My experience at SOCO Smog test was absolutely the best smog test I have ever experienced! I received a $20 coupon in the mail and decided to try this "Woman Owned and Operated" business. The car bay hardly looks like an automotive business - walls are painted a nice pastel green with decorative plants. There are pictures of the smoggy days in Los Angeles (1950's maybe?)( before smog controls--pictures of people wearing smog masks in the city). Check in was super efficient. Angie was very pleasant, making small talk while carrying out the inspection. She complimented me on the condition of my car. I told Angie she reminded me of Marisa Tomei in the movie "My Cousin Vinny"! I am recommending this business to all my friends and neighbors. Be sure to get the coupon from the website. read more

I was there today and Angie, the owner could not have been any nicer. Her sweet dog greeted me when I arrived (looking for treats) and it got better from there. Just a bit of paperwork and my test began, 10 minutes later it the test was done, Angie gave me a great discount for using Yelp and I was ready to go. My test results were electronically sent to the DMV the minute I passed. Thanked Angie & told her I would see her the next time. A dreaded task is complete! read more

This place totally rocks the owner is one of the nicest people I have met in forever. Came here with my car due to registration transfer from out of state. In and out in the 15 mins as advertised! The whole thing went so smooth. Go here support women owned businesses! You won't regret it! read more

I love this place, been here a couple times. Angie is great. You can set up an appointment online and she does the test quickly and works with you if you have any issues, which I had one issue years ago and we got it sorted. I was in and out in just 10 minutes. Highly recommend! read more

Very highly recommended this woman owned company!! Angie is super professional, quick, and friendly. I made an appointment for the next day for my SMOG check and I was in and out, super easy and straightforward. The shop and waiting area are very clean and inviting. And I love that they are an eco friendly facility! I highly recommend Angie and will be coming here whenever I need a smog check! read more

I love everything about this place! I was searching yelp for a place to get my car smogged, not only did the 5 start rating jump but the words "female owned" drew me in. Angie does it right! So sweet and easy to work with! I called first thing in the morning and she was able to fit me in on my lunch break. Unlike your average auto shop, her waiting room was warm and inviting and definitely had the woman's touch and not a small, dirty shop you are usually used too. She even has a kid play area and reading nook! Fair prices and even has coupons! I definitely will be referring her to everyone I know! read more

Angie if you happen to see this I want you to know you are awesome!! This was my first time at Soco Smog Test, and before going I had no idea this was a woman owned shop, I was thrilled when I found out. Angie was super personable and had great vibe and energy. She was so kind and sweet to my kids who just wanted to talk her ear off lol. She was knowledgeable and gave me some good advice about my car. She had us in and out of there in no time. If I could give her 10 stars I totally would! HIGHLY recommend!! read more

Angie was so nice and helpful. She was a real delight while she was working on my car. I definitely enjoyed my experience, and it didn't take long at all. Prices are very good too. Don't waste your money at those cheap smog places that don't take any interest in you or your car. Will go back! read more

I found soco smog on google. They have a high rating from about 100 reviewers which made me feel comfortable trying them out. I booked an appointment through their website and immediately received an confirmation email. I arrived on time and parked my car directly in front of the garage. The owner saw me within a minute or arriving and the smog check took minutes to complete. I had enough time to get a smog check and pick up my lunch during my lunch break! Make sure you bring your DMV paper with you! read more

Highly recommend this place. The young woman who assisted me was very kind. Sadly my car had been recently serviced for a recall and so I did not have enough data on my car computer to pass the first time. But she explained all of this to me and offered a free retest and since it's a car I don't drive often she was flexible on my return date for the retest. I am super busy so I am always so grateful when service providers can make my life easier, but more difficult! Thank you so much for making this such an easy process!! read more

I've visited a couple other smog check places around Costa Mesa in the past, which are totally fine, but Angie's business feels more than just that. I called in the morning inquiring about getting a smog check, and without an appointment, I just happened to stop by later in the afternoon. She was extremely friendly from the start, and took care of my car right away before her next appointment. I could've opted to sit inside on the couch with a free refreshment, but Angie and I pretty much conversed the entire time during my service. It was like we had already been friends for a while. Pretty much made my day. She was quick and professional and was really appreciative for supporting her business, which I will continue to do! She has an amazing attitude. I highly recommend giving your business to her! Another big perk: her sweet, friendly shop dog, Haru. He just itches for belly scratches and he loves to follow Angie around. I would go back just for him too haha. read more

The MOST comfortable experience I've EVER had in this kind of environment! To all the girlies out there who need a smog and want to feel comfortable in a safe environment THIS IS THE PLACE! Angie was welcoming and kind from the moment I arrived till the moment I left. It's was so refreshing being in an auto shop and be able to talk to a woman and feel comfortable. The ambiance was clean and cute and the next time I need a smog this will be my place! Thank you for a great experience! read more

It is so seldom that I rush to give an enthusiastic review on Yelp the same day I got the service. However, when a business and an owner -- in this case Angie Hernandez, owner of Soco Smog Test -- go WAY BEYOND EXCEPTIONAL in customer service, delivery of service and a VERY clean office/smog test space, I am thrilled to give a rave review. Keep in mind I have gotten to mistrust most car service places either because they did lousy, in some cases, damaging work, are over-priced, push to upsell or give poor customer service. There is something wonderful about a woman's touch in business that typically is delivered by a man and defies all stereotypes. Angie has fabulous people skills so will make you feel at ease right away, offers reasonable rates, keeps an immaculate work area, cares about your comfort and safety. Easy to make appointments in advance. Definitely Angie goes the extra mile that few businesses are willing to go these days. In fact, she noticed, while smogging my car, that pressure in one of my tires was extremely low and put air in it, as well as inspected for any nails!!! I STRONGLY recommend if you need to get your car smogged, go to Soco Smog Test! It was worth driving a couple of extra miles even though there are plenty of options within blocks of myself. Thanks again Angie! I'll be back! read more

My Lambo smog was due and I searched on yelp to see who would be best equip to handle it. I'm glad, I found Soco. Luz was very friendly and accommodating, got me in and out within 10 minutes. Their lobby was very clean and pleasant which was unexpected from a "typical" smog place, but this was not a typical smog place. This is definitely the best smog shop around. Highly recommended!! read more

I chose this location because it had great reviews and was close to work. I could go on my lunch break. I also like to support woman owned business. I really wanted to like this place. The owner is friendly and has a nice clean shop. She seems very professional, although failed me on a visual because she said my vehicle was supposed to have more catalytic converters then what she could see. She suggested I call the state referee. I did call the state referee. But what they needed would have taken more time than I had. The referee suggested I go somewhere else to get a second opinion. I ended up taking my vehicle to the place I usually take it that weekend and it passed with no questions asked. Sorry to say, I will not be back to Soco. read more

Angie is super sweet. First of all, woman owned? Heck yeah. Second of all, it's true what they say, Angie is great. She can really make conversation with everyone. I looked for a place on Yelp and found this gem. She's amazing and does it herself. I can respect that, probably because it's a male dominated industry. That's really just a plus. I really enjoyed her customer service. She's delightful. It was super quick and she's amazing. Definitely recommend. read more

Came here for a smog test because of all the other great reviews and I live close enough where it was just super convenient. Angie is super professional and friendly, and she was kind enough to ask if I had a coupon, which I did but totally forgot about. Pricing is competitive (even better with the coupon from Yelp or her website), and was well worth it because I was in and out within 15 minutes. I'll definitely be coming back for future smog tests. read more
