I've had Soi Thaifoon on my list of restaurants to try for a while and I finally managed to try it since I happened to be in the area.
I came around lunch time in a weekday and found they had a lunch special for a good price ($13.95 for pad Thai + a soft drink). So I decided to try the pad Thai. You get your choice of protein and I opted for the chicken as per the staff's recommendation.
The pad thai tasted pretty good, though I found the portion smaller than expected and not filling - I'm not sure if it's because it's the lunch special or if the portions are usually like that but I'll try some other menu items next time to see how they compare.
The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and decor was quite nice inside. They have quite a wide selection on their menu as well with Thai specialties. However, one item I really did not enjoy was the Thai Tea Frappe - the banana flavor did not go well and it doesn't suit my taste (especially because I highly dislike bananas). I wouldn't order it again and would prefer to have a more authentic Thai tea with no added flavors.
Another thing I didn't really like was parking, as I couldn't figure out where to park since it's part of a condo complex. Would love more signage or direction. Overall food was good and I'd love to come back to try other items on the menu, just not the Thai tea. read more
