We recently bought a home with solar panels already installed (our first experience with solar) and had Justin with Solar Tune Up come out for an inspection and cleaning. He was on time, easy to communicate with, and very reasonably priced. He also provided a clear assessment with helpful photos soon after the visit. A few months later, after an HVAC replacement, our solar suddenly stopped working. Justin responded quickly - even on a Sunday - and scheduled a follow-up visit within a few days. The issue turned out to be a simple fix, and he didn't charge for the trip out, which we really appreciated. He was also very patient in helping talk through my concerns before the visit and explaining everything in a clear, helpful way, which made learning a new system much less stressful. We don't expect off-hours responses or no charge follow-ups for an issue they didn't cause (even for an easy fix), but it reflects the level of care we personally experienced with this wonderful company. Overall, highly recommend Solar Tune Up. read more

I appreciate Justin and Solar Tuneup. He was quick to respond, great communication, and great prices . My original solar installer mapping wad wrong and the app location did not reflect actual location on roof. He had to lift all 8 panels to find the bad inverter. Justin normally would have charged more because of the extra work, but he honored his original price. I appreciate that Justin. read more

Justin is a true solar professional. He came on time and went right to work. He fixed the system and got our solar to generate power again. He is very knowledgeable and explained how my solar works. And his pricing is so fair and reasonable. read more

Justin was incredibly responsive, scheduling a visit to diagnose the problem this morning. He was on-time, early even, and quickly identified the error code and problem with our solar panel system. While he was not certified for our specific required repair, he helped us troubleshoot and even contacted our inverter supplier to ensure we are still under warranty. Would've hired Justin had he been able to do the work; really appreciated him coming out to help us even so. read more

I feel like I hit the jackpot when I contacted Solar Tune Up. Not only was my problem solved, but I was given a lesson on what to do if the issue should return. Justin, the owner, arrived on time and quickly went to work. He was very helpful and professional. I really appreciated his help and his advice. Super nice guy. Really helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend! He went above and beyond to answer my questions.

Justin from Solar Tune-Up came out on short notice and knocked it out of the park. He was friendly from the start, took the time to walk me through everything, and did a solid job diagnosing the panels and giving them a thorough cleaning. I really appreciated how clearly he explained how SCE handles generation and feeding power back to the grid -- it finally made sense. Pricing was fair too. Overall, a great experience and I'd definitely use him again. read more

I was looking to have my solar removed, paint my roof, then re-installed AND have my Micro-Invertors upgraded while doing so. Justin and his crew NAILED this task - with flying colors. Justin was very responsive to text and calls, everyone was there on time when scheduled. Excellent communication and literally went above and beyond (helped me get extra roof tiles) They had to deal with a horrible original installation, re-run electrical wiring and piping - I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER ANY solar work you need - Solar Tuneup is it. read more

Excellent service! Had a wonderful experience with Solar Tuneup. They completed an inspection of our solar panels and determined why our system was not generating much energy...all for a reasonable price. Scheduling was easy, and communication after the inspection was top notch. They are very knowledgeable and provided notes with pictures. They even helped with troubleshooting on the manufacturer side. So happy with this company, can't say enough good things. Will be using them again. read more

Justin came out to evaluate an issue with my solar inverter. Most contractors were demanding a steep upfront service fee just to step foot and evaluate the issue; Justin did not. In fact, payment was not requested until the issue was resolved. Also, Justin was able to come on short notice, about a few days out. I absolutely recommend Solar Tuneup for anyone who needs an honest and local contractor for their solar issues! read more

Follow up review. Justin was out to wash and inspect my system today. He discovered wind-damage to some of the panel supports likely the result of the high-winds we experienced during the January Santa Ana's that stoked the Palisades and Altadena fires. He will be out later this week to repair the damage. This underscores the need to have your system checked yearly and not only just cleaned. He provides photos of the problem areas in need of repair. Until I met Justin I simply had these electrical devices on my roof and forgot about them. Now I know better. read more

Justin did a wonderful and thorough job. He came out and exceed my current situation which ended up being a broken inverter, but it was still under warranty so we handled that and all went well. read more

Had a really positive experience with Solar Tune. Justin, the owner, was on time, professional, and clearly knows his stuff. He not only got the job done but also gave me some useful pointers on how to keep my solar system running at its best. Great service from start to finish -- highly recommend! read more

In my experience the best way to contact Solar Tuneup was through Yelp as opposed to calling in. After requesting a quote through Yelp I was contacted in less than an hour to schedule an appointment. Solar Tuneup did exactly what I was hoping for. $200 for a diagnostic; they found and corrected the problem I had been having with my system. Very happy with what they did, and I am hoping to use them in the future when I need an upgrade/repair. I highly recommend Solar Tuneup. read more

