I have been shopping here for more than 4 years; usually purchasing separates and jewelry. MJ is a small boutique in Haddonfield that offers upscale trendy and some signature clothing and jewelry. Simplistically decorated and designed with the items being the main focus of the boutique. Great dual window displays envelope the entrance of the store. Usually once you enter the store there are clearance racks on the left and right side offering at least 25%+ discounts. The range of prices for many of the regular priced items range from mid-higher end cost that are quite affordable for some staple pieces that can remain in your wardrobe for several years while some are just seasonal. Right in front of you is a table with either shirts, sweaters, scarves, pants, etc. and half body mannequins adorned with the latest fashionable top accented with jewelry. The shop offers 2 dressing rooms with full length mirrors as well as there is one outside of the dressing room which is massive near the check out counter. Each time I go to MJ I find some lovely item to mix and match with an article of clothing I already own. Today was not exception, as I purchased a black, gold and silver metallic-like top with cropped sleeves to be worn to an upcoming function. Can't say enough about Maxwell James as it is a lovely woman-owned small boutique. There was a section with clothes for brides for showers or bachelorettes. The owner of the store was there when I went. She is super helpful and friendly. She offered us bottled water. She had my husband come in to the store to sit in AC while I shopped. She even shared where she bought the mirror (Sam's Club) Definitely a positive shopping experience!

Yvonne and Devon immediately made me feel comfortable at my appointment-- along with my mom and maid of honor. They understood my style, and only pulled dresses in my price range, which was about the lowest price at their store (~$1200). I went during a trunk show, when all dresses were 15% off. They never made me feel less than for looking at their lowest price gowns, and did not try to upsell me, either! I had 10+ gorgeous dresses in my style and price range to try on -- and guess what. I ended up changing my mind about my initial dress. I called back the next day, and they allowed me to credit my deposit to another dress in the store (they gave me a long second appointment to try on more dresses to confirm which one I wanted).They continued to be so kind, taking me through multiple fittings with their preferred seamstress. She made my dress fit like a second skin, which really brought my dress to the next level of breathtaking. I see some negative reviews on this page, and I just want to counter them with my extremely positive experience. There is nothing we did, or nothing about us, to "deserve" special treatment, so I really think my experience is an absolutely fair representation of Devon and Yvonne (the owner). They were so kind to us, and made the experience of my multiple fittings dreamy and fun!!

I spoke with Yvonne a year ago to see if the date was available. She told me it was and put me in the books and said she would send a contract/invoice when it got closer. I contacted her two months before the wedding. One email, and a few phone messages I finally got her when she answered the phone and she assured me that I was all set and I would be getting a contract soon. Two weeks before the wedding, after receiving nothing, I emailed her twice and she ignored those. I then left three voice messages and she also ignored those. Needless to say, I did not have a dresser for my daughter even though I was assured that I would. Everything went just fine on that special day but I would be very hesitant if I were a bride searching for a gown and having to put my trust in Yvonne and Country Way Bridal. Stay away!

It's a relationship the offers the workers/owners a fair price for their goods. This is important for independence and in many cases survival. On each shelf or hanger there is a story. Most items come with information about the artist or business owner. The owner of this store enthusiastically touts information about all of the items. Her zeal, passion and friendliness is another reason to stop by. My purchase was a beautiful blouse made in Thailand and a small change dish made in Kenya. The prices were more than fair and I'm enjoying my purchase. The shopping experience gave me a feel good moment. Would I shop here again? For sure!
