Great place to get you started, keep you motivated and push to your limits. Whatever you are looking for they can help. They do it as a community and work like a family.

CONSUMER BEWARE!!! These are scam artists at its best, and the front office staff leaves a lot to be desired. I've been back and forth to Soldierfit over the years and to be honest, outside of the Dawn, Antoine, and Nick, the rest you should be cautious of. There has been major overhauls of structure over the years, and never does SF apprise their members of what's happening or what to expect with new changes. You are forced to sign your life away into a 12 month agreement, and their pricing tiers are grossly overpriced. They just hired a new recruitment manager, Fatima, and let's just say I should've trusted my gut instinct from the beginning. This was a HUGE step in the WRONG direction when this position was taken from Antoine. She is manipulative, she is a liar, and she is a horrible person to put at the face of recruitment. She doesn't understand her job, will throw you under the bus to protect her own image with the company, and attempts to regurgitate information without truly understanding what she's saying. Before signing up again, there was an issue with a past balance from years ago whom Russell in their billing department graciously forgave. Before that, Fatima and I had a discussion about this not once, not twice, but a few times and she promised it could be forgiven (before consulting with HQ) in addition to waiving the enrollment fee. I came in to sit down and enroll, she pulled up my old account and seemed to process everything through (including my first month payment) without issue. That is until I received an e-mail the following day from the Soldierfit system saying ' they couldn't process the balance on my account' which I was confused about since I had JUST paid. Well, Fatima also got a copy of this email and never reached out to me and swept it under the rug until I brought it to their attention. She then curved me and told me to talk to Dawn at the front desk who has never handled any of my billing. She also made up some story about there only being a balance from 2 waters on my account, that there wasn't anything else she saw which was untrue being as though I never even had outstanding water charges on my account. Come to find out, the system was attempting to charge me my outstanding balance from 2014/2015 and attempted to use my new card on file for payment. Listen, if SF had decided that I needed to pay this, fine, but to be intentionally misled by Fatima who is only about meeting membership quota at any cost and sacrifice necessary was infuriating! I could've been out money that I was promised would've been forgiven. She put blame on everyone else instead of taking responsibility for her wrongdoing...strike 1... I subsequently signed up for their $59/month plan (only because a friend I referred wanted to sign up) that allows you to workout up to 2x a week, no more than 8x a month. I originally chose this plan because I am a business owner, mother, and in school, so I could not commit to more. Upon seeing how hectic my schedule had become, I figured that since I had paid for 8 classes, I should be able to use all 8 classes within that particular billed month. When I called to confirm this, NOBODY knew the answer to this...not surprising considering they just threw this membership tier level out there pretty randomly, moving from their $99 a month base pricing. Anyway, I got in contact with Fatima who said 'she'd heard' I had some questions about this and that I HAD to take my 2x a week or I lost them. I NEVER was told this when signing up NOR did they have this as fine print on the contract I signed. She said they 'legally' can enforce this even though I was not given this info before committing to a contract. While she was eating in my ear, she condescendingly attempted to 'mock' my concern and, without thought, offer a cancellation instead of working to retain my business and make it right. She never once apologized for making this mistake by not divulging this information, because again, her image with the company....strike 2 I called today to talk to HQ about my concern and Fatima made sure to be the one who answered the phone, only to deflect me to Russell (accounting manager???) to talk about an issue with an employee, her....even though I know that they now have a HQ employee on site whom I'm sure Fatima has brainwashed by now. She had spread rumors amongst people that she FORCED me into a cancellation when that clearly wasn't the case. She's a horrible, horrible image for Soldierfit and definitely not what Danny built this company on. I'm not surprised considering she was on Facebook begging for someone to hire her just a few weeks before coming to Soldierfit. I'll miss the trainers and especially Dawn and Antoine, but the shady business that Fatima is creating I cannot subject myself to and I'm sure more troops will back out eventually....

How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.

