    Not quite a cappuccino.

I used to buy coffee at Society Cafe when it first opened and was a fan of its layout, its meeting spaces and its overall vibe. I also liked the friendly owner, who was often on-hand to make sure everything was tip-top. I stopped drinking at Society because it became 'ordinary', and by that I mean similar to other coffee shops: massive cups, strong coffee, poor milk foam and much too hot to have been prepared properly. But I like to revisit places to see what's changed, and in Society, it appears only the faces of the people who work here are different. It still has a nice, relaxed vibe, especially in the morning, and the place still looks nice. However, despite being able to choose a cup size (8oz instead of 10oz), my cappuccino was still a roaring hot flat white, and I was still charged £2.60 for the smaller cup. I'll try again in another year!

Lovely coffee and spacious surroundings. Why on earth would anyone go to Starbucks?

A Long weekend of nostalgia took me back to Bath for a wander and epic game of "What's Changed". While some of my favourite places are long gone (Popjoys has been replaced by an Italian restaurant that thinks it's cool to project the colours of the Italian flag on Beau Nash's old haunt...sob!) the coffee revolution is alive and well. Society Cafe is one of the best local examples in my opinion, serving great, rich, well-made coffee along with obligatory Shoreditch-esque interior of exposed floor boards and rough wood benches and stools. The guys who served us were knowledgeable, friendly and even treated us like old friends when we returned twice in the same day (the free WiFi allowed us to continue to irritate friends and family with oodles of snaps). It's clearly also a favourite with the local student population who used the notice boards in the basement lounge area to share flyers for everything from gigs to the next big matches. In short - a great place to catch up. I'll be back.

What a find! Stumbling 'round Bath on Sunday, desperate for some refreshment (it was a Sunday in December; Bath was packed and long queues everywhere). So I thought we'd try leaving the main drag to see what was there. And to be honest, it's about 50 yards from the throngs in the shopping area, but 50 yards too far for most people to bother looking. But I'd walk a lot further than 50 yards to visit this place. I can honestly say, this is the best coffee I have tasted. Bit of a back story here, if you're read any of my other reviews, you may have picked up on the fact that my Wife is lactose and gluten intolerant, so eating out can (and usually is) be a bit of a problem. Well, brownie points right from the start, not only did they have a cake she could eat, they had more than 1! A choice!! That is very rare. The staff were excellent, they knew about the coffee and cakes they were serving and were very friendly. As I've said the coffee was fantastic and the cakes were really luscious. I can eat anything and everything, so I had the Coffee and Walnut cake. Excellent. I don't get to Bath that often, but I'm going to make a Beelline for this place next time I go. Go there. You won't be disappointed.

Cool, clean, crisp coffee shop with great service and a nice selection of coffees and teas. Baked yummies are great. Good location and perfect wifi.

I found this cafe around the corner from my hotel. Very good coffee, with pastries, juice, etc. Tables outside on Kingsmead Square.

Excellent coffee and chocolate. Friendly staff and cool vibe. Highly recommended! 2 locations in Bath, both equally as good.

This place is great! It is as good as any coffee I've had in the UK. Definitely the best in Bath. Great vibe and friendly staff. Recommend!

The cafe is a hole in the wall with communal seating and a few other tables inside and some outside. It's a bit packed inside but still quite charming with all the mismatched colorful decor. The service was sweet and efficient. Once seated, we were provided the menus and had our orders taken. The food came out fast and we paid at the front. I don't normally eat breakfast and got the Granola. It was fine--your typical yogurt, granola, and berries. It was tart, crunchy, and sweet--they provide a side of honey. I had half and gave the rest away because I wasn't hungry. Also ordered were the Bubble and Squeak and Fruit Pancakes. Oh my gosh, I had multiple bites of the Bubble and Squeak because it was so good! If I were hungrier I'd order this for myself. It's a delicious harmony of savory filling goodness. Loved the mashed potatoes and all the proteins. Highly recommend! Wild Cafe is an affordably delicious spot for all-day breakfast and brunch. Found on a corner in Bath off Queen Street, it's a must for yummy food!

The portions are large and the food is crazy. Good. We went in there and ordered nice big plates of food and wound up sharing them with each other because everybody got something different. I was so pleased that while I was eating off of someone else's plate that they were enjoying the food off of mine at the same time. Plan ahead for when you're gonna get there. I recommend that one hour to 30 minutes before they close get your order in and that's a sure far away to get you to the head of the line at the end of the day.

We were hungry, but most places had already rolled up the welcome mat and were closed the day. The prospect of facing the 90 minute train back to London with empty stomachs was not appealing! Fortunately Jacob's was still open and serving, and although it was only 10 minutes till closing time, they kindly stirred us our hot paninis in their upstairs dining area. Upstairs a number of people were having coffee or dinner, some on their laptops, so we were not alone in having a leisurely meal even though it went past their official 7 PM time to close. Although the furnishings are coffee shop Spartan, everything was clean and comfortable. I had the ham and cheese panini, which was delicious; my wife had the vegetarian panini, with artichoke and goat cheese, which she really enjoyed. Both paninis were around 5 pounds, pretty reasonable. As a bonus, for a small amount they threw in a slice of passionfruit carrot cake, which topped the meal off nicely! Great place for a quick late meal in Bath before heading home!

You can certainly grab a slice of that (and a slice of cake) whilst whiling away the afternoon at Jacob's. We popped in for a brief stop off before indulging at the (new) Bath spa. Flat whites checked out, the array of cakes was plentiful and exciting, and the staff were lovely. It was a little hectic -- one can't really stand anywhere appropriate around the counter without getting in the way of a waitress, but it's no bother once you've paid and taken a seat. The carrot cake was more than worthy of a mention. It wasn't in the least bit dry, the icing was just plentiful enough, and it was stuffed with nuts and fruit. I even think it was crusted with shaved coconut. The pigeons will try their luck, but I welcome a little avian entertainment. They're really cute, friendly, and will help polish off the crumbs if you're inoffensive about it. You'll also have a great view of the cathedral if you sit outside. Gorgeous little spot.

They also serve coffee and make specialty drinks, juices and smoothies. I stopped in to get a smoothie to have while walking around town. They had a few different flavor combinations but I decided to go with the berry smoothie. The kind gentleman at the counter took my order and I looked around while I waited. They had many foods sitting out on the side, it looked like you could choose a main and some sides yourself for a specified price. The food all looked very good. The smoothie was fine, unfortunately it wasn't cold which was the thing I wanted most. This may just be a thing in Europe but for me, I like a cold smoothie. They have several tables outside to sit and enjoy your food. There is also seating on the second floor of the eatery. The wait was a little long, about 10 minutes for two smoothies. There was no other food or drinks that came out of the kitchen so I am not quite sure why it took that long. Wasn't a terrible wait, but there was nowhere to sit while waiting.
