Used them today. I called Saturday 5/14/16 and they told me they could pick up Monday 5/16/16 between 12pm to 4pm. They came at 2pm and called 1 hour before arrival. $95.00 for a sleeper sofa in and out. Nice guys! I'm glad I found them on yelp. Everyone else wanted $200 and up. They had a large truck and they took the sofa to dispose and not leave outside my apartment garbage area like most tenants do. read more

My new sofa was scheduled to be delivered on Saturday between 11am and 1pm, so I had to get rid of my old sofa. Living in a walkup in NYC, I did not expect to succesfully sell it on Craig's list, and anyway I didn't have time to list it and wait around for responses. So, I googled "sofa removal NYC" and found this site. I called Saturday morning at 9:30am and I arranged for them to come to my apartment between 12pm and 1pm that day. They arrived just after 1pm (after my new couch was successfully delivered). The two guys were friendly and heroically navigated my deeep sofa down three flights of stairs, without needing to remove the legs (though they brought tools just in case). Overall I was very satisfied with the service. I paid cash and gave a big tip because it was snowing outside and I live in a walkup, but even so the price was reasonable. read more

What a brilliant find! Thanks to the previous yelp reviews, I called Joe to get a quote to remove my old couch after Salvation Army arrived and said they couldn't take it because it was too worn. Joe was terrific. I received a reasonable quote over the phone (btw... It's based on what floor and whether there's an elevator it will fit in, or a walk-up). He was available the very next day, provided a 2-hr window for when he'd be here, and then called the day of to confirm when he estimated he would arrive. He and his partner worked very efficiently and carefully to remove the couch from our apartment. I highly recommend his services! read more

Everything here is on the money. Joe is a great guy. Called them up, hesitant due to the company name , kind of generic but the price was right and no nonsense furniture removed!. You need furniture removed? It was gone in no time. If you state clearly what you need and when Joe will take care of you. If you are high maintenance , no one has time for that this is New York and he will be brusque with good reason. Joe and his colleague arrived at the time we agreed upon over the phone , and took care of business. We live in a walk up apartment with narrow stairs and these guys did a really tough job in a matter of minutes to get the couch out of there. I was nervous that this would be a big headache but I can confidently say Joe is a great business man and Sofa Removal is a great business. These guys were amazing. They removed a 3 seat heavy couch for me and I'm on a 3rd floor walk up. The entire process was painless and took less than 10 mins. We found Sofa Removal after a google search and making a few calls to have our old sofa removed. We called Joe around 3:30 pm and were able to schedule an appointment for the same day since our new sofa was delivered earlier than expected. He gave us an appointment window of 5pm - 9pm but we had to change to 8 pm - the latest our building allows move outs. Joe and his partner arrived by 5:45 pm and were in and out by 6 pm after waiting on a parking spot. They removed a sleeper sofa (96" L x 30" H x 37.5 W) in about 5 minutes for $95 (cash) and they accept credit cards. My first choice was to donate to Salvation Army but they don't take furniture unless it's in condition for resale. Other removal vendors quoted $200 - $250, although we did find another option for $120 Brianandhisvan Moving & Junk Removal Service that was our second choice if Joe couldn't make it. We may use Brian for our next removal once we find a replacement for the loveseat. read more

I called to have a sofa removed. We scheduled everything and then he quoted me a price that was higher than what's advertised on the website. I asked him about that and he mumbled a bit before telling me that he was actually too busy to get it this week. It just struck me as the kind of operation that would also try charging a higher fee once at the apartment. I'll pay for a more reputable place. read more

Okay, I don't get the few negative comments. I found the listing online just via Google and called the number after reading the pricing schedule. Yes, the person who answered the phone was on a cell, and it took some time to answer, but I knew this was likely a two-man operation, so I didn't mind. We set a time for the next day removal of my very old hide-a-bed, and agreed on a very fair price (way less than the big companies). The next day, they guys came when they said they would, after calling an hour in advance, and were friendly, professional, and clearly hard-working. In all, it took about five minutes for the removal, including me walking the cushions out to the guys' truck. I will be calling them in about 20 years when I need my new sofa removed. Highly recommended! (Oh, and PS for the non-New Yorkers who think the world revolves around credit cards, this is the type of business that appreciates cash payments.) read more

These guys were great. I called at 10:00 to remove my sectional and they came the same day at 12:00. The sectional needed to be cut in half to fit through the door and they brought their tools with them. They worked quickly and were done in forty five minutes. I called Joe Saturday morning--he offered to come the same day, but I couldn't fit it in so he came the next day. He called to let me know he was on the way and showed up exactly when he told me he would be there. Very friendly and extremely efficient, not to mention very well priced. I called to have my Ikea sofa removed from a 2nd Floor walk-up. We scheduled pick-up for the next day between 12-2pm. Joe, the man who answered the phone, said he would call 1-1.5 hours before his arrival. He called at 11:15am and said he'd be there in 45 minutes. He was! Joe immediately assessed the sofa, called another man up to help, and they quickly removed the sofa from my apartment. It was a very quick, easy transfer and it worked out better than I imagined (I was nervous about allowing strangers in). Other junk removal companies charge a whole lot more than Sofa Removal.
