I took my vehicle in for smog and the technician failed my vehicle bc there was a check engine light on due to a loose gas cap of all things. Instead of tightening and running again, he said I need to drive with tight fuel cap but that I'll need to pay another fee to have him run it again. Basically finding ways to double charge. I will never come here again. read more

Vehicle had no engine lights, passed smog check except needed to drive 100 miles to verify catalytic converter per tester.Was told to return to verify one thing.Upon returning was asked several times if I had it tested.I answered no I was not told to or I would have as I have a scan tool.However now he wants to charge full price 140.00 even though all physical checks don't need to be done and I was not told I would have to pay full price.So I asked would I be charged a third time (420.00) total... yes i would. An honest shop would do a basic scan and told me to come back for the full check.I left and will never go there again or refer anyone, you need to be upfront and honest. read more

I've driven by this smog station multiple times and never thought twice about it until I needed a smog check done for my upcoming car registration renewal. I jumped on Yelp to search up a smog place and I was reunited with this place! I really needed it done same day since I waited until the last minute (aahh!) I called ahead to ask about availability and he said he'll see me soon! I arrived without the renewal documents and he still took care of me. He offered water bottles and we waited until the test was done- it really only took 20 minutes (despite there being about 4 other people there) and I paid $68 for my sedan. The results were electronically transmitted to the DMV so the whole process was very seamless. I would absolutely recommend Zee's smog to anyone needing a same day smog test!! I showed up just as he was closing and locking up his door for the night, any other place probably would've turned me down and said "come back tomorrow", but not Zee! He happily greeted me, opened up his doors and smogged my car quickly and efficiently, without making me feel rushed or like I was burdening him for staying open later than the posted hours. I had a terrible experience at Zee's Smog Check. I found the owner's business practices to be misleading and unprofessional. He performed the initial test and charged me the full amount, only to inform me afterward that the car's monitors weren't ready to be tested. If he had been transparent from the start, he would have checked the readiness monitors before running the official test. To make matters worse, when I followed his instructions to drive the car and return, he tried to charge me the full price a second time. Most smog stations offer a free retest within a certain window for this exact reason. I will not be returning and I suggest looking for a more honest smog testing station . read more

Great customer service. Zee was very informative when I came to get my old pick up truck smogged. I was the first one there when he opened up for the day. He let me know that it was gonna take about 15 mins for the machine to warm up and get calibrated which I appreciated. While that was happening he was helping other customers that came in right after me getting them all squared away also. Not a min wasted with this guy!!! With the shop I went to before, they turned me away before even letting me fill out paper work saying my aftermarket catalytic converter was gonna make me fail!!! (I'm the original owner and have never had it replaced). So many places try and give you the run around. Zee is great though he tries his best to help everyone read more

Went here to have my 1998 BMW 7 series smogged. The gentleman was nice and friendly. The older cars like mine require more of an extensive test. After waiting patiently 20 minutes for him to finish with other customers, mine was up. Then someone came with a Porsche and he took that car in before mine. At that point I left. I'm a business professional and if he wants to prioritize a quicker job over a new customer that had already been waiting I'll happily take my business elsewhere. I find that pretty disrespectful and not the way to treat customers. I was pretty disappointed and wouldn't recommend based on this experience. Also, I see the owner replied but I can't seem to see where to leave a response to the reply so i'll leave it here. Yes, I'm well aware that others were there prior to my arrival, which is why I patiently waited almost a half hour for them to be completed. When my turn was up, I was very obviously disregarded when the Porsche showed up. I do not dispute that you were setting up the machine etc, but you should have continued testing my car on a first come first serve basis. I had already been waiting quite some time before the Porsche even arrived. I literally asked you if you were going to smog his car before mine even though he had arrived half an hour after me and you replied yes. At that point I left. As to your comment about the car not passing because it hadn't be on the road for 3 years.. It passed with flying colors at another station after work (which I also reviewed as it was the opposite experience I had with you.) It was just unfortunate I landed on your station with my attempt to get it completed before work. In terms of your comments on asking for a discount - I did inquire if that was the best price as smog places often have $5-20 coupons online. When you said that was the best you could do, I was totally fine with the price. It's a 27 year old BMW that I sunk 12k in for a new engine and transmission, I'm not going to get hung up about $20... Funny enough without inquiring about price at all with the station I ultimately went to and passed on the same day, their price was 30% cheaper off. Now if you came on here and apologized about the way you approached this mornings situation and for totally wasting my time instead of being straightforward with me, I would have happily just deleted my review and understood that these things happen. However, since you decided to reply with a bunch of excuses, I figured I'd give you the respect to reply. The joke at the end of all of this is that this is one of 9 vehicles I have, and is the least expensive vehicle I own. Maybe you'll think twice by disrespecting a customer next time. Or perhaps next time I'll get better service by bringing one of my vehicles worth triple the cost of that Porsche. Unfortunately there won't be a next time. I wish you the best. To those reading this - If you have a model year 2000 or up vehicle, this seems to be a decent place to go. But if you have an older car, I would highly recommend you seek the place I reviewed later in the day. If you look at Zee's previous one star reviews, you will find another customer that had similar treatment with an older vehicle. I don't review places often because I am extremely short on time, so if I post a review, it's usually when service is egregiously bad, or exceptionally good.
