I've tried plenty of Thai food around the city and this spot really became one of my favorites. The drunken noodles were packed with flavor and had the right amount of spice. The Pad Thai was different but better! Got to try it to see what I'm talking about. It's a small location but service is extremely friendly and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Definitely one of the best Thai spots I've tried in SD. I'll be back soon

Khao Soi is perhaps my favorite soup. It's got all the notes - savory, sweet, sour, spicy. This one is divine. Two perfectly cooked chicken legs nestled in a heap of noodles, pickled veggies and a birds nest of fried noodles. The textures are great - this is a perfect dish. We were the only ones dining, but there were several take out orders while we ate. The food is wonderful and comes out piping hot. Support places like this!

Great restaurant, very fast and very good food. The atmosphere is casual lots of families and small groups. The waiter was so friendly and our food came out in about 10 minutes. The pineapple fried rice was amazing. Very large portion lasted me 2 meals and had both chicken and shrimp along with cashews and pineapple! 10/10 recommend as a casual date night or easy please to meet up with friends or for Togo food.

Cute neighborhood thai restaurant hidden in North Park. It may look like a hole in the wall, but don't be deceived. It is so delicious! Decently priced and fresh ingredients. My girl friend and I had a girls name since we were craving curry. It was so worth it. Since its limited menu, you know the menu was delicious since the focus is on the food. Would come again! Great for vegetarians!

I remember walking across 30th ST Monday through Friday for kindergarten and 1st grade.  Not many food options back then.  My favorite was Dairy Queen.  Now Soi 30th is here.  Cute small spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Won ton soup came in a fancy warmer to keep the soup hot.  Pork won tons had a nice pork flavor and it tasted like the pork was seasoned with some salt or msg.  I liked the carrots, cabbage, and celery.  Very good dish. Crispy pork had crunchy skin and a smoky pork flavor.  A bit like Porky's lechon.  Very good dish. 2nd visit I tried the yakisoba chow mein with shrimp.  I liked the noodles which had a nice snap and mild flavor.  The carrots and cabbage had a fresh flavor.  Shrimp had a nice snap to them.  What I didn't like was the bitter garlic flavor.  I tried removing the little pieces of garlic but everything had that bitter flavor to it. Fried chicken wings had a crunchy batter and delicious fried chicken flavor.  My favorite dish here. Lady in charge was very nice and got my food out fast.

This small Asian eatery in North Park is located next door to a popular Chicago-style pizzeria on 30th St. Upon walking into Soi 30th, I noticed some quirky wall decorations that reflected the Thai culture. There was a small line in front of me, but it moved pretty quickly. Normally, I order a noodle dish at Thai restaurants, but this time I selected an appetizer of Thai Sausage and an entrée of Thai Basil Fried Rice with squid. There was an equal amount of indoor seating and outside tables on the patio. I sat at a high-top table inside and waited for my food which didn't take long. The sausage came out as sliced pieces on a bed of lettuce with onions and peanuts scattered on top. That surprised me because I saw a picture of this appetizer as three mini sausages each on a skewer. The meat was nicely spiced though so I had no complaints from that perspective. The portion size for the bowl of fried rice was small for the price as others had mentioned. This was another Thai joint in which the spiciness level was not watered down for American palates. It wasn't a big deal for me, but if my Thai Basil Fried Rice was considered mild, then the medium must be hot for those that like some kick in their food. When I left, the line to order had gotten longer. It's a good sign Soi 30th was getting steady business, not to mention the phone was frequently ringing for what was likely take-out orders.

    Mango sticky rice

This place has some dishes not typically found in other Thai restaurants - such as Khao Moo and pumpkin curry so we had to try it The pumpkin is big, chunky and not mushy. The Khao Moo looked and tasted like that reddish Chinese BBQ sauce. I'm not a big fan of the Chinese BBQ sauce in general so this wouldn't be my preferred dish. The pad thai was saucy which is what I like. Then the mango sticky rice was great - mango is naturally sweet. Venue has a street anime vibe - could be better as it not as inviting but the food will definitely change your mind and make you come back .

