When I saw the doctor, I explained my symptoms, but from the start, I felt like my concerns were being dismissed. He made a comment that high blood pressure is "better than low," which didn't feel reassuring given why I was there. He told me the plan was to do blood work, an EKG, and give me another dose of my blood pressure medication. I had my blood drawn and waited, expecting to be called back for the EKG. Instead, the doctor later came to tell me that my "EKG and blood work" were normal. I had to point out that I never actually received an EKG. He responded that he must have been thinking of another patient, which was concerning in itself. He then said he didn't think an EKG was necessary anymore, even though it had been part of the original plan. He recommended that I start taking my blood pressure medication twice a day and discharged me. This left me feeling confused and uneasy. After doing some research the next day, I learned that I am already on the maximum recommended dose of that medication, and increasing it is not typically advised. Overall, I left feeling that my concerns weren't taken seriously and that the care I received lacked attention to detail.

He is probably one of the kindest, most understanding and sincere doctors I have seen in a long time. His bedside manners are fantastic, I never feel rushed and I always feel like he cares about making me feel heard. His MA is wonderful, they are always super friendly and helpful. As for Village Medical as a facility - this place needs a lot of help. Trying to communicate with a provider is difficult. You cannot call the office directly, you send a message it takes days to get a reply. You use the chat or call the help line and it takes days for you to get some type of a reply from anyone. The answer is always "we will get back to you in a week." Sometimes a week is a very long time when you have a pressing issue. There is certainly a disconnect between the patient and provider. It is all corporate and help desk. When I get feedback from my pharmacy that I need a pre-authorization, or there is a question, it takes about a week to get any type of resolution because you cannot communicate with the office directly. If it was not for the fact that I like my doctor so much I would leave this place. Finding a good doctor is very tough. I just wish this place would get it together.

I wished they had electronic or online medical history though, since that took a lot of writing. The staff was as courteous as it gets. Dr. Anita Koszyk-Szewczyk was overrun by patients, so the NP saw me. She was confident, courteous and efficient. She updated Dr. Koszyk-Szewczyk, who then checked in on me and explained what the next few steps were going to be. Quality care at Ironwood.

His office is very close to both of the places I lived for the past 20 years. Knowing the blood system and all the things around that, he has really helped me through some dark days. The office folks are very helpful too, just knowing how he prefers to care for his patients, they make it easy for all of us. I'm thankful I did not have to go into the hospital on his watch, although I'm sure that would have been really easy for him to adjust. Just this year, the type of care that I had was concerning a mild medically-induced stroke. Again, I can't say good enough things about Dr. Kellogg.

The PA passed off her responsibility to an assistant whose credentials are not what insurance pays for. I do not recommend this office for a level of care. As a patient…read moreof over 2 years, I can confidently say that this clinic couldn't care less about the health or wellbeing of their patients. The fact that the "doctors" and "nurses" at this clinic have the ability to compound and prescribe medication is truly terrifying. In the 2+ years that I went there, the "nurse" that I saw (Erica Barajas) was never able to diagnose or treat my symptoms, outside of simply reading my labs to me and prescribing medication. When I would express concerns about symptoms I was still experiencing, or new symptoms I was having, she would either have no answers for me, or she'd suggest adding another supplement or upping my medication. She recently prescribed me Tirzepatide, which is compounded at an outside facility, and recklessly prescribed and distributed by Balance. I took only 1 dose and it nearly put me in the hospital. I went to urgent care twice, as well as numerous doctors, and none of them could help me because they didn't compound the medication or truly know what was in it. I reached out to Balance numerous times expressing this urgent concern, and the front office staff completely blew me off and disregarded me, despite me conveying that this was a medical emergency. Absolutely could not have cared less and didn't even pretend to!! Their only response was that my "doctor" is in twice per week and that she'd respond when she could. It took a week for Erica to finally respond to me, despite my numerous calls and text messages, and when she finally did, it was a single text message right before closing time saying "what are your symptoms?". The complete negligence and disregard by their entire practice is absolutely sickening!!! How they are still operating is truly mind blowing. I HIGHLY CAUTION anyone to go to this clinic. They have absolutely ZERO regard for their patients, and ZERO business compounding, prescribing, and distributing medication that they refuse to take responsibility for. From day one they have treated me like family. They are very involved with their patients and it really makes you know you're in great hands. The staff is fantastic! They always have on smiling faces and you can tell they all really enjoy their jobs and their patients. Dr. Thomas and the girls in the procedure room really put me at ease every time I'm in. I can tell they take pride in ensuring everything is sterile and pristine for every procedure. Marisa is also great! She truly listens to how I'm feeling and always knows what's best to try next to relieve my pain. Even the girls up front are awesome! Tiffany and Brittany are very knowledgable and have great answers to the many questions I have. Brittany is always my go to girl with some of the complications I've had with my insurance. I ended up calling back and I got transferred 4 times and I spoke with Cynthia and I was explaining how I was frustrated that im getting transferred around so much and she wanted to transferred me again and she interrupted me and said that she doesn't need sarcasm but I wasn't being sarcastic about anything I clearly explained my frustration and I don't know what would have been considered sarcastic to her. She then transferred me anyways and I was told that it would be $962 for the X-rays ($162 increase from the first amount the told me). When I was told that price I asked them why inline it says prices would ranged from ~$80-$120 with insurance and that when Cynthia came back on the line and interrupted me again. I ended up looking into Arizona Diagnostic Radiology in Tempe and I got AMAZING customer services and with my insurance they said it would only be $75.28 for the X-rays I needed. I called Valleywise back to ask how they gave me such an egregious price under insurance when another company gave me a reasonable price with my insurance. The representative said the price is not dependent on the hospital but on my insurance. I told her that under my insurance with a different company it was way more affordable and if they are going through my insurance why would there be hundreds of dollars in a difference. The representative then said it is because Valleywise is a hospital. $962 dollars for an xray is ridiculous and no one should have to pay that amount. Arizona Diagnostic Radiology took great care of me and Marlyn made my day with his smile and kindness. Don't get scammed by these company's and do your research to find what works best for you!
