I just recently returned from a whirlwind vacation in Puerto Rico and you know what I learned? The states does breakfast WRONG all I need is pan con mantequilla and cafè con Leche - this is a common BK occurrence in PR, but here? Fat chance. Luckily, I work within minutes of this wonderful restaurant. The service is always genuine and the food hits the spot every damn time; when I have the time on my long drive in, THIS is my only choice for breakfast. read more

Amazing Food! Extremely fresh and not a long wait! Recommend it!! They are also extremely nice and helpful!!

Soooo happy to have found this place. The only part I drag about Disney trips is that mostly bad fast food is involved. In a sea of tourist-trap-not-good-food restaurants this place saves the day!... and the stomach... and of course my soul with the authenticity of their Venezulan dishes... Cachapas, empanadas, arepas, tequeños all on point... so was the coffee. I finally have some food to look forward to on Orlando trips! read more

I don't even care about Disney or Universal now, I just wanna sit here and wait until I'm hungry again.

We just had the best meal here! Cuban sandwich and Pollo A La Plancha, Plantains, black beans and yellow rice. Everything was so good! We are here for 11 nights and I know we will be returning! There were so many items that came out is the kitchen looking amazing! Will definitely be trying the fried snapper next time we come! read more

Visiting from out of town and were so pleased to find Sofrito! Followed some previous recommendations and got the pork (w plantains, red beans, fries, and salad) and the Media Noche sandwich. Excellent - all of it! Pork was tender, plantains were perfect, salad dressing was yummy. Find a bottle of their hot sauce laying around and use it - it is perfect - not too hot. So glad we found this gem! Yum! read more

Love the chimuchuri sauce skirt steak. Arapas were great. Had the shredded beef and cheese and bean and cheese. Highly recommend read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Steak and chicken dishes - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

This place is fantastic. We actually used it as a meetup for a club that I'm part of. They don't take advance reservations, but they've got a lot of seating on the outdoor patio, and they have a pretty spacious interior as well. The coffee/café is incredible -- I would go for that alone! The menu is broad and represents several popular Latin dishes. I wasn't super hungry so I only tried the empanada. I feel like I cannot leave a fair review on the food because I tried so little of it, but the meals that others had looked excellent! It's a little tricky to get to if you're coming from the 535 area. You'll need to do a little u-turn and pull in. It shares a parking lot with a tourist souvenir shop. So whether you're in the mood for cafe or stronger bebidas, they've got you covered. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu! read more

I already lost my appetite when I saw bug swimming in my drink. The bottle sauces were dirty. That tables dirty. I did enjoy their selection of empanadas. read more

Found this place on Yelp and decided to check this place with a local friend. The restaurant had a nice romantic vibe (though not on a date). We ordered our food at the front area then found a table. A simple detail that speaks a lot is that I asked for water, and it was presented in a chilled bottle (fancy). The customer service was really nice - smooth, natural, professional. Good, quiet vibe. The food was also exceptional - I ordered the skirt steak with chimmichurri sauce; it came with three sides :)! My friend had the chicken, and all were delicious. It was good luck on finding food in the area. It's another one to put on the will-return list :) read more

Sofrito ... The food was probably hands down the best Latin American cuisine I've had in a long time. It was so delicious. I was blown away that they have four types of empanadas (Argentinian, Colombian, Cuban, and Venezuelan). I didn't want to pig out so I only ordered two (Argentinian and Venezuelan). Both were so tasty, but I personally prefer the Argentinian empanada since it's baked (the Venezuelan empanada was delicious as well, but it's fried - I'm a little partial to not eat too much fried foods). The main meal I ordered was: churrasco (grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce), which comes with salad and 3 sides of your choice (I got white rice, Cuban black beans, and tostadas). The steak was very well seasoned and very tender (not chewy at all!!). Overall the food was so delicious!! Everything was tasty. Can't wait to come back:) read more

Came here a few days ago after finding them through yelp. We ordered 2 entrees and they were both awesome: churrasco with chimichurri sauce & camarones al ajillo. I also ordered the guava daiquiri which wasn't as sweet as other places make it. Customer service is also good as they check in with you once in a while to make sure everything is ok. read more

Surprised to see such high reviews. I had this place bookmarked for a while. I became skeptical as we pulled in. This is where all the tourists come to eat, of course. I don't trust tourists lol Anyways, here is the breakdown: Cuban empanada: 2.5 out of 5 stars. Lacking in flavor and meat was dry. Colombian empanada: 3.5 out of 5 stars. Better than the Cuban for sure. I would say it was pretty decent. Cachapa. 3 out of 5. Made the mistake of ordering with beef. We ended up scraping off the beef because it was ruining the dish. The beef itself wasn't good anyway and had an offsetting taste. The cheese was very chewy. Patacon. 2 out of 5. The garlic and cilantro sauce was a no go. I was not a fan. They used the SAME beef for this dish as the cachapa, *eye roll* needless to say, we didn't finish this dish. It didn't have a punch of flavor unfortunately. Mini tequenos. 2 out of 5. Ordered with the side of garlic and cilantro sauce. No no no. Not good. The sauce was weak, not garlicky at all. So we ordered the guava one too, and that was a disappointment as well. read more

