We finally needed to replace our sofa we originally bought from Sofa U Love over 23 years ago. When we went to the showroom, Johnny and Betty bent over backwards to help us decide on what we wanted, the type of cushioning, and the color. We bought a sofa, a chase and a chair with an ottoman. The quality is top notch, the comfort is incredible and the price was extremely fair. We couldn't be happier. Hoping it will be another 23 years but, if we ever need anything we know who to call. I bought a chaise from Sofa U Love many years ago. I love and use it so much that one of the pillows needed to be re-stuffed with down. I called and they told me to bring it in. Marina was wonderful. Not only did she re-stuff the pillow, but she also made me a new cover for it because mine was leaking feathers. I wanted to pay her more but she wouldn't accept. I was blown away. OMG my sofa is gorgeous!! I came here after having been strung along for 8 months by Interior Define which went bankrupt and got bought out. I really wanted to get a modified version of a chesterfield sofa but more streamlined and with specific brass legs and sloped armrests. I spoke with Marina and texted her pics of the original sofa I wanted. She confirmed that she could modify the armrests and attach whatever legs I wanted. She quoted me a very reasonable price so I made an appointment to go choose from any of their thousands of fabrics. I already knew I wanted a dark green velvet, so that made it easier. She went over the measurements in person and confirmed the measurements of the backrest, seat, height etc were what I wanted. We modified a couple measurements to suit my preference...she even pointed out the tufting on my original sofa was too far apart and showed me a better option. So glad I listened to her! I couldn't be happier with this gorgeous, elegant sofa. She delivered as promised within 5 weeks! They make the sofa right there at their Western Ave location. Sure beats waiting a year for a container from China that will never get here. Nothing beats buying local!!! I highly recommend working with Marina at this specific Western Ave location. BUYERS BEWARE! I have also just left a GOOGLE review and just contacted my attorney to handle the matter. I have purchased from Sofa U Love located on Western Boulevard in the past and have had no problems. For somewhat reason, this time it's been a nightmare. I ordered a couch and chaise chair to be custom made. They turned out lovely, no complaints there. The salesperson was MORENA, who was very nice and cordial while I was placing my order. To my surprise, once you pay and have your order delivered that's it! Customer service is beyond awful! WILL NEVER RETURN ANY OF YOUR CALLS! Remember that if you are going to buy a couch from this store on Western Blvd. Here are my issues: The couch was delivered and one of the legs was in the front that needed to be in the back of the couch to match the chaise chair, with every time you sit on the tufted couch, the buttons pop off in certain places. A quick fix right? That's what I was thinking! Their own delivery person said he couldn't fix it because he did not have any tools. He suggested I call Morena and set another date to come back out to repair. I immediately called her while the delivery guys were in my home. Morena said she would take care of it, did I mention that was in December 2021, and now we are in the middle of March 2022, and nothing has happened in regards to a SIMPLE REPAIR!. A very SIMPLE REPAIR at that! No, instead, I leave numerous phone calls, numerous texts, even get Morena on occasion on the telephone to tell me she will call me right back and never does. It's all a game and I hate games when I am coming into your store in good faith and am treated poorly. I decided to do some research and could not believe the reviews from this store on Western Boulevard and every other negative word is "MORENA". It actually made me feel better that I was not the only one dealing with their terrible customer service. I had my designer in my home today as well who was checking the couch and actually mentioned that he knew of the owner and Morena and it was not nice what he had to say. He said all of his clients that purchased from that store on Western Boulevard have had nothing but problems. All I want is my couch fixed. How ridiculous that I have to write a bad review, call my attorney and most likely go to court if this is not repaired. I am writing to thank Monica and Jonny for their great service. I purchased an L-shaped couch from the Santa Monica store on Montana five/six years ago and the cushions fell apart! When I went back to the Montana store, I was told that the store had changed hands and I would have to pay a considerable amount to replace them - this was not a cheap couch! I said the store was part of a chain and asked for the corporate office. I was given the Hollywood store's' number and worked with Monica. She said the owner agreed to repair all five cushions. However, when I brought them in, Jonny said that I would not be happy with a repair and was offered (at a greatly reduced price!) to replace with new, better quality cushions. Unfortunately we have not had the experience of loving our sofa and have had the company delay resolutions multiple times, including this most recent experience of not receiving a call back from you. I know you told me you would call me back since you were with a customer, but it's now Friday evening of a holiday weekend, causing yet another delay. To bring you up to speed, here was my text to Betty on Tuesday, 5/25/21 Hi Betty, This is Melanie and Josh. Hope you and your family are doing well. I wanted to contact you sooner but we weren't allowing any workers in our home due to covid. Now that things are opening back up we would like to pick up where we left off and address the couch issues. The cushions are still not right and the structure of the couch doesn't line up either. I purchased taller legs because the ones Sam gave me still weren't tall enough to accommodate the oversized skirt. Sam also came and removed the part of the cushion that was extending past the structure of the couch on the right side. He also cut some of the other cushions down, too, to make them fit better. It was quite the experience watching him use our kitchen butcher knife to cut the interior foam. I have to say, I was expecting a more professional solution. However, with the largest cushion, because the foam on the left side was cut to make it fit, the part of the cushion on the right STILL extends over the edge and the integrity of the cushion was lost. If we try to sit in that spot the cushion collapses. We've had so much trouble with this couch since we got it with multiple texts and visits to you to make it right and we really want to give Sofa U Love the opportunity to correct this since it was never done in a timely manner and then we had to deal with a world pandemic. Beware !!!Marina took our deposit and never delivered our product 11 months have passed with no response to our phone calls or text messages, Unfortunately we live 5 states away. This issue has been disputed with the credit card company however if it takes longer than 60 days which it has the credit card company cannot do anything and suggested taking this to small claims court in California. Vincent reached out to me several times offering to make things right and he was persistent! He reached out several times and offered to make me a new slipcover for a sofa I ended up buying elsewhere. I agreed and went in to meet with him. I picked out my fabric, the stitching I wanted and he had the sofa picked up as soon as the fabric came in. It was picked up Thursday afternoon and brought back looking brand new on Friday afternoon - the very next day! I have to say, the couch looks and feels amazing! I had to bring in a few sofa cushions to be patched after some serious wear and tear, and Marina and Johnny (owner) were wonderful. After explaining why they couldn't do what I'd asked them to do, they kindly explained all my available options. They even showed me how each option would look and feel once completed. This was during a very busy Monday morning when they weren't expecting me- and they still took an abundance of time to explain and display how my repaired cushions would look.
