This isn't the trendy, brightly lit coffee shop that's designed for Instagram. Instead, it's a cozy little café where every drink feels like it was made with heart. As a family-owned bakery and coffee shop, they offer a delicious selection of freshly baked pastries, bagels, and cinnamon rolls that make it hard to choose just one. I ordered the vanilla latte with oat milk, and it did not disappoint. Their house-made vanilla syrup gave the latte a rich, creamy flavor that was absolutely delicious. While I was there, Mayra had just pulled a fresh batch of matcha cinnamon rolls out of the oven, and I'm so glad I gave one a try--it was warm, soft, and incredible. Located directly across the street from Basta and Honey Cup, La Cereza is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. I really hate to do this but our experience was really disappointing…read more I was looking around for local bake shops & bakers, other than the popular Bundt or Arleens, because we wanted something special for my friends birthday. I found Cake and Love, saw the reviews and thought "why not?" I love supporting local small businesses. I knew the designs weren't up to par compared to other places, however I read that the cakes tasted really good. My friend Marc ordered them and requested 4 cupcakes but the owner said she could only do a dozen. The design requested for the cupcakes was to write the name on 4 and the rest with birthday + Halloween designs. And he ordered four different flavors. She had a week to prepare and offered to drop them off. Not only was she an hour late, but she practically rushed off without giving us a chance to look at the cupcakes to check them. You can only imagine our disappointment when we opened the box. It looked absolutely terrible, rushed and as if a child decorated these. These cupcakes were for an adult. The taste was just ok too. The chocolate cakes were mushy, the red velvet were dry and the other two were 'eh.' It was too late to find something else so we sucked it up and used them to sing happy birthday anyway. Regardless if there was any mis-communication, this is not acceptable. And I feel that we deserve a refund.

Our favorite is their wild berry yogurt cake, but we have also tried some of their other cakes, including the tiramisu, and have enjoyed them all. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. I recently picked up a birthday cake and had the birthday message written on a chocolate sheet. The whole process took only a few minutes, which was especially convenient. Their cakes come in small, medium, and large sizes. The larger sizes can sell out, so if you need a medium or large cake, it's probably best to order ahead. I recommend this place to all who enjoy a heart healthy treat!

The service was great as well, they were friendly and welcoming and answered all my questions. suggested I definitely I ended up picking up a chocolate and hazelnut cake with an incredibly soft, spongy interior that was perfectly balanced and rich without being overwhelming. I also grabbed a single serving of the blueberry cheesecake, which was light, airy, and still decadently satisfying--definitely worth every spoonful. The rum babas were a standout: bite-sized, soaked in Jamaican rum, filled with Chantilly cream, and topped with a raspberry. So flavorful and unique--each bite was indulgent without being too heavy. And then there was the Velina cake... oh my goodness. A beautiful sponge layered with chocolate mousse and hazelnut mousse, all covered in a glossy dark chocolate glaze. It was so rich and decadent that I had to slow myself down just to fully enjoy every bite. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully made, and worth the drive. I'd absolutely come back again.