This is my first time here, when you walk in you place your order l, receive a table number and choose one. The staff is speedy and prompt. I ordered the Strawberry Margarita (rocks w/salt) it's perfect!!! We started with the ham croquettes which are crispy and smooth inside, next the fried pork with peas & rice which was awesome! Our main event was the fried snapper (my gawd) & the steak both delicious but nothing and I mean nothing tops the snapper read more

This is right next door to the courtyard we were staying at. You order at the counter and they bring it to you inside or large patio dining table. We were with a Cuban and told us the food was good and spot on. Most importantly we are here several times during our long seminar weekend. We had sandwiches and plates. All very good. read more

I was in town for a conference and decided to stay in one night and door dash something different. I figured I would test some different things. Cuban empanada want bad but by the time I got it, i was reminded more of a big Chinese dumpling. The flavor of the beef was good though. Arepa de pernil with the cilantro mojo...incredible. Great flavor and massive amount of fall apart pork. Chacapa with pork was very different and wonderful flavors. A sweet corn pancake with loads of white cheese and generous amount of pulled pork. Love to keep trying more options all week. Not sure of the ambiance or service but the food itself is amazingly good read more

What a warm welcoming place. And there's a wonderful terrace to enjoy your food and the sun! I recommend the 35 hour cooked Cuban pork. It is among the best I've ever had. The place is a steal as well. The dishes come with 3 sides and salad! Desserts a must. I had the coconut flan. The Nutella empanada and regular flan looked great as well. The owner comes over and makes sure you're satisfied. For two people with dessert and drinks, it was under $50 with the tip. Highly recommended. read more

This was my favorite breakfast place while visiting Orlando for my new job location. If you're a fan of omelette's like I am this is the place for you. I ordered the Omelet de Jamon y Queso. I also ordered two empanadas. The Venezuelan empanada wasn't as tasteful as the Argentinian empanada but that's probably because I didn't add chicken or beef to it. But as far as the food goes it gets 5 stars from me. Place is also located near/close to the tourists areas. Service was also great. You order at the counter which I like a lot there because the cashier was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. Food was also served and delivered promptly. Also the environment was amazing. It gave me a very modern vibe and overall was a harmonious experience. Will be back again once I start new job near Orlando read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Argentinian Empanada Venezuelan Empanda Omelet de Jamon y Queso - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Stumbled upon this place for dinner and couldn't have been more pleased! First - the food is delicious and a unique and broad selection. We each had an arepa + shared three small dishes (croquettes, yucca, and pastelitos). Second - the service was top notch. It's counter style where you order, sit down, and the food is brought to you. But still felt like a full service restaurant; the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, particularly with the ordering process and recommendations. Lastly, the atmosphere was great. It was busy (even at 4:30pm when we arrived) but you still feel like you have plenty of space and aren't sitting on top of the table next to you. In summary, this place is a hidden gem in otherwise chaotic Orlando! read more

A really divine space, well appointed with lots of natural light. I got one of the empanada specials, and very much enjoyed it. And I always appreciate eateries where I don't have to wait for the waiter, or pay a tip, but instead can just order at the counter, get my food when it's ready, and eat. Let's start a movement for more high quality counter-ordered food, maybe we could wait to expend energy on this just after we solve the gun control debate ... read more

Sofrito is So-freaking good. This is an order at the counter joint and they bring the food to your table. Lots of high chairs for kiddos and a huge patio. Beer on tap too. My husband lost his mind over the plantains, so much so that he ordered a second batch to go. I caught him eating some on our way out to breakfast the next morning. I had the Cachapa and it was delicious. I'll be daydreaming about it for months for sure. read more

EDIT: I'm very impressed by the response time with this. Read my post below to see what I'm referring to. After we had ate some of the food (reviews to follow) the lady who told me that she couldn't comp a drink came by, apologized, and asked me if there was anything I wanted to try (drink or dessert). This is the fastest response I've seen to a customer complaint (literally as we were still having our meal). Onto the food (which was delicious)! Cachapa: this is a Venezuelan dish. A corn pancake like thing, wrapped around some sort of soft cheese taco style, drizzled with sour cream. SO GOOD! Slightly sweet but mostly savory. I haven't had anything like it before, definitely order this if you haven't tried cachapas before (or if you have!) Arepa: their arepas are so crispy crunchy on the outside! I love it. We ordered a beef one with a plantain inside it. Churrasco: this is grilled beef with chimichurri sauce. They make it to order (we got medium well, I'd recommend going medium rare). The chimichurri sauce is soooo flavorful. Comes with three sides, we got Yukon potatoes and plantains and fries. Lots of carbs! Churros: they comped this for us after their super fast response to my review. Drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce, delicious :) ========= Even before I had the food I'm frustrated. I tried to use a yelp check in offer, which is $5 off of an order of $30 or more. I spent $40, and checked into yelp after. I asked if they would let me use the offer since I spent over $30, and I thought there might be trouble with having it apply retroactively. So I asked if they could comp us with a free drink instead (something like coffee or tea, not an alcoholic drink) and all those drinks were under $4. One of the cashiers said she could do it, and told me all of their drink offerings. Then she told me to hold on and went to take a call. Immediately another lady came and asked me what I needed. I explained the situation, and she said there was no way they could do that. I understand that they can't retroactively apply the coupon which is why I asked if they could comp a drink instead. Anyway, it made me frustrated because it shouldn't be that hard to comp a drink, especially since I spent a decent amount of money here. read more

