This is super specific, but it seemed strange they didn't have handles on both sides of the doors in the steam sauna. While I knew this when booking. I was very surprised that the rate per person is the same for using the space. If you are reserving it for a set time, there should be a discounted rate for additional people. We were glad we went, but I think they could definitely make it more affordable for couples or groups while still charging extra for the cleaning and washing of the additional towels and robes.

An IR Sauna was just what I needed after a busy day. I was greeted by Roland, who gave me a short…read moretour and answered my questions. It was a 40-minute sauna, which also included Halotherapy. Halotherapy is a fine salt mist that supports respiratory health, skin clarity and relaxation. I can say I took deep breaths during the 20 minutes it ran and I could feel my lungs opening up. I started by choosing my temperature of 50 (the range is 30-70), and I like a good sweat but not overly extreme. I was sweating at about 15 minutes in and could feel the heat in my bones shortly thereafter. There is a screen for me to select between YouTube or Netflix (no commercials, my choice of program), and I chose a mellow autumn screen with gentle music. The lights in the sauna are adjustable to my liking, and the red glow from the heat lamps gave me a nice glow that did not need any other lights or brightness. Drink lots of water before, during, and after your session. They sell LMNT waters and additives if you prefer to bring your own water. There is also a bottle filler for free. There are two types of sauna rooms: the standard and the shower room. The standard room has a chair, hooks, and sufficient room to change and towel off. The shower room is ADA accessible, with a level floor and a bit larger sauna area. There is no cost difference between the two. However, the bench in the standard room was too narrow for me to lie on with my elbows at my sides. (I am not a large woman, and I had to lock my hands on my stomach to keep one from falling off the edge of the bench. But the shower room has a bit wider bench (or so Roland told me later), and that bench can be pulled away from the wall if preferred. I wish I had had this info before I got settled in. Wheelchairs will fit in all areas of this business and access is easy, including the bathrooms. The entire area was pristine, clean, and ready for use. After I finished, my bones felt nice and warm for the next 2 hours, at least. I slept well, and this morning I feel physically comfortable and fully relaxed. I can understand the benefits of having an IR Sauna regularly, and I plan to do so.

I thought it was a little strange having to take off my shoes upon entry (spa sandals were provided). Had I had nicer shoes on, I wouldn't have wanted to just leave them by the front door for anyone to take if they felt so inclined. I learned later (after my massage) that there are lockers in the bathroom. I assume I could have locked my shoes up if I had wanted, but that wasn't offered to me. I was promptly greeted by my massage therapist (Ty) after I filled out some new client paperwork. She showed me to the treatment room, and it was truly the nicest one I had ever been in. I LOVED the up lighting in the room. It added a calming glow to an otherwise dark room. Not only did my therapist read my chart, but she sat down and discussed my wants/needs for my 75 minute session. You don't get that kind of personal interaction at larger day spas. Some of those spas are more like a "one size fits all" quantity over quality places. That is not the case here. My massage was WONDERFUL. It was the right amount of therapeutic and relaxing, and the use of warm towels was the cherry on top. Ty addressed my areas of concern and took the time after my massage to tell me her findings. I have definitely found my new place to go to for massage. I see no reason to go anywhere else now unless I'm out of town. I wish I would have stopped in sooner! The massage therapist was kind and welcoming but I noticed that she had on an earbuds-type headset that she wore around the back of her neck. OK, maybe she listens to something that gets her into her groove but several times during the massage she seemed to drift her focus away from me: only one hand on my body that seemed to just stop in mid stroke or repeated massaging the same area over and over and over again, each time getting deeper than the medium touch we had discussed. I even could hear another sound in the room other than the soothing music that was playing. Was that coming from her earpieces? She also spent so much time on my back side that by the time she asked me to flip over the massage was almost done. She just seemed distracted. I will go back but to my usual therapist who has always kept me 100% the focus of her attention.
