I have been coming here for 2 years now for upper lip, eyebrows, and arms. Everytime I come, without fail, the area is left patchy with large spots of hair still left...I don't get arms done here anymore for this reason, because it was just so bad, but the upper lip is passable. This is something I now expect when I come, and I am just waiting for another salon to open nearby so I can go there instead. Additionally, the regular employees have much attitude with certain customers, and ALWAYS stare at the screen when I am paying, to see if I will tip, and have attitude when I do not. I am NOT going to tip for a half done upper lip, and can't afford to tip anyway. Certain customers should expect badtameez remarks from the staff at little things. read more

This is my second time trying this particular location. I noticed the pattern of How the Threading Specialist is. I had to ask this time as well as my First for a tissue to go under my neck. Even though it's only stubbly hairs they still can itch something crazy if they in into the fabrics or undergarments lol. Other than that little flaw, I think overall she does a great job. read more

I was here for threading and waxing service. Had to wait for few minutes as there was a wait. The lady did an amazing job with my brows but wasn't happy with the facial threading. A lot of hair wasn't threaded at all, which I couldn't see well at the store. Waxing was super quick and was just right. My first experience having my eyebrows done was great! My cousin recommended this place and told me there was a $5 for $10 coupon I could purchase through Yelp, so I came by after work. There were two ladies working on people when I walked in, so I checked in on the screen and sat down on the couch to wait. It didn't take long at all, and the lady who worked on me (didn't get her name, unfortunately) was very nice about it being my first time and kept showing me her progress on each brow so I could see how it was being shaped. It hurt way less than I thought it would, and my eyebrows look great! This location is only about a 15 minute drive from my house, so I will definitely be back regularly to get my brows done here. read more

The first place I went to get my eyebrows done is another salon down the road. When I first went, they did my brows BEAUTIFULLY and it was only $4. But I went once after growing my brows out for weeks, and I kid you not when I say I left with brows that were shaped like triangles. How my brows looked after I left the salon was SO inconsistent. So given this horrific experience, getting my eyebrows threaded by a new place if at any place at all, was something I was EXTREMELY hesitant to. I've heard a few friends rave on and on about this place, and the only thing that turned me off was the price. With the student discount, it's roughly $3 dollars more. But I will gladly pay them the $3 more each time because of how nicely they thread brows. They give you the liberty to check in and PICK who you'd like to thread your brows! This was such a step up from the last place where I was randomly allocated to the next available threader. They thread so skillfully and they take their time on the client to make sure they can cope with pain/discomfort if needed to! The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star rating, is because waiting for your turn on line can feel a little dragged out. Each time I go, I wait like 10-15 minutes to get my brows threaded. But, I do understand that this is due to the level of precision achieved as well as the pacing of the process. All in all, I recommend this place to everyone! read more

