Let's start off by saying I hate beer-or so I thought. The bartender was super nice and knowledgeable about all the beers and the beers are all local. I tried about 5 different beers (that included 1 cider) and liked them all! Solid State also has pinball machines and fun games that we played for hours. Newly discovered spot in an unlikely area. Unassuming door opens into a nice, clean and trendy looking bar away from the woodside noise. They offer a good list of craft beers, board games and pinball machines in the back. Bartender is super friendly and the drinks are always perfectly poured or mixed. On Sundays, you can enjoy playing some classic SNES games on their mini that's connected to a projector. Definitely a yet to be discovered gem. read more

This beer bar is a true gem. I love their rotating draught selection and friendly servers. I come about once a month and am always impressed with the quality and variety of their draughts. I can't wait for the inside to re-open that way I can enjoy the board games and pinball. read more

To the girl complaining about the wine it's a beer bar they got 20 beers on tap you want good wine go to a wine bar sheesh. Also they serve cheap ramen . Who knew ramen was a bar food but it works . A great variety of affordable beers and ciders on tap! So many creative options that differ from your typical beers. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations and samples before ordering to make sure we know what we're getting into. There was a cider my friend was considering ordering. The bartender asked if she had tried it before. When she said no, he gave her a sample first because he was looking out for her. (It had a very strong and unusual taste.) He saved her from being stuck with a drink she would have hated! The music was also fun. Good vibe with ample seating and tons of board games to play if pinball is not your thing. read more

This place is awesome! I feel so comfortable when I am there, The service and bartender was great as well as the selection of beers and cocktails. There is a great 80s vibe with all the pinball machines, and board games available. All they need now is some great 80s music pumping through the speakers. Place is a bit easy to miss as I did not see a sign outside. It's a wooden storefront with a huge wooden door. Don't miss it or you'll be sorry! read more

Really like this bar. Never had an issue here. Bartenders are wonderful. Beer is great. But now there's a new bartender who likes to be super racist for some reason. Not sure what his deal is. Aside from the racism. Stood at the bar with for almost 10 minutes waiting for him to take my order. There were two other patrons at the bar sitting together. He wasn't paying anyone any kind. Maybe he wasn't racist. Maybe just the laziest man on the planet? read more

Awesome hidden gem in Woodside. I live in Astoria but came for a friend's bday who lives in the area. There wasn't clear signage outside (The bar is newish), but once inside I loved it. Great local craft beer selection on tap, vintage pinball machines in the back, fair prices, and personable bartenders. Also, just watching the bartenders make some of the signature cocktails, you can tell they take great pride in what they do. I do not make it to Woodside often, but will be back when I do. read more

Great new bar. I came for the craft beer selection (which is great and all from NY state) and the board games (also a good selection; I assume bringing your own wouldn't be a problem either). Was happy to see all the pinball machines in the back. The atmosphere is dark and cozy, though there's plenty of space for large parties. It just opened but already has a good bit of character. Can't remember where I read about this place but so glad I found out about it. We decided to check it out to see what the pinball situation was like and to grab a drink before heading to dinner. I wish they would get better wine. I've even suggested as much, to no avail. Everyone knows Long Island reds are gross, and the only white they offer isn't great (not that I want to drink white wine through the winter anyway). I play trivia there, and I would spend sooo much more money if the wine was drinkable. Instead, I'm one and done with a beer, and I eat food that they kindly let us bring in from outside, creating virtually no revenue from me. Let me give you my business! read more

Best pinball spot in Queens, by far. All the machines are in excellent condition and they are all setup on a brand new floor so everything is nice and level and the games feel really sturdy. Awesome selection of games, not just a "best of", there's a great mix of classic and newer stuff that feels thoughtfully curated. The tables i played were fast and smooth and the pinball area feels purposefully built out with small drink tables nestled between the games. The vibe was low key but local populated on a Tuesday night, and they've got a great selection of drafts at the bar. Fully stocked selection of board games and a friendly staff make this gorgeously built out spot a no-brainer hangout. Love it, check it out! read more

Huge area to chill and play board games or pinball in back Without food I hesitated to give 4 stars but they are supposedly going to have food in near future.