Service was excellent. Fast friendly and just impressive. Food came out quickly and it tasted fresh. Got the pad Thai with crispy pork and the flavor was delicious just enough sweetness with the spicyness. Noodles cooked perfectly. The pumpkin curry also was flavorful. The flavors worked well and I e of my favorite curries. The Khao moo kob moo dang was I think my favorite dish. The crispy pork and the roasted pork worked well together. The sauce that you drizzle over the top has some sweetness and balanced perfectly with the chili oil they bring you on the side. The Mango sticky rice was excellent. I don't generally like it but this was by far the best mango sticky rice I had. The Mango was perfectly ripe and sweet. The rice cooked perfectly. Ample seating inside and some tables outside. Small little gem that I think I'll be back again and again!! Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Pad Thai and Fried Pork Belly
    Karina D.

(4 stars, rounding up from a solid 3.5) Came in for a quick solo lunch at Soi 30th in North Park and I'm already planning my next visit when I'm not on the clock! Ordered the Crispy Pork Belly and the Pad Thai, and wow--both were fantastic. The pork belly super crispy crackly skin with that melt-in-your-mouth juicy fat underneath, and the sweet-tangy sauce it came with was perfect for dipping. The Pad Thai was packed with flavor and had a pleasant kick of heat (definitely leans spicy, but not overwhelming). Tamarind, peanuts, lime, everything balanced really well. It was blissfully quiet when I went (mid-week lunchtime, just me and one other person), so service was fast and I got to eat in peace. Only reason I'm docking half a star is because I was in such a rush to get back to work that I basically inhaled everything instead of savoring it like it deserved. Totally my fault, not theirs! The food is legitimately great--next time I'm coming on my day off so I can relax, order more things, and give it the full attention it deserves. Highly recommend if you're craving Thai in North Park! Will be back soon.

This is an excellent Thai spot! Street parking can be a bit tricky in the evening. We came at 6:30 pm on a Monday night and got seated immediately. The restaurant has approximately 6 tables in the indoor seating area and a similar amount in the outdoor patio. Our server was efficient and friendly. The food is amazing: - Khao Soi with chicken drumsticks - Flavor was rich and deep, noodles were the right doneness, chicken was nearly fall off the bone tender. - Pad Thai beef was sublime. The chef nailed the challenging delicate balance between savory, sweet, sour, and spicy. There was perfect harmony between the flavor profiles which is a rare feat. This is my new go to Thai spot and I am excited to return and try the pad see ew and yellow curry. Highly recommend!

Decided to stop by for dinner here since they have dog friendly seating and I was with my pup. There are ~5 smaller tables located on their patio in front of this restaurant which makes for good people watching. Even though I was outside, service was still great. The servers took my order right away and checked on me often to refill my water etc. They also brought my dog some water and were friendly to him. I ordered the Khao Soi, which if you've never tried is a MUST if you have a hard time deciding between curry and noodles. Its basically a lighter curry soup with noodles and it hits the spot every time. It also included 3 hefty chicken drumsticks which is way more protein than I expected, and overall a a very hearty meal. I saw a few other things on their menu I'm interested in trying and I will definitely be back!

    Pork Boat Noodle Soup

Not a bad Thai food spot, but definitely have had better. I do think the prices are cheaper compared to other Thai food places. However, I think you sacrifice cost with taste. I got the pork boat noodle and whatever noodle they used soaked up all the soup, which was kind of a bummer. Service was nice so I might just need to come back and give them another shot.

Incredibly delicious Thai Crispy Chicken Wings
    Jim D.