I went to get my eyebrows done here and the lady immediately wanted to start working so I told her to hold on. I have been growing out my left brow out to make it even with the right. So I asked for a mirror and showed her. She didn't listen to me at all!!!! Now all my growth of months is gone and I have an eyebrow with no bottom! When I told her she messed up (politely) she said it was already like that! lol Listen to your customers when you are in this business!! Geeze! I just wanted to take a moment to write a review based on my experience because I felt it was necessary that I did so. What's funny is typically I don't leave feedbacks for many places unless it was deserving... The Styles of India location that I go to is in Allen, TX. The ambience there is extremely peaceful, professional and super friendly. The numerous ladies that run the store do a fantastic job doing so. I must tell you I am a man and a picky one if I may say so. I go there to get my bushy dark black eyebrows threaded once a month. The lady who I exclusively chose to see every time as my stylist is (Ms. Manisha) because not only she does a phenomenal job and is a total sweetheart but she has my complete trust and respect... This gal works very fast and percise getting my eyebrows to match evenly and looking their best every single time. I also want to point out I've been to a dozen or so different locations in the past until I was fortunate enough to find her at SoI in Allen. In the past having my brows waxed had left my skin bruised up with burnes because of my sensitive skin or the cheap wax other salons use; also using certain stylists at other locations had left me with unmatched or too thin of eyebrows for a man!!! This lady is incredible and you guys need to find out for yourselves. I always take care of her at checkout because she always makes me look my best and I know that's true because I get many compliments from my lady friends, colleagues and family members. I got my brows done here while in town. They were quick and efficient! I also used the yelp deal which was a great deal! I was able to get in and out quickly. The interior is nice and very well decorated! The shop looks like an authentic Indian brow shop! The girl that did my brows was friendly, I wish they would do my brows the way I want them done but it's nearly impossible for anyone to do they way I want. I've been looking for an eyebrow threading place that was decently priced and did a good job. I'm a guy but like having my eyebrows cleaned up so I don't look like a Neanderthal. The previous one I went to was in Sachse and I only paid $3 for a threading. Cheap right?! They charge $10 here I believe but I guess I will have to deal with paying that because they did an excellent job! I'm still a bit green when it comes to eyebrow shaping and waxing, but I was thinking I may try a new ready for soap opera me. After having one great and one mediocre eyebrow waxing, and hearing a lot of good things about threading - I talked a friend of mine into trying it with me (she had a scary wax story too, which tipped the scales). We settled on Styles of India based on it's reviews - well almost a monopoly of reviews - and I'm glad we did. I am seriously impressed with what they can do with a spool of thread. I can barely so buttons back on. The location was easy to find, clean and the technician had us both happy with polished eyebrows in less than 15 minutes. Ok so- they do an ok job on threading, it just depends on who you get - I have had some experiences where they went a little too thin, so just be really upfront that you do NOT want them thin and you should be ok.... but I took a star off strictly for the fact that it is AWKWARDLY quiet in there & and it's ALWAYS hot!! I've been coming to this Styles of India location for a year or two. I can always walk in and be helped immediately - I have never had to wait. You can always request a specific person if they're working, but I've found each person provides excellent results. No, threading is not painless, but I like it better than waxing. Another thing I love about this place, they don't try to "upsell" me and talk me into getting services I didn't ask for by telling me how hairy my face is. I actually had that experience at another threading salon! I don't like scissors to be used to trim my eyebrow hair (due to a bad experience at the aforementioned salon), so I always request that before they begin with no issues. After they've threaded the area requested, they hand you a mirror and allow you to check their work. If you see more hair you want removed, just point it out and they'll go back to work. It's not an exact science and if you have blonde hair like me, some can get missed. They will continue until you're happy. The best part is the aloe they apply at the end - don't skip it! Prices here are fantastic as well. read more

THREE DAYS LATER.... I was under the impression eyebrow threading was supposed to leave your brow area groomed. Apparently, this is NOT the case, and I was mistaken. Apparently, it is ACTUALLY something you go do with your free time, for the purpose of................... cricket sound effects.............. a) Your wallet is too heavy with money, so you want to give some of it away b) Chewbacca is the new black c) You actually are stupid, so when a service person treats you as such, it feels warm and familiar to you d) NONE OF THESE THINGS. There's never really a wait time here and the ladies are quick and professional. If you're looking for a good henna tattoo, however, I'd probably go ahead and make the drive to Heena. I have been coming here periodically over the course of two years. I have the card that takes 2 bucks off of my eyebrow threading. I have had the majority of the ladies that work there thread my brows and I have been pleased all of the times. I'm not sure about other services, but I'm usually in and out within 15 minutes. I rarely wait longer than 5 minutes so it's not a bad way to spend 20 minutes. Overall, I've been very pleased with that service. read more

I have pretty thick and full brows. After this place, I have one somewhat normal eyebrow, and one that thins out so much it resembles a 90s eyebrow. I am pretty upset, and won't be back. I told the technician that I didn't want them thinned out. Don't come here, unless you like your brows thin and heavily tapered. Just wait until your usual eyebrow place opens up or pluck your brows yourself until you're able to get in your regular place. Please don't make the mistake I did! read more

I hoped the tech would ask what I wanted, remove a few hairs & give me a mirror to check before removing more hairs, etc. I did NOT get that!
