He clearly states what he intends to do, then does exactly that: shows up when he says he will (texting us in advance that he is on the way), evaluates the issues, shares his recommendation and quote, then does the agreed-upon work with surgical precision. His high level of skill and quality results speak for themselves. He provided efficient work at an exceptional value for the cost. Ben installed our two new toilets and repaired related plumbing, replaced a leaking kitchen disposal, repaired under-sink kitchen plumbing to accommodate a new reverse osmosis hot and cold water on-demand system, and diagnosed a few other fixes along the way. We added a simple in-line descaling unit to help reduce the hard water sediment, and noticed results almost immediately. He knew our faulty kitchen faucet head was covered under warranty and called to get a replacement on its way to us. He installed a new water main easy access shut-off valve so we don't have to reach waaay down behind the water heater for an old school dial knob. So helpful! Ben is super clean, organized, professional and personable. He wears booties when entering the home, lays his tools neatly out on his work mat, has a tub to collect anything he removes, and leaves the place far better than he finds it. He also reached out several times to follow up after the appointments, to see that the new installations were working as expected and that we were happy. We've used Ben twice, once to install plumbing for washer and once to install plumbing for a utility sink. He shows up when you call, he actually does the work once you accept the bid (can you tell I've had problems with other plumbers?), very conscientious about his work and keeping you updated on his progress, finds ways that are the least invasive as possible, and cleans up when he's completed the job. I was very pleased with their service. We woke up to find ourselves without hot water from our 3-year old hot water heater. The company that installed it couldn't schedule anyone for 3 days!!. I got to know Benjamin Schoy and his excellent company in 2 visits over 2 consecutive days. The pilot light in my water heater would not stay lit and I am disabled with limited mobility so Youtube's DIY couldn't help. Found Bayz Plumbing Service instantly on the internet and place a service request which got a callback within a half hour and appointment next day. Ben was friendly and considerate with this old man and explained the procedure and costs up front. He got everything done quickly and cleanly with the WH Controller and made me aware of possible future problems since it's an old appliance. That evening, my garbage disposal backed up and overflowed the kitchen sinks. Our plumbing "we know a guy" from now on! Our hot water heater started leaking a few days before we were supposed to have family visiting. Ben came out the same day I called to look at our current hot water heater and give us a quote. My husband and I were kicking around the idea of switching to a tankless since we were replacing it anyway. Another 5 star review for Ben. We got our EBMUD bill this morning and it was another whopper. It said we were using over 1,100 gallons of water A DAY. We had issues with our prior bill, as well. We figured it was an issue (that we had resolved) with a new irrigation system. This new bill had me worried there was something else. I called Ben and he arrived by noon. He worked with me to test a few different scenarios and determine that there was not a leak in our house/pipes/toilets/sinks. We now have a really good idea of what the issue is, all thanks to Ben. Our water heater started leaking on Christmas Eve, so I began frantically calling around to see if a plumber was available. I called and left messages with several local companies, and Ben was the only plumber to call me back. Ben was full that day, but, he personally called around to several other companies to check their availability before calling me back to see if anyone could squeeze me in before the holiday. We ended up scheduling with Ben for a later date, and we couldn't be happier with his service. He completed the job efficiently, but I didn't feel like he was "rushing" through my repair to move on to his next customer. He gives pricing up front and he doesn't collect payment until the job is done. Furthermore, a couple of hours after install was complete, our water still wasn't to the temperature I would expect, so I contacted Ben. He came back out to our home after finishing up with his last customer (the same day), and got things squared away. Then, he hung around after he was finished to make sure the water was heating up (beyond normal business hours). After he left again, he sent me a follow up text to ensure we had hot water. After going through another company who didn't know much about residential water heaters and basically scammed us I decided to call Bayz plumbing and I wish I called them first. We called on a weekday during 6 or 7 pm and left a message and Benjamin called us back within minutes after leaving a message. I told him what our problem was with our heater (Kept having to turn the water heater off and on as the hot water kept turning off all the time and after awhile there was no hot water at all) and he helped us over the phone. Benjamin came over the next day to look at our Rheem water heater and let us know exactly what was going on and told us to call the company to order the necessary parts. As soon as the parts came in we had Benjamin come back over to install everything (my husband and I didn't want to try and attempt and possibly fail so why not hire the professional) and he did it so fast! Our old water heater let go late at night and I started calling for help the next morning. Ben with Bayz called back within 30 minutes and offered to come out in an hour to look over. He came by right on time, provided an estimate for replacement (the heater had to go), and confirmed that the new heater could be installed today. I gave the go-ahead and Ben immediately began work to fully drain and then remove the old heater. He was personable and happy to explain what he was doing - and why - and after about an hour's work he let me know that he was going to pick up the new heater and would return in about an hour - which he did. I contacted Benjamin at BayZ Plumbing because of all the stellar reviews I read regarding his work. I can't really add anything new to those 5-star reviews, so I will just say that, yes, Benjamin is all those things: knowledgeable, personable, professional, efficient, and conscientious. I had put in a new bathroom sink but because the sink drain was now about 4 inches farther to the rear than the original one, the sink drain pipe was almost on top of the short, rigid stub-out in the wall under the sink. Benjamin quickly sized up the situation, wrote up the service order, and efficiently modified the stub-out and installed a new drain trap for me. He encouraged me to watch what he was doing and explained each step in the modification and trap installation to me.