That was over a year ago and I'm still 20 lbs lighter than when I started - AND my last physical has me still in great health! Working with Grant was a life changing experience for me. His kind nature and genuine care for his clients is evident in how he advises and trains each individual. It wasn't just me! I first met Grant at his indoor cycling classes at Revolve, and his rides were and always are mentally and physically tough. I had started to build up my endurance and strength through cycling, but the thought of trying out MyBootcamp was still intimidating. I mean, c'mon - I saw pictures of MyBootcampers pulling tires, slamming firehoses, and tossing sandbags. I thought I wouldn't survive my first session last March, but afterward I actually felt like a complete badass. I whipped that firehose and learned how to properly do kettlebell swings, among other things. Plus I was the only girl there (thanks Matteo, Rob, and Neal for letting me kick your butts that day :). (Side note: most sessions are filled with fit, athletic and attractive ladies, so all the single men in DC should definitely sign up... just sayin' ;) ) Four months later and I'm incredibly proud of how strong I've become because of MyBootcamp. Grant and Chris have taught me how to really push myself mentally and physically. They know exactly when and how to push me to get past my comfort zone, and because of that, my endurance/strength/mobility levels are at the highest they've ever been. Now I'm addicted to improving those levels with each workout, and my two favorite "Grant-isms" that stick with me every time are 1) There is never perfection, only progress; and 2) Being strong is only good if it's actually useful. Other things that I love about MyBootcamp? I love that the workouts are outdoors; I love the camaraderie; I love the new mobile app which makes managing your MyBootcamp addiction even easier; and most importantly, I love how much Grant and his team care about you. When my card expired, I told them to pause or cancel, figuring they couldn't charge so I was done for now. But the they called and said I owe for the month my card expired *and* the next month because of a 30-day cancellation policy--plus they threatened collections if I didn't come in to pay and cancel officially. Yes, I should've canceled sooner and I bet they have contracts and policies. But after years of being such a loyal advocate telling everyone how great it is and loving it myself , I would have appreciated a little flexibility. Maybe paying only one month when I was ready to cancel and bending the rule for me. I know they can they have specials all the time. Instead, they wouldn't budge, leaving a bad taste after so many positive experiences. If you're thinking of canceling, don't wait--do it right away or you'll pay for extra months. It's disappointing that a company I once loved would treat a loyal customer this way. Sadly, I don't think I'll be going back to this location if I ever want to go back.

Sounds like I'm not the only one to say beware of extra charges according to other reviews…read more I was visiting from another location and used one of my passes to take a class at this location. I am aware that my location is typically lower on pricing so there could be an up-charge, however, I am used to being notified of any charges that I would occur when I am checking in to a new location for the first time. The front desk person was cheerful, however, when she asked me for a credit card to just keep on file there was no mention of any charges I would incur and said no charges would be made, it was just to ensure a card was on file for future use. Apparently future used meant immediately after my class without notification. I don't remember who the coach was, but she was just OK. I understand most OT classes these days don't typically use the rower as much as they used to or at least that's what it seems. I always like to start on the tread or rower to get my heart rate up and get the most bang for my buck out of my OT workout. I don't know why they have you start on a rower or only to mention that you will be getting off a minute or two later and starting on the floor. It would be nice to know that when you sign up for your starting position before class starts. Once I noticed this, I mentioned I would prefer to switch to the tread, but the coach told me to proceed with the group I signed with and to go to the floor even though they were open treads. I've always had rather good experiences at any location I've been to as I travel a lot and like to check out gyms in other locations... So I will say this was a first to be disappointed by OT. If you're local, I'm sure it's fine... If you're traveling, I would maybe try a different location or at least beware that you will probably be charged without notification for whatever they decide that day.

It took me about 10-12 classes to begin forming my own preferences. Also, this place is very clean compared to other gyms - required wipedown of the machines/equipment after usage. There is a bit of a learning curve when you start, but once you do start with the routine of the place, it becomes very enjoyable to be there. I also like the payment options because you are not always locked down for a year at a time. You have the option to do monthly or even 6 months at a lower rate. If you are traveling, you can pay a fee to hold the month. I really do appreciate the flexibility, especially since I have month-long international vacations coming up. The heart rate monitors are finicky at times and are not entirely accurate, but it is still a good motivator. I like watching the screen just to see how much I am exerting or where I am compared to others. If I am the only one chilling in blue, then it lets me know that I am the slacker in the room. For me, I was never a runner. I could barely run a block without wanting to stop. After coming here, I was shocked I was able to do these extended running blocks and still keep going. I am able to see some improvement in performance after a month. Now, everything above applies to OTF (OrangeTheory Fitness) in general. The reason why this location is such a great place is its staff and location. It is tucked away in the corner of the shopping center farthest away from the busy area near Harris Teeter. They do have a parking area right next to them that extends all around. Also, it is walkable to this location from my house, so ice, rain, snow, etc. do not affect me and my schedule. When I signed up, I was a bit skeptical and was unsure how I would fit in with everyone else. However, the staff here are all so nice. I was actually taken aback when I came back for my second day and the staff already said hello using my name. I thought it was a fluke at first, but till this day, they have greeted me with smiles and laughter. Whenever I had issues with the heart rate monitors, they are always prompt in trying to address the issue. I have always felt like I could depend on them when I run into problems. The coaches all have their own personalities, but the best thing is that they are not intimidating at all. They help you when they see your form is off - mostly through whispering. They give high fives coming in and out of the work out area. Some of them crack jokes during the workout, which does add a good comedic value considering all you are thinking about is when you can walk on the treadmill. Overall, I am glad that I started coming to this location and highly recommend it for at least a try.