My husband and I met with a few solar specialists to discuss our specific situation and needs. Of the few representatives we spoke to, Justin provided us with the best solution to our problem. Not only did Justin presented us with a knowledgeable and feasible solution, his approach and suggestions addressed our concerns and energy usage. His team was equally impressive; they worked efficient, timely, and respectfully! We highly recommend Solar Tuneup and are grateful to Justin and his team!! read more

I highly recommend Solar Tuneup For servicing of your solar panels and for cleaning them. They are extremely professional, Knowledgeable and prompt! One of our micro inverters on our solar panel system went bad after 11 years. GCI solar originally installed them in 2014 but I believe GCI solar sold the business a few years later to another company, and they have since gone out of business. Enphase Energy monitors our system and we are also able to check it through the Enphase app on our phone as well as on the computer. At any rate one of our solar panels hasn't been working for a couple of months so there has been no output from that solar panel. I contacted Enphase energy and they sent us a new micro-inverter at no charge because it is still under warranty. Yay! The next step was to find a solar company that could do the install. I contacted one company and it took them over three weeks just to get me an estimate and the estimate I thought was rather high for the amount of work. Last Friday I contacted Justin at Solar Tuneup in Orange CA. He said he was very familiar with GCI Solar's work and that he would be able to install the micro-inverter and clean our solar panels at the same time. He would register it with Enphase energy so that it would be monitored like the rest of our solar panels and the correct serial number would show in our monitoring system. Justin got us scheduled for the following Monday. He was here this morning with Apollo and they did a superb job. Great communication, professional service, and they completed the job for a reasonable price. My solar panels are clean and look great and they are all working perfectly. I will definitely hire Solar Tuneup the next time I need my solar panels cleaned or any repair work done. read more

5 stars! I need my solar panels cleaned so I reached out on yelp for some estimates. Justin called me back same day and we set up an appointment the following week. When they got there I got my solar numbers checked first so we can compare with after the cleaning. Was in and out in maybe 45 min! Thanks again and I will call again when I need my panels cleaned again. read more

I emailed Justin and he responded right away, we setup a time for him to be at my house and he was there, took care of everything and then checked to make sure the repairs for my inverter were working. I already recommended him to a buddy and he is just great. Justin is the only person I will call for me solar panels going forward. read more

I have used Solar Tuneup twice now. Very knowlegeable, experienced, and helpful. Justin detected the equipment performance problems, then dealt with the manufacturer to get the faulty equipment replaced under warranty. What a great experience! Justin was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about every solar. He told us what the issue was and explained everything so that we could understand it without question. There was so much I didn't know! Just like everything, you have to maintain your equipment. His partner Apolo was awesome! He did great work on the panels and the install! These are people you can trust and I highly recommend them. Service your solar panels and use these guys to do it! read more

I just want to say that Justin is a pleasure to work with. He communicates well, is responsive, and treats you like a valued client. I've worked with other solar companies before, and I'm used to getting the runaround and delays, but not with Justin. He got me set up within days, and is still very responsive to my questions after the install. I'm very happy and grateful that I found Justin to do this work. Highly Recommended. read more

Justin arrived on time and cleaned the solar panels as well as checking to set if they were working. He even tightened a panel that was loose. It is a very professional job and I would definitely using again on any basis. read more

Really happy I trusted Justin and Solar Tuneup. Did not have the greatest experience with the last solar company. Justin is significantly more knowledgeable. He was always on point with appointments which is very important in my busy life. Hands down the go to guy for Solar. Highly recommended to my friends and family. read more

I had a re-roof project for which my solar panels needed to be removed and then re-installed (r&r) after the roof was complete. My solar panel company would not support the time frame for the re-roof. They also had a higher than acceptable price to remove and re-install. I reached out to several local companies that specialize in solar panel r&r. Justin and his worker both came to review the project. (Another company used a Google satellite image to provide a quote...not.) Justin not only laid out the details of what needed to happen, he let me know of upgrades that were necessary without upselling. He even re-positioned the panels for more effective use of our SoCal sunny days. His team worked with my roofing contractor to ensure the panels were removed prior to the roof demolition and the re-install occurred the day after the re-roof was complete. Let me not neglect to point out that the price was extremely competitive. Exceptional work, exceptional personalities. If you have solar panel requirements, reach out to Justin and Solar TuneUp, you won't be disappointed. read more

I'll try to be short. Our panels are on an ancient flat roof. We had to do some serious roof repairs. The panels were dirty, and aged and it showed. Justin and his team responded extremely fast, provided a very reasonable bid : to remove all panels, re install after roof repairs with re wiring and clean up and all that tough messy labor. Came in right on time, panels were off (30 of them). The roof was repaired and we applied a new silicon through out. Then again the solar tune up team, arrived back on time and re installed all, properly wired, and looking great. The experience and skill was obvious. So we got great communications. Skill and experience. Perfect time line, and reasonable price. That's a great package. Much appreciated. read more

