I've been lucky to do business with Sofa Interiors for all my sofa and reupholstering and slip cover needs and repairs since 2007 when I bought my first sofa from them (they were in Studio City then)!! It's like having my own private upholsterer. My first adventure involved my dog and her ball that kept rolling under the couch. Silly dog shredded the skirt of my slipcover and Faviola was able to find/match the fabric and replace just the skirt. Totally washable slipcover, super comfy sofa was new again. Fast forward, sofa cushions got tired, cover still lovely, so Faviola and team refilled my cushions, made the cushions like new again. Fast forward to this past visit.... dog again... shredded too much, so we had a whole new slipcover for my 20 year sofa and it's fantastic!! Faviola is a great careful, communicator. We are very happy with Sofa Interiors. We dealt primarily with Brittany and she was awesome. Very helpful. We bought a custom made sectional and had a few seat cushions made for our iron chairs. The big item was the custom sectional. Brittany helped us with the design and we took things we liked from various couches in their store and made a complete custom sectional. We were able to choose the stiffness, materials, piping and length and depth, making it a one-of-a-kind couch. It took about 4 weeks to have made. WE LOVE IT. I was also impressed that while they were making the sectional, their warehouse/builder called me and made a suggestion that turned out to be very important. He could have just built the sectional to our specifications, but he took the time to call me and made a suggestion. He mentioned if they made the couch just a few inches shorter on one end of the sectional, all the cushions would be the same size and therefore interchangeable. That may not seem like a big deal, but it gives us more options and I was impressed they bothered to call me. I would recommend this place for any custom couch or chair or reupholstering project. I highly discourage a reupholster with Sofa Interiors if you have a large piece of furniture. My husband and I most recently had a large sectional reupholstered with a gray microfiber. Upon completion of our sofa, we were disappointed to see a very visible seam on the chaise! Our sales rep Britt was professional and understanding. She explained the rolls come 54" wide and the manufacturer will always choose an extention piece when the area is larger than the fabric. The back cushion is not large enough to cover the seam as the seam is so far out and a horrible eye sore. We were offered the only way to eliminate the seam would be changing the direction of the nap (which would mean one cushion will look a different color from the rest of the sofa). We did not want to trade one eye sore for another. Our biggest disappointment is had we known and there was communication before the reupholster that this seam was a possibility, we would have perhaps selected a different fabric that would maybe not be as visible. We asked for a small discount for the eye sore and was told "management has not approved any reimbursement." read more

The staff is great and very helpful, a real pleasure to work with. We ordered custom sizes and we didn't get anything close to the sizes we ordered. Every model on their floor has a 36 inch depth with a 21 inch seating area. I wanted 38 inch depth and 23 inches minimum in the seating area. Beware, they have a +/- 1.5 inch allowance in their contract. Because of this we told Tracy we wanted a minimum 23 inch seat allowance. What did we get? 21 inches, just like every floor sample. Sad that I spent so much money to be so disappointed. They don't do custom sizing. Wished we would have gone down to the Glendale store to measure before making final payment. read more

The showroom has beautiful pieces on display as well as endless, and I do mean endless, fabric swatches to choose from. While fabulous, this selection can be quite overwhelming. Enter Rose. I have been shopping all of my life. I have never worked with anyone as sharp as Rose. From organizing those countless swatches to meet my needs, to making sure every detail (and there were many) of my order was perfect - Rose displayed patience, picked up on my personal taste, showed tremendous attention to detail and followed through on every last stitch. I now have the most beautiful sectional sofa and dining room chairs. The 'artist' who reupholstered my chairs does some of the finest work I've ever seen. My sincere thanks to him. My experience with sofa interiors was the worst experience I have ever had with any business. I ordered 22 cushions to be reupholstered. I gave them my original cushions to duplicate. When they came back which took 4 times longer than they quoted me they had decided to put zippers in the back and to make the ties 5 times larger than my original ones plus they did not use the same thread color so the thread stood out plus the zippers weren't even stitched correctly. It took forever for the owner to call me back when I sent him pictures. He yelled at me and tried to make it my fault? I own a business and would never treat any customer that way. After several lengthy phone calls with this volatile owner, I requested he come to my home and inspect each one of the cushions and take the ones that needed repaired. He refused again and made us return 22 cushions. This was another huge inconvenience to me his customer! He gave me his word that he would inspect each one and make sure they were all to his satisfaction and quality he claims he has...another 2 weeks of waiting and when we got them home and took them out of the bags the stitching was still all messed up. I sent him pictures and emails and all he will say is return them again! I wanted him to give us 10 percent off that he advertises in a magazine but he refuses. Trust me do not use sofa interiors or you will be greatly dissatisfied and greatly inconvenience while you are paying top dollar for his product! read more

