I just had them bird proofing the entire side of solar panels and also installed bird spikes, btw bird proofing service includes a free solar panel cleaning. I found them through ads on Instagram. They have a 5 star reviews from Google, Yelp and Facebook. I have been looking for a bird proofing company for a while and I'm glad I found them on Instagram, so I decided to give them a try. They offer a free assessment before they provide any estimates. Carlos came in initially for inspection and was very transparent in answering all of my questions. The estimates they provided were very reasonable, not to high nor not too cheap. I would say they're in a middle as far as cost for the whole service. The estimates included details of what type of materials needed for the job. They use a premium 16-gauge steel mesh with a PVC coating to prevent rust, they also use stainless steel UV-Resistant zip ties (not plastic). The initial inspection report is also very clear and descriptive, and Carlos took a lot of images above and below the panels, as well as the current condition of the tiles. Jesse was the one that I work with scheduling the project. The project started a week after I approved the estimate. The day of the project, Carlos and Nate came back to do the work. Carlos was also very polite and transparent with the questions I have and the work to be completed. The whole job of clearing the debris, washing the panels, and bird proofing the full perimeter took about 3-4 hours total. I just have to say Nate did an excellent job of cleaning the side and the back of our house after all the bird droppings came down from cleaning the roof. After the work, Carlos provided some pictures of the work before/after completion and sent the detailed report and final invoice right after. The job also comes with a 1 yr standard warranty, but I decide to upgrade to a 10-yr warranty because with the upgrade price it will cover the 1 solar panel cleaning after a year. It was wonderful working with Jesse and Solar Express. He was very responsive to inquiries. Transparent. Flexible with scheduling, and arrived on time. He was very professional but also personable and friendly. For 40 panels, he charged me $150, which is a great deal. Spent about 2 hours up there cleaning each panel. They were spotless and clean after he was done. Even removed the debris that got stuck under the panels. Took multiple before and after pictures to show the difference and how dirty they were before. Brought all his own equipment to get the job done. He just uses your water but has a special filter on it to remove all the particulates in it. Honest as well, instead of being a typical salesman and pushing the diamond plan, which is cleaning every 3 months at a 20% discount, he said for the area and the amount of dust he would recommend the basic plan which is once every 6 months at a 10% discount. Nice to have someone do a service and not be so pushy with the maintenance plans. I immediately noticed a difference in solar production. Got a nice at least 10-20% boost from my old panels that haven't been cleaned for a year and that I haven't ever had professionally cleaned since they were installed 8 years ago. Even noticed a nice bump up in production from the new solar panels placed 2 months ago. It's amazing how fast dust accumulates and how it can just tank the efficiency of the panels. He got before and after photos of my panels (you can see the dirt and bee pollen caked on them) AND he cleaned the windows (inside and outside) and gutters (for additional price).
