I visited Golden Yoga & Healing Arts for the first time for the yin yoga class on a Friday evening…read more I am a yoga instructor myself and practice yin yoga at studios all around Denver, so I'm experienced enough to know that Jacqueline, the class instructor, is very skilled in guiding this style of practice. She was warm and welcoming, helping me to gather all of the needed props for her sequence. I was lucky to be the only student in the class, as it meant I received hands-on assists (she asked first if I welcomed them) and additional attention. Jacqueline offer enough guidance without being overbearing, and she offered additional practice options including mudras, which was a nice touch. Her supportive and nurturing demeanor were well suited to the yin style of practice and I left feeling very restored. The studio itself has an eclectic appeal, with practice rooms on multiple floors of a building shared with other businesses. The lobby area was on the third floor and required following signs in the building to locate where to go. There appeared to be two practice rooms and a room for massage, from what I could see. The studio is fairly small and definitely has that independent/community-based vibe, which is nice. The biggest challenge is the location, which is not the easiest to find on the 6th Avenue frontage road. For those willing to seek this place out, they offer affordable classes in a laid back environment and it's definitely worth visiting.

My first in-person yoga class since covid started. Glad I chose the Container Collective for my…read morefirst class back. Walking in, I was greeted by the owner Brittany in such a friendly and welcoming way! Got my temperature checked, signed in with a freshly cleaned pen and got shown around the room. The class is marked with blue tape so that social distancing rules still applied. The class was taught by one of the YTT graduates. It flowed so well and still challenging! I went yesterday and I'm sore everywhere haha. The instructor doesn't do the moves while you are on the mat, so if you are a beginner it's best to get a view of the whole class to be able to watch and follow along. The community at the studio is super friendly. Everyone said hi to me and asked me how class was. It was truly nice to be apart of the group and not just sitting there on my mat waiting to start haha. If you are nervous about starting at a yoga studio, I'd definitely recommend the Container Collective. It'll help you feel welcomed and eased into a wonderful studio and practice. My favorite thing the instructor said was "the hardest part is showing up." So show up and you can do it!!

I started going to Restorative classes and discovered that my hips could open up more with the longer poses. After a month I noticed that I could get lower in my squats and my planks improved significantly, but most of all I just felt better in my body and I was able to move more with less joint pain. It also improved my ability to do more with my Boot Camp class and not be as tired when it was over. This yoga studio offers a wide variety of classes and the instructors guide you every step of the way so if you're a newbie to yoga like me, they will make you feel very welcome. Highly recommend!
