Great service, nice drivers, and awesome mulch quality. I will continue to get my mulch from here as calling in to schedule a drop off is so simple. They make a profile the first time you call so it's easy to schedule the next one. They even make notes about your location in case access is challenging- I still let them know I need the smallest truck just to make sure they can go into tight drive way. The compost quality could better as its more like decomposing mulch rather than ready to use high quality compost but letting it sit there for some additional time to can do the trick. read more

Unfortunately gravel was delivered on the street blocking traffic. Got a warning from a Glendale PD. Would have been better to dump it on the driveway and park on the street. read more

Started up a garden a few months ago, needed a bunch of soil for my planters and called these guys. They showed up the next day and delivered quite a bit of soil. The soil is such high-quality. My garden was almost immediately blooming and harvesting. I had leftover soil that I gave to a friend who is a bit of a gardening expert, and he said the soil has performed better than anything he has bought. Highly recommend going with them! read more

Amazing service. This is our third time using them and they are awesome. They have stabilized DG which is rare and they deliver next day.

GREAT BARK MULCH FOR LANDSCAPING ================================= My neighbor told me about this place and I am so glad she did. They are on the north side of Whiteman Airport and my husband got lost looking for it. I had no problems using the Yelp navigation to get there. They're located at the end of a long driveway just off of Osborne Street. We decided to select the medium bark nuggets and ordered 10 cubic yards at $74.00 per yard. Trying to figure out how much to order is a bit tricky, but they have a calculator on their website. They charged $140.00 for delivery. read more

Francisco was very helpful and responsive. He was able to accommodate my last minute delivery of pea gravel and decomposed Granite. The delivery driver was an expert at maneuvering the truck and dumping the product. Soil and Sod Depot exceeded my expectations and had lower prices than any other company. Two thumbs way up! read more

Ordered compost from them and they were able to deliver same week. Looks like quality material and we're excited to use it in our yard.

The products are of good quality and the staff is knowledgeable. Always ready to get your order fulfilled and delivered promptly.

We just left this place. I was on the phone the whole time in the front of the truck trying to sort out a matter and within 10 minutes, the back of the truck was filled with dirt and my husband jumped in the driver's seat and said, "MAN, these guys are SO NICE!" Coming from my husband, that is impressive. He said they asked how he heard about this place and let him know they deliver (which is huge) and they make recommendations based on the need, which is so appreciated. This type of customer service, with a smile, always deserves a shout out. THANK YOU! The Sundays read more

Cashed in the morning and had garden soil delivered to my driveway the same afternoon. The guy I talked to on the phone was super helpful and made the selection process really easy. I am so in love with this company, I am either going to marry it or at least figure out some way to need truckloads of soil and mulch regularly!! Seriously, I can be a rather picky customer. I expect excellent pricing, excellent product, and excellent customer service. Soil and Sod checks off every box! First, I needed 5 cubic yards of soil to amend my flower beds which were basically just compacted dust. Called around and Soil and Sod was by far the least expensive. They even delivered the same day!! I got the flower/vegetable mix and it was perfect. No rocks or other junk in it. Smelled so earthy. :) The next week, I needed 12 cubic yards of mulch. I ordered the cheapest- the brown shred, and it was again PERFECT and the cheapest I found anywhere! The customer service is stellar as well. So easy to call, place my order, pay for it over the phone, and schedule delivery. The guys on the line have always been so nice and helpful! And the drivers, well they are awesome as well! Seriously, this is just a great company. I need a bigger yard. :) read more

We just landscaped our front yard with drought tolerant landscape and DG (decomposed granite) from Soil & Sod depot. I called 5 different companies in the San Fernando Valley, and Soil & Sod had the best price for DG & delivery out of all of them. Some places were 2-3x more expensive! It pays to do your research. Since I'm local, delivery was only $50 and you can even place orders the day before or same day. The people I talked to on the phone were very helpful in helping me calculate how much material I would need. I ordered 11 cubic yards and scheduled a delivery for the next day between 10-12 pm. The delivery was right on schedule at 11 am and we have a long, narrow driveway but the delivery guy was clearly an expert and was able to unload the DG perfectly onto our driveway without getting any on our neighbors lawn. We were very happy with the level of customer service at Soil & Sod Depot and the price & product was outstanding. Highly recommend. read more