I created a couch with the assistance of the Marcia and it turned out great! I was there many times working out the design and feel. It was work, however, a couch should be an investment because you will keep it for years and sit on it daily. I got what I wanted and they were very nice working through this. Yes, there was an issue. When I got the couch, the cushions seemed a little to soft. As was explained to me, the fabric has an effect on the feel of the cushion and mine made it softer than the model. Marcia referred me to Scott, the boss at the home store. He said bring it in and we will check it out. I brought it over and after a discussion and sampling, I changed the cushion. No price change. Three business days later they called saying the cushions are ready. I tested them when I picked them up and they were very comfortable. I was quite satisfied. I thanked him and will continue to do business with them. Then I went to brewery across the street and continued my enjoyment. read more

We just stopped in to order furniture today after weeks of looking around, only to be met with a wave of cigarette smoke upon entering. As we got deeper into the store it was choking me so we had to leave. I can't say how dissappointed we are! She clearly had been chain smoking while sitting at the desk. She was on the phone and my husband told her we had to leave because of the smoke and she waived the air in front of her mouth. As we left in shock, we could see her spraying an aerosol can around the store. I feel bad for the people who bought the white, two toned, curved sofa in the front window that has a sign on it to please not sit on it as it's sold. We had a large sofa made at SI and we were very excited! Very nice peolple. Unfortunately, after spending a lot of money for what we thought was a special piece, we had to spend another third to redo the pillow casings, because the "down" was coming through. The down is actually feathers, so they have not stopped coming through to the surface of the sofa! It looks like we have a chicken coop, the way we pick up feathers on a daily basis. All and all, we spent a lot of money and did not get a quality product. read more

They promised a 2week time to order fabric to reupholster a sofa. 5 weeks later after calling every day, and listening to excuses, story's and blaming each other, I was told the wrong fabric was sent. After days of working that out I was told my sofa would be picked up between 10:00-2:00. At 4:30 they show up only to tell me they did not have room in the truck! We recently had 2 bar stools reupholstered at Sofa Interiors in Santa Clarita. The stools are on a wood frame and have back and seat cushions. We selected a perfect fabric that was soft and comfortable. Marcia told us we could choose a medium firm cushion or go with a firmer cushion. She told us the firmer cushion would be more durable so we made the decision to go with the firmer seat cushions. I also asked that the seat cushions be made 1 " deeper from the original cushions. When they were completed and we brought them home, they were too firm and too high. I would advise when adding additional height to a seat cushion it changes the dynamics of the seat and I would not recommend doing it. I was unhappy with the comfort of the bar stools. We called Marcia and she contacted their factory and negotiated with them to take them back to be reupholstered once again. They agreed to replace the seat cushions with medium foam and make the seats 1" lower. I am sure it was not such an easy task as they had to take them all apart and preserve the new fabric. I did have to pay a reasonable charge to make these corrections. I also asked them to touch up the scratches and worn areas on both wooden bases of the stools which they did and the wood looks like new. We were very pleased with Marcia and the staff at Sofa Interiors for their cooperation and professionalism. When we got them back the second time they were perfect. I would highly recommend them because they will do whatever it takes to satisfy their customers. Marcia is amazing to work with. Thank you Marcia. read more
