After a day of shopping, we ladies were ready for a margarita! One of the group had visited this location before and recommended we stop. This shop has a very small interior at a corner location. There are a few seats inside, and lots of seats outside making it a nice stop on a summers day to enjoy the breeze.
Upon entering, I noticed they had empanadas! Well, after all the walking, a little snack was in order, and an empanada with my margarita was just what the doctor ordered! So, we all got one!
The bar man was very friendly and chatted with us while we placed our orders. We chose some seats outside, under the umbrellas and sipped our frozen margaritas, which were wonderfully refreshing on a hot summers day, while we waited for the empanadas to arrive. They came each in it's own brown paper sack making it easy to hold the flaky morsel while keeping your hands clean. Napkins were placed on the table for our use as well.
These empanadas are a good size for a snack. Not too large, not too small. If it were a meal, two may be in order. (They also sell other Mexican options, so you can 'mix it up': one empanada and one taco perhaps?) The crust was easy to bite into and held it's shape nicely (meaning it didn't fall apart). As crust goes, it was just your basic crust - this is not fancy food, it's street food - and the filling was very tasty. I would definitely get another next time I'm in town.
