We own Tokyo Automotive of Orange Coast a few minutes away. Our regular SMOG guy doesn't do older cars, and thus sought a place with a dyno. Then I remembered this cute gal stopped by with a stack of business cards. At first I didn't give her much attention, like I often do with most sales people, but I guess her professionalism and the good looking business card helped. It didn't hurt either that the other SMOG shop in the neighborhood that has a dynos owned/operated by a grumpy SOB. I get there and I see the shop is super clean and decorated nicely. I also had a lengthy conversation about business ownership and philosophy on how to run a shop. Oh and I was surprised to see that she actually does the SMOGs herself. I'm all in support of under-represented in skilled trades (or anywhere). Angie, I'll be coming back! read more

Quick, easy, and friendly service last week. This will be my new go to spot for Smog testing.

Angie is awesome. Got me in right away and had me all set very quickly. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Always quick, friendly and knowledgeable! I always make an appointment online and am greeted immediately. The process is quick and the shop is cozy with sparkling water and plants. She's honest and great at her trade! Highly recommend read more

I found this place near me through Google. Their appointment system was super easy and I was glad they had excellent availability. When I arrived, Angie greeted me and had me check in, also very easy. While checking in, Angie was very personable and asked me how my day was going and if I had anything else planned. We swapped stories about sharing the exact vehicle and also bonded over some tattoos. I felt very tended to. I also appreciated that Angie let me know how well my car was looking for its age. The smog check itself was quick! about 10-15 minutes. Couldn't have had a better experience. Thanks Angie! read more

Soco smog is honestly the only smog test location I will go to from now on. I had gone previously about 4 years ago and loved the experience I had with the owner Angie. So much so, that now with a completely different car, I decided I wanted to come back to soco smog. Angie is amazing. She inspects the car and you can tell she is making sure everything is up to par. She is kind and amazing with all the customers and offers such a welcoming environment. On top of that, I was in and out in 20 mins! As a young woman, I find the car industry to be very intimidating and male dominated, but Angie relieves all my stress for smog tests. She is great, her service is great, and her prices are amazing for the area! Please don't hesitate to go get your car smogged there. You won't regret it! read more

this place is so great!!! the technician i worked with was extremely friendly and clearly very competent which is important above all else. beyond that, as a woman sometimes it can be daunting to work with mechanics. i felt very comfortable here and she did a great job with my car. as an added plus the decor is super cute :) highly recommend! read more

This is my second time getting a smog check from Angie -- I will be back here next time and have already recommended it to my friends. Last time I came I got to wait with her adorable dog! The best Smog Test place I've ever been to, by far. The owner Angie was there to test my vehicle, she gave me some great advice on how I should move forward with the situation I had with my car. I don't think I've ever met an auto technician as sincere as Angie was. She was unbelievably helpful. My day instantly got better after stopping by this shop. I never thought I'd be writing a review this positive for a Smog Test, but it was that good of an experience. Highly recommend this place for all their services. Thank you Angie! read more

ANGIE IS THE WOoOoOoOoOMAN!!!!! I brought in my 2005 Camry this morning for a smog test with no appointment. I was greeted by Angie, her sweet doggy, and a beautiful clean lobby. There was a customer in the lobby and another one pulling up! Happy to see her shop is so popular!!! It was only a few min before Angie pulled my car in and began the smog test. A short 15 min later she was done! Certificate is sent to the DMV, payment is made, keys are handed over, DONE DEAL! So quick and efficient. I have to get a smog test every year because of my older vehicle and this is THE BEST shop I've visited. I will be ONLY coming here for future tests. Her pricing is competitive with other shops, but you get a 5-star experience here! Why would you want to try anywhere else!?! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR, ANGIE!!!!!!! :) read more

Wow. Actually a pleasant smog check experience for once! Angie was AMAZING. I made an appointment easily online, and she was super friendly and efficient. Went there for the first time on 12/11/2023 and can definitely recommend - I will be back. Super easy making the appointment online and it even populated my Google calendar with the appointment details. You check in on a tablet when you arrive and the smog test is performed right in front of you. I don't know if it's standard to check out your car -- engine and all the other stuff under the hood and underneath the car -- but Angie did that in addition to the smog test. They send the results directly to the DMV. Easy, fast, no hassle read more

Angie is super friendly and does an awesome job! There was no wait for us and it is a great value. Thanks Angie!

I just moved back to CA and at the last minute remembered I'd needed a smog check before heading to the DMV to register my car. I made an appointment morning-of, and the owner was very efficient and friendly. Price is fair, her website has a coupon you can redeem in person by showing it to her on your phone. I don't know how challenging or easy it is to be eco-conscious in this industry, but you certainly have my patronage and recommendation knowing that those values are important to this small business. read more

Late review (forgot to finish when I originally started lol). Women owned and operated is what attracted me bc if given the opportunity I will definitely support groups who are in minority for their line of work. I made an appointment online and found that there was a coupon on the website! It was a quick appointment which I appreciated and since it was cold that morning they put out a chair in the sun for me to sit and bask in. I've already recommended a few friends in Irvine to come here! read more
