However, I had such an abysmal experience in Twigs that I felt that it needed to be shared. My besties (all brown girls) and I came in on a rainy Thursday while we were waiting for a table at the nearby Pickle Jar. When we entered this apparently darling shop, there was already a Caucasian customer who was attentively being served and catered to quite meticulously. We roamed around for a little while, discovering all the adorable knick knacks, artworks, and offerings. One of my girls decided to purchase a little plush animal for a friend's baby, and a unique vase. She came to the counter before the customer who was being helped had finished browsing, yet the attendant told her to wait until she had completed her transaction with the Caucasian customer. After ringing said customer up, and while checking out the items for my friend, she didn't make eye contact. She didn't thank her for her purchase, and she didn't tell us to come again. In fact, in retrospect, she didn't attend to us or greet us at all - fairly odd for a small business in a small space. When we left, we felt unwelcome and my friend regretted her purchase. Now every time she looks at that vase, she won't think of the creativity of the Cape Cod artist or how much fun we had on our trip, she'll think about how the attendant made her feel uncomfortable because of her skin color. The woman in the shop should feel ashamed of herself - and not operate a business that is unable to welcome anyone - in spite of their creed, color, or orientation.

The second time, I asked if she had gotten the pants, and she said " I forgot- let me take your contact data" which I gave and she told some more stories - less charming at this point. After another 2 weeks I went back and she said she forgot again and she took my info AGAIN. This time the stories were VERY tiresome. Guess what? I never got the pants. Again the clothes are great - I have 2 pair of linen cargo shorts I treasure - unfortunately they were from 2019 and totally revamped their men's shorts line. Shop Fat Face, but I'd avoid the Edgartown a store if you need customer service of any kind.....

I stop in here multiple times a year to let my kids pick out a toy or book because they have such a…read morenice selection. This year, as my 5 year old was picking out a book, my one year old was in a baby backpack on my back and reached over and knocked a glass off of the shelf which ended up smashing on the ground. When I told the lady and offered to pay she scoffed multiple times and asked why I would bring a baby into her store. Everyone around us had their jaws dropped including the other cashiers. Gross behavior and you have permanently lost a repeat customer. I'm not sure why you'd have a toy section in a store where you don't want children. I'm almost relieved after reading other reviews on here that I'm not the only one who was stunned by her behavior.