I can't recommend Justin enough if you want someone to talk to for all your solar needs. It's rare these days to find someone who is genuinely looking out for your best interests. I have had multiple occasions dealing with other solar companies who were more interested in their bottom line than what is right for the customer: e.g., trying to turn a small project to add more panels to a bigger project and trick me to spend more money to replace my roof while I'm adding panels (which made no sense since the roof was perfectly fine and had no issues). I first met Justin back in 2021 when some of my Enphase panels were offline. He came out to quickly diagnose and fix the issues with some of the inverters. It was clear he was very knowledgeable but I was just as impressed with how honest and straightforward he was. Fast forward to 2025 and I reached out to him to get his insight into solar batteries. He came out and patiently explained everything without being pushy. We eventually settled on a plan to add some batteries to an existing system. After Justin spent many hours on his own dime explaining things over text and email, walking through my property, researching what is possible, etc., it turns out my house layout has some difficulties that make it challenging and more expensive than the original plan to work around. So we jointly decided it wasn't something I wanted to do given the new info. He quickly returned my deposit and maintained a friendly attitude the whole time. I think this really demonstrates his great customer service as he was just as pleasant at the end when he wasn't getting paid for all the time on this project as at the start when trying to win the business. Thank you Justin! read more

I have a solar system that was installed several years ago by a now out of business installer. I noticed on my app that a couple of panels had stopped producing. So I went to yelp and asked a couple of electricians for recommendations. Solar Tuneup was the only company to respond to my inquiry. Justin reached out to the manufacturer and processed the warranty claim. He received the replacement parts and came over and installed them. Then when it didn't solve the problem, he went back to the manufacturer and stayed on the phone for hours until he was able to get through and troubleshoot the problem. It needed a software update to get the new parts working with the older panels. I feel that Justin went over and above to ensure that we were taken care of and recommend his services wholeheartedly. If you are looking for someone to service your solar system, look no further. read more

Fantastic service from Justin at Solar Tuneup! I bought a rental house in Redlands with Solar City (now owned by Tesla) solar panels. I wanted someone to check that they were working OK, clean them and explain how the system controller works. Trying to contact Tesla was a complete waste of time, as was contacting several other solar companies via Yelp. Justin went out, checked the system, cleaned the panels and explained how the system works. He offered some options to upgrade the system, but also advised that the system would work fine without them. No hard sell or upselling here! And his charge was very reasonable. I'd thoroughly recommend Solar Tuneup and will use Justin again. read more

Incredible experience with Justin and Apolo troubleshooting my system. They are extremely friendly, very knowledgable, and do everything they say they're going to. I got a fast (and very reasonable) quote, they showed up exactly when they said they would, immediately identified the problems with my system and made quick work of getting it 100% up and running again. There are a lot of people in this field of which I know nothing about. I felt incredible confidence in Solar Tuneup. read more

I read in a previous post that Justin was "heaven sent", we couldn't agree more. Of course our solar system decided to stop producing power right as summer's starting to rev up. Justin came out at the promised time and gave us a honest evaluation on what's going on. Unfortunately, he could not help us with our issue, but he was gracious enough to recommend someone who could. Justin's integrity and professionalism is second to none and we highly recommend him for your solar needs! read more

I called Solar Tuneup because of the good reviews and I was not disappointed. Justin was able to schedule my job right away. He arrived on time and, like the other reviews, really knew his stuff. He explained about the Inverters box, the solar panels and much more. My panels were extremely dirty, and my last 2 months of electric bills were much higher than they have ever been since I install the panels. In cleaning my panels, my power increased significantly. He shared the before and after pictures of the panels and the before and after system testing power numbers. The cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend Solar Tuneup. read more

Justin at Solar Tuneup is a god send. I needed an Enphase micro inverter replaced. My old solar company went out of business and i was having a hard time finding someone to service the inverter. Justin was in constant contact with me from beginning to end and even afterwards he let me know when my system synced back up. Very happy with the service and knowing there are honest contractors out there that care about quality work and customer service. 5 stars are not even enough for this company. I cannot recommend enough. You will be very happy with this company. read more

I am thrilled to share my positive experience with Solar Tuneup. Justin has been professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to providing the best solar solution for my home. Justin has taken care of my solar needs several times and each time he did not disappoint but gained my trust and business even more. Justin is very informative and answers all my questions and addresses all my concerns. The other day our microinverters were not responding properly and we called Justin and he fixed the issue right away in a day. Most other businesses usually take about a week or two to respond but Justin is so prompt and trustworthy. Overall i highly recommend Justin at Solar tuneup for anyone considering Solar or need to service their solar equipment. Their exceptional service, quality products, and competitive pricing make them standout in the industry. Thank you again Justin for all that you do! read more