Yes! Yes! Yes! Best prices & great customer service! I scoured the internet for the cheapest landscape materials. This place was mentioned in the comments on a competitors webpage. They have a facility that is easy to examine your selections. Delivery was $80, material was the least expensive I found. Driver was on time. Definitely ordering materials for my back yard next. Great business! Very happy! Thank you! read more

Nice people -- above average customer service. Just be sure you double check the amount of product they suggest you purchase vs. what you think you need or check an online calculator. They WAAAY oversold me some mulch at a $500 cash price, (that's $500 cash that I handed over!!) then when I complained said "well, you're getting reimbursed by the turf removal program" -- so I guess that makes it okay? read more

If you are in need of soil or mulch (especially mulch) this is your spot. No one in the area (or in the east valley) had much a good variety. Their salespeople are friendly. Very patient with my many questions and need for clarity. They also seem to be trustworthy and help you with what you need and do not try to sell you something you have no use for. Their office is clean and organized. Their mulch samples are in small bins indoor or in larger planters outside to give you a better idea of how it would look in larger quantity and in the sunlight. So stop by or go to their website. Their website has a very useful calculator (to see how much material you would need) and also very good quality photos of their products. read more

Great service, staff is very friendly, highly recommend this place for all your soul needs.

Called mid day for next day delivery and they came through. I have a narrow street that takes a lot of artistic maneuvering and the driver was great about it. I also think the price was reasonable enough - $250 for 4yards of 50/50 (all in) Would definitely use them again. read more

Great service - easy process assists with any questions and they offer delivery- can call in order.

So happy to find this place today! Great products, friendly service. Bought 2 scoops of bark. So much easier than hauling the bags from Home Depot. Love it! read more

We have been using Soil and Sod Depot for 10 years and have referred numerous friends for their landscaping needs. The guys in the office and the yard are very helpful and courteous. The quality of the mulch and 50/50 flower/vegetable mix is second to NONE.....they are the best. I can fill up the back of my Honda Odessey for about $15.00 (1/2 yard) and Home Depot charges $5.99 for 2 cubic feet....you figure it out. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!! read more

If I could have given zero stars, I would have. Have been a customer for 10+ years. I have never complained. Last week they shorted my load by more than half. I took pictures and called to complain. They argued and argued. Then I went and picked up the exact amount they were supposed to have delivered and took a picture. It was a joke. Not even comparable piles. I called again to talk with owner. Again an argument. Worst customer service possible. I not only will never go there again. I am telling all my fellow landscape contractors to do the same. Hope that $250 worth of mulch was worth it to you Sod and soil depot. Amy Rydell Amy Rydell Landscape Inc. read more

I called a soil place close to me with poor results. Flaky, no return call, etc. Soil & sod was friendly and helpful on phone. Delivery was higher due to distance but worth it. I ordered a 50/50 mix and some wood chips. It was delivered two hours later. The driver dropped it in two neat piles exactly where I asked. No trash in the wood chips and the compost looks and smells like a good batch. read more

Okay so update. I got my bill in the mail and it didn't match what I was quoted. Called Junior again and he totally took care of it and refunded the difference back to my card with NO PROBLEMS. It was some confusion about the route the driver took for the delivery cost...it's far from Pacoima to me so I get that there could be different routes. SUPER happy. read more

I just ordered and placed St. Augustine sod. They were reasonably priced and very helpful. It was absolutely beautiful and perfect quality. The order was short about 50 square feet and I mis-measured by 100sq. Feet. When I went back they took full accountability for the 50sq feet that was short and will help me with the rest of my order. I couldn't be more pleased by the reasonable price, exceptional quality, and wonderful costumer service. I will definitely come back for pea gravel and DG once I hardscape. read more
