The salon itself is beautiful...very artsy, chic, and full of positive energy. What stood out to me most was how well everyone worked together. You can tell this is a team that truly enjoys what they do and supports one another, which made the whole experience feel so genuine. I was referred to Mayko after seeing the amazing job he did on my nurse's hair, and I knew I had to book an appointment with him. It ended up being one of the best decisions I've made. I was beyond impressed. My hair had previous damage, and after speaking with other stylists who seemed nervous to even touch it, Mayko came in with confidence and completely put me at ease. He knew exactly what he was doing. The final result turned out even better than I imagined. He's definitely earned my loyalty. Nese, the owner, was also so warm and involved throughout the salon, helping wherever needed and making sure everyone was taken care of. This was easily one of the best salon experiences I've had, and it was absolutely worth the 45-minute drive. Looking forward to my next appointment.

The stunning chandelier was custom-made for the studio, sleek white floors with marbleized design, clean white lines with pink accents - sophisticated elegance down to the last detail. I'm fairly new to the area and it's always so hard to find a new stylist, but I had a great experience with Jhovanna. She really worked magic with my unruly and curly hair and taught me how to style it myself. The best part about my haircut is that I can recreate the style at home! My curls are luxurious, soft, and tame even in the hot and humid Virginia summer! In addition, my mom was in town visiting and asked for a salon recommendation. Of course I referred her to Jhovannas and this is what she had to say: "I'm traveling but I needed a haircut. Jhovanna did a WONDERFUL job, atmosphere, professional yet friendly, great shampoo in this comfortable green chair, haircut, knowledgeable about products, and the staff made me feel special. If I lived in Virginia I would use this salon!" Highly recommend Jhovannas if you have curly hair or otherwise!

I opted for the "Deva Treatment" for curly hair that included a dry cut, wash and deep conditioning, then styling. The care that went into the cut and showing me how to style it moving forward was very much appreciated. I recommend the treatment as a first visit but future visits can only be the dry cut (making it only just more than double what I would normally pay ‍). Also, it took about 3 hours for the cut, wash, deep conditioning, & styling...another reason to only do the dry cut in the future. I'm not really sure I can justify the cost too much to return but I'm also not sure I can say that I've ever loved a haircut like I do this one. Four stars is mainly for price. Five stars for everything else.

I used to take my son to local barbers & the results were unpredictable. Sometimes my son was happy but the times he teared up were bad. I do fork the extra for my son's hair because he hasn't teared up since I started taking him here. His hair is done nicely every time except the side burns are usually uneven. His hair doesn't get washed or styled (he usually heads home to the shower anyways). He is covered in chopped hair when he leaves. Side note: I wanted to have a really drastic a-line bob. I have very fine hair, thick bangs. Courtney explained that because of my hair being so thin especially in the front where the length should be it would take a while to get the look I ultimately wanted. I yelped several places and I came up upon this haircare studio. At first, I was told there was no appointment; when I explained my situation Laura/Lauren (the lady who answered the phone) was extremely understanding, very kind, very prompt with her communication and she set up a quick appointment for me!!!! This not truly speaks to their commitment, communication and thoughtfulness. But it also speaks to the level of service on some level. Once the appointment was set up, I drove in (of course, finding the space for a newbie in that area was a little difficult - to locate them ) ....that incident too shows their support!!!! they were so kind. They walked right up to the carwash area, spotted my car and guided me back to their door. confetti and brownie points yet again. I was brought to the second floor. A young lady helped with washing my hair, and then I got moved to Umber's booth. Umber is super nice, efficient. She understood exactly what I wanted and delivered. I wanted my hair with a tiny curl inward and she did it. She also applied some products so that I could keep my hair perfectly styled just in case it started to drizzle! I walked out feeling amazing. My hair was done just right and I was ready for the wedding.... They have a good collection of hair products. I also found some really nice refrigerator magnets. Today, I finally decided to bite the bullet and give Illusions a shot, and I'm so glad I did! My appointment for a gel manicure and regular pedicure with Tina was at 1pm, and I got there a few minutes early. We picked out polishes and then started the pedicure before moving on to the manicure. I was there for about 100 minutes total (some of the reviews said three hours, so I was relieved). Tina is METICULOUS and so nice. She has been doing nails for 30 years, and it shows! She was able to recommend what would look best, my cuticles look amazing, and the pedicure didn't even tickle me like it normally does. I paid $70 for both, and tips are cash only. This is not the place for an upscale, pampering spa day--it could use some updating, instruments didn't come in sterilized peel packs, etc.--but the price is right for a standard and high-quality mani/pedi.