I don't write reviews too often anymore, but I'm probably leaving Florida soon, so I'm going to eat and review everything I possibly can before I go... So, onto Sofrito! Holy heck the food here is So. Damn. Good. It's a combo of Cuban, Venezuelan, Colombian, and other Latin American cuisines. The variety of dishes means there's a ton of things to sample, though I'll admit that I stick to a few favorites. I just love them so much that I can't bear to not eat them. First of all, the ham croquettes are so, so, tasty. There's a soft crunch to the outside, and they're soft and gooey on the inside. Truly perfection. The mini taqueños are also top notch. The cheese inside is melty with a little bit of stretch, and the outer layer is a slightly crispy, chewy, hot pocket of deliciousness. The real star on the menu, for me, is the roasted pork Main Event. The meat is tender and flavorful, and pairs perfectly with all their sides. Speaking of sides, you get your choice of 3(!), plus a small salad. The sides are good enough to order on their own, and I especially enjoy the yellow rice, black beans (my fave), and sweet plantains. Portions are generous enough for leftovers, but good luck not scarfing down everything in one sitting. I like to get a few extra servings of the cilantro garlic mojo to drizzle on top of basically everything. Their iced mocha is a great way to add something sweet at the end of the meal. I haven't made it to the dessert menu yet, but I should probably do something about that before I leave the state. The cachapas also look freaking delicious, and I've often seen the staff eating them, so they must be pretty darn good. The only con here is that they run with a pretty small staff, so service can be a bit slow in the restaurant itself. I remedy this by getting takeout or delivery, which is way faster than dining in. They've always been friendly and upbeat, whether I'm eating there or just picking up. I'm willing to let slow service slide for that reason, I just wouldn't dine at the restaurant if I were on a time crunch. Sofrito, I will truly miss you once I'm back in L.A. Sure, we have Cuban food there, but it's nothing like what I've had here. Good thing I'll be back in a couple months to see a show and stuff myself with your amazing food. read more

So before coming here, we checked yelp of course. We wanted something simple yet tasty. The reviews seemed promising but not quite what I expected. Let's start with basics. * plenty of parking spaces, indoor and outdoor seating available *grab a menu "board, decide what you want and order at the register. take a number and have a seat. I ordered the cachapa with pulled pork on the side. The cheese was sweet and so was the "breading" . the pork was good but not as flavorful as i would have expected. my empanada was ok. It was a bit too bready. kinda too thick for an empanada i think. i don't think i would be back cause it was not what i expected. read more

Best food we had during our visit and probably the most affordable we enjoyed all of it and wish we had more time to go back!

Ordered uber eaTs after getting back from our cruise. We were ready for some comfort food that wasn't chEeseburgers and fries. This was perfect. The chicken Venezuelan empanada and the arepa with carne mechada were the highlights. So perfectly seasoned aNd so delicious! The arepa was so full it expLoded all over and my husband and I fought over who goT to scoop up the delicious bits of meat and beans. We ordered the Pollo a La Plancha and my 3 yr old loved the chicken rice and beans. Everything had amazing flavor. Don't forget the sauces! We tried the cilantro sauce(creamy) and the aji (like a piCo de Gallo). Next time we are in town we will seek this place out!! read more

This place is becoming a family favorite. It's one of the best restaurants outside Disney World that's still pretty close. On our most recent visit, I enjoyed the pulled pork dinner with yellow rice, black beans, and a small salad. At my request, the chef added a serving of roast vegetables--yellow squash, cauliflower florets, sliced mushrooms, strips of green and red peppers, and red onion. Fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked crisp/tender, these veggies earned an awestruck "Wow!" The meat was also nicely seasoned, flavorful but not too spicy. My husband, who'd been having tummy trouble, sipped the warm, rich broth from the chicken soup. It was just what he needed to help him feel better. Portions are generous, and the food makes great leftovers. I took half my dinner back to our cabin and heated it up for lunch the next day. I melted a little butter in a skillet on medium high, added mounds of pork, rice and vegetables, and browned them until they had a golden crust. Delicioso! read more

This is by far the best breakfast we have had in Orlando. I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich and my son and husband the dos huevos desayuno. We also have been searching for a proper "cafe con leche" and let me tell you this place has the best! As well as their juices, my son tried passion fruit and guava and loved it. He is a super picky eater so for him to eat his entire plate was nothing but amazing! I would recommend to come here for a latin breakfast! There are so many options and the quality is superb! I didn't see a kids menu so I do wish that was available but my family and I needed to eat heavy because we did so many activities it was a good amount of food for us. read more
