I have been to this restaurant three times now and everytime has been an enjoyable experience. The chef owner and his partner in the dining room are very gracious host and hostess. Chef speaks excellent English! There is no sign outside this restaurant; just a small neon cactus over the door, so it may be a bit of a challenge to locate. If you are looking for mexican food in the Turin area, this is worth a trip. All the expected dishes (fajitas, chili, chili rellenos...) are on the menu and a free parking lot is located close by. They are located in a converted mill along with many other stores, banks and restaurants.
Our visits have all been on a weeknight around 730, with and without a group. The food and service have been consistently good. No 'hovering', and always nearby so if you need anything, just give them a wave. Chips and salsa are placed on the table to snack on and they have plenty of apps on the menu. If you like your salsa hot, ask for the picante salsa.
I start with a margaritas with the 'special' tequila which makes all the difference in taste. Beer on draft, in bottles, wine or a mixed drink are available as well as soft drinks. The beef fajita comes with so much beef, peppers and onions, there was just no way to finish it all. Plan to share or take leftovers home. The chili is full of beef with a few beans and hot peppers and served with a dollop of house made sour cream, tortillas, rice and lettuce. This chili is a little spicy without going overboard. If you like it really spicy, ask for some hot peppers. I order a side of sour cream to go with my chili.
The entrees are so large I have not had room for desserts here, but do order an after dinner coffee which is always exceptional. There is also a variety of aperitifs if you prefer an after dinner drink and of course, you can always finish up with a shot of tequila! read more
