The first slice I tried had noticeably thicker crust, and even the cheese came out rubbery and tough. Later slices were better with thinner dough and far less chew. Found this place in the pouring rain on Yelp between doctor's visit for an acute neck sprain and I was hoping it was relaxing and cozy - it isn't - but it is absolutely delicious! tucked into an athletic club, the food was fresh, perfectly prepared and the young proprietor (who happens to be handsome ladies) was accommodating and helpful. the vibe is cold, athletic club so not a destination restaurant but if you have fine taste and a healthy diet this is a great new spot for a quick and delicious meal.

Here's my list of concerns: COST: I suspect that buying from FTF is similarly priced to buying at Whole Foods, which bums me out, because I want to eat a raw diet, and it's hard to afford, even buying directly from the farm! Why is it as costly as Whole Foods? VARIETY: Although I can remove items I do not want included, I cannot add items (or favorites) to replace the items that I do not want. WHAT I LIKE: What keeps me buying a box every week is the flavor! I guess it is because it was recently picked off a tree or out of the ground. Also, the produce is organic which means it's not as pretty, and often smaller, but it's the real thing and the taste is amazing. COMPETITION: There are several farms in the nearby areas, but they use pesticides ... Underwood Farms is close by, and they claim they do not use pesticides ... their prices are similar, but you can pick it up and choose items. They're truly local. Next I'm buying organic produce from Abundant Harvest - a California co-op that supports California farmers. I will need to pick up my box as opposed to having it delivered, but I don't care about that. The cost seems less than what I've been paying, but I've just signed up and have not received my first box yet ... I'll post an addendum to this after I do.

When you press it, it springs back softly just as the best fresh pizzas should. It also leaves a little dust on your fingers, typical of finer pies such as this. There's just the right amount of char to add lots of character to the pizza as well. The marinara has good flavor and the cheese is certainly no low grade product. I love that the pizzas are the perfect size for a hungry individual and you could get multiple styles without needing to reserve a whole shelf in your fridge for leftovers. Delivery was very reasonable and accurately forecasted by the person who took the order. I'm hoping to try this again and hopefully include one of their sweet pizzas.

There's a story, and a reasonably happy ending to all of this. I was able to figure this out because when our order got short by a significant amount of food, I went looking to see if I could get this resolved at the restaurant. meanwhile, DoorDash was failing significantly (doorDash resolution when called was to offer an "email within three hours".) The Wings Out address that is shown online doesn't actually exist as an independent address. Wings Out also does not post a phone number for the local store. I figured out the location and the tie into Dave & Buster's when I got back home after my first failed search. Looking carefully at the map of the local mall, and not finding any such a suite number, I guessed at the overlap. I called the Dave & Buster's in Thousand Oaks in the Janss Mall and their staff both confirmed Wings Out was inside the operation, and was smart enough to kick my call to the general manager. I'll give the front line Dave and Buster staff credit for problem-solving. Meanwhile, their general manager, Nick Wilson, deserves some real credit for solving the problem. He offered to have the missing part of the order remade on the spot, ready to go in 15 minutes. I walked in the front door as Nick was walking up the main aisle with the to-go order in his hand . He had doubled the missing Wings Out order at no charge. We had time for a little chat about how well his crew and Nick himself resolved the problem, and I thanked him for his effort. BTW, the wings are really good.
