At BBFC: *a few uncomfortable looking chairs near the front door vs a large relaxing lounge with cushy sofas and low lighting. *water dispenser vs citrus infused water dispenser. *less spacious rooms *rooms just aren't as nicely decorated/ finished *2 plain Jane bathrooms with hair dryer and a few other items in a basket on the toilet tank vs a large dressing room with a large mirror, hair dryer and stools. *One of the bathrooms had the toilet running and it wouldn't flush plus the hand dryer didn't work. *I could be wrong about this but the doesn't seem to be as much epsom salt in the water. I found it much easier to sit in the tub and it wasn't as slippery. That could be a plus but I prefer lots of salt for health reasons. Both charge $45 for a first float but you get 90 minutes at BBFC, only 60 at APLF. You pay a one time $15 membership fee at APTF, none at BBFC. One float costs $59 at APTF, $65 at BBFC. Discounts for multiple floats, difficult to compare. For me,, BBFC has a more convenient location. Both places have great staff, towel and hair dryer provided. private in room shower with soap/shampoo/conditioner and convenient parking. A Place to Float is just... nicer. Consider bringing your own: bathing suit, deodorant, brush, curling iron etc. All personal preferences of course.

This was our first time, and Jessica was very helpful in explaining what to expect to me when I called to book as well as when we arrived. We chose the float pods, but they do have open tanks if you're worried about feeling claustrophobic. I did have a moment of panic when I opened my eyes at one point because it was complete blackness, but I focused on my breathing and relaxed into it. You can opt to leave the light on if you like as well. Tidbits- *Don't wear lotion, perfume, makeup, etc if you can help it. You have to shower off before getting in anyway. *You can doc your phone in an aux cord and play music if you like. Personal preference! *I was surprised at the quality of the available shampoo/conditioner after. I expected stringy hotel shampoo hair, but I'm feeling quite soft! Could it be all the salt? Idk. *I was a little worried about being spooked when the lights and jets came back on, but it was a gentle nudge to come back to reality! *Currently, the do not have signage on their store front, so we passed it at first. *Arrive ~10 min early for first float to sign waiver and get the tutorial. Overall, great experience! Good for just relaxation, general unplugging or trying to hone your meditation skills. I am considering a monthly float (which offers a discounted price) in the future.

I've had memberships at other places before and I've struggled to find somewhere that feels less corporate and more intimate/authentic. Honor Yoga is super cozy and inviting right when you walk in. It's clean, fresh, with all updated finishes-- feels very homey and looks like it's been taken care of. It's quiet and I don't ever feel like it's too crowded which always makes the experience relaxing and peaceful. They also have super cute merchandise and clothes for you to purchase if desired! The instructors are all very nice and experienced-- I especially love Michelle, she remembers faces and names and really puts in effort to make you feel welcome and cared for. The music selection in each class has been amazing! Every time I've gone, I've experienced a different playlist and all of them I've enjoyed. From early 2000's alternative/90's throwbacks, to today's hits, they do a great job providing a variety to help you stay engaged. I started with the week free trial, and at the end I officially became a member. The unlimited membership is reasonable, especially because towels and mats are free! This is one of my favorite parts. I don't think there's anywhere else in the city that offers that! SUCH a nice perk for the busy professional like me that sometimes may forget one or the other! I've enjoyed the heated yoga flow and the Pilates/barre class. I actually like that the heat is not that of a sauna, it's actually ran by a sensor and designed to bring heat based on your movement and gradually increases at a nice pace. The only complaint I have is that there's no women's locker room-- you need to step outside and walk down a hallway to get to the restroom. A little inconvenient, especially if you're in the middle of class and you're barefoot! You may pass by other pedestrians since Honor is located within a corporate building, it doesn't just stand on its own. Make sure you're on time, as they lock the doors a few minutes before class. Which I appreciate and it does make sense! Overall, very happy I joined this place and excited to keep going!

Supposedly, the room is kept at 90 degrees, and I could feel all 90 degrees. I'm not used to practicing hot yoga, and I don't think it will be a daily part of my practice, but it's nice to know that The Yoga Studio offers such a nice space for hot yoga when the mood strikes me. The instructor, Rick, was great. It was my first time visiting, so we chatted outside of the yoga room about what to expect: In his class, he starts with a led Sun Salutation A, then lets you go on your own, then a led Sun Salutation B, then lets you go on your own. The second half of the class is a fully led practice, with lots of variety. The room is small, but apparently they can fit 25 people in it! My class only had 12, so there was plenty of room. The room itself is clean and dark, with a couple of salt lamps around. It's a quiet, contemplative space to practice. There are showers here, too, as well as a room for cycling. The people who work here are very welcoming! Like I said, it was my first time visiting, and I got nothing but love from everyone. The Yoga Studio is a great place to practice yoga, and I'll definitely be back.

Additionally there were several poses called out with different names than what I've encountered with other instructors at several different studios or while doing yoga at home with Apple Fitness. Lastly, we went through a flow once or twice and then the instructor pretty much said keep doing it on your own without any further instructions for a few minutes. I felt bad for the two new students next to me who kept looking over to me to check their form. If you enjoy a hot space and freedom to do whatever flow you'd like, then this place might be good for you, but I was not a fan.

I purchased a two-week unlimited intro pass and had a sudden family emergency the same day as my first class that required me to leave the country. I returned 13 days later, meaning there was only one day left on my two-week pass. I explained this to the front desk and asked if there was any way to extend or honor the original trial period, since I wasn't able to use it due to circumstances completely out of my control. I was only offered options that would require me to make an additional payment, and when I followed up explaining my disappointment and asking if there was any flexibility, I never received a response. Considering this is a yoga studio, I expected more understanding, compassion, and accommodation in a situation involving a family emergency. Overall, the lack of communication and empathy overshadowed the experience.

Shine Yoga & Wellness Studio happened to be around the corner from an errand I was running in downtown Noblesville, so it was perfect. Stars aligning and all that. Brittney was the instructor of the Slow Flow class that I visited, and she was super energetic and welcoming. The yoga studio is very small but cozy and incredibly clean. Our class was tiny -- just five people in person and one joining online. (They offer virtual classes here, too!) I'm used to being in much bigger classes where I can just fade into the background, so this was different but nice. Brittney would offer encouragement to us by name, which was a thoughtful touch. Brittney's Slow Flow class was just what I needed today: A chance to move slowly and mindfully for an hour. She even incorporated some pranayama breathing at the beginning of the class to help us get grounded and prepare our bodies for intentional movement. The entrance to Shine faces an alleyway, which can be a little confusing to get to. But there are lots of signs directing you where to go. Just look for the signs!