I cannot stand how great the food is here! This will melt your taste buds They nailed Thai food at Soi 30! From the outside this place looks small but like a transformer, there is more that meets the eye. The inside of the restaurant looks small but medium and one large group of patrons can fit in this restaurant. There is table service here and the service was great and there is an outside seating area. Some of the tastes of lunch included the fried chicken wings. Three words describe the chicken wings, DE-LI-CIOUS! If you are with a party of four, I recommend, ordering two orders of the chicken wings, we enjoyed the wings that much. The crowd favorite was chicken wings who took home the Gold medal for the taste, flavor and why we keep returning to this restaurant. I'm not discounting the Curry with rice, the Pad Thai or the Fried Rice. While everything was delicious, the flavor of the Chicken Wings and the Fried Rice stood out among the rest. If you were there, definitely deserving of all the praise. Well done to the chef!

Odd, They are pretty good with answering calls. Perhaps they got very busy? The place takes telephone orders for pick up.

    Is this place Pet friendly?

We have a patio outside that we allow pets to hangout in, with water bowls provided for them.

    Do they have drunken noodles?

Yes they do! And it's amazing! It's called Pad Kee Mao on their menu.

I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. I would be open to trying it again just because I've heard so many good things that I can't believe this is their standard experience.

Every interaction with Becky leaves me feeling cared for, respected, and genuinely valued as a customer. The food itself? Absolutely incredible. The chicken fried rice is one of my favorites -- the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Each bite brings together tender, well-seasoned chicken; fluffy rice with that subtle smoky wok aroma; crisp vegetables that still have a slight crunch; and seasoning that hits that sweet spot between savory, aromatic, and comforting. It's one of those dishes that feels simple on the surface but sings with layers of flavor the moment you start eating. The ginger and salmon stir fry is bright, fragrant, and beautifully prepared. The ginger adds just the right zing, the vegetables stay vibrant and fresh, and the salmon comes out tender, flaky, and infused with the sauce in all the best ways. The cashew stir fry is another flavorful amazing dish -- a perfect harmony of crisp vegetables, roasted cashews, savory sauce, and protein that soaks up all that flavor. The entire team creates an experience that keeps me coming back again and again. And I love their outdoor patio -- shaded, spacious, and comfortable. It's a relaxing space that makes the meal even better. Thank you, Becky, and thanks to everyone at Sukho Thai for making every visit safe, delicious, and full of kindness. Absolutely one of my favorite spots.

Finally getting around to exploring the food scene in City Heights, and I'm so glad a Yelp friend…read morerecommended this spot. We left so full and happy. They serve a mix of Thai and Lao dishes, and the menu has a ton to choose from. We started with apps and ordered the Lao‑style beef skewers and the cream cheese wontons -- both were amazing. They offer beer, wine, and a whole lineup of sugar cane drinks. They looked delicious but a little too sweet for me, so I went for a fresh coconut instead, which felt tropical and fun. For mains, we ordered the fried chicken plate and the drunken noodles. The portions were big. The fried chicken was extra crispy and cooked perfectly -- it came with rice, a green‑curry‑style sauce, and a piece of bread. The drunken noodles were fantastic. We ordered them mild, and even then they had a little kick, which I loved. Of course, we ended with mango sticky rice, and it was lovely. I also love that you can pop in just to grab their snack bags of crispy chicken skin or one of their signature sugar cane or Thai boba drinks. Such a great spot, and I'd definitely recommend it. Parking in the strip mall is a little chaotic, so just be prepared.

We looked over the menu and saw the descriptions of mostly Thai food on the menu. Bahn Thai is the comparison since that has been our go to. My partner wanted Tom Yum soup, Drunken noodles (preferably with vegetables) and I ordered as a starter crab rangoon cigar roll and for me a fried pork belly. Here are my musings, the Tom Yum soup was good. The crab rangoon should really be better suited to the crunch of wontons (but nice try). The fried pork belly was a little pricey for the amount received since this only came with sauces and no rice. The Drunken noodles were fine but it should also have an option of vegetables to add instead of tofu, chicken or shrimp. Overall, I might try them again sometime if I am in the area. Nothing still beats my go to place. But as Yelpers go, it's always nice to try new places.
