that this location is not on Class Pass, which is a new endeavor for me because hopping around is fun. However, this studio is so worth a membership if commitment is your thing! If you are ready to Tremble, literally, face your fears and book a class ASAP, you won't regret the pain.
