Lovely place and service, excellent quality sandwiches

Lovely place overlooking the river and cascades at Pulteney bridge, we sat outside in the sun, nice well made sandwiches, excellent local beer and cider, lovely and friendly service; however it took 30 min to being served!

View from the outdoor terrace and my delicious single latte.

The cafe is a hole in the wall with communal seating and a few other tables inside and some outside. It's a bit packed inside but still quite charming with all the mismatched colorful decor. The service was sweet and efficient. Once seated, we were provided the menus and had our orders taken. The food came out fast and we paid at the front. I don't normally eat breakfast and got the Granola. It was fine--your typical yogurt, granola, and berries. It was tart, crunchy, and sweet--they provide a side of honey. I had half and gave the rest away because I wasn't hungry. Also ordered were the Bubble and Squeak and Fruit Pancakes. Oh my gosh, I had multiple bites of the Bubble and Squeak because it was so good! If I were hungrier I'd order this for myself. It's a delicious harmony of savory filling goodness. Loved the mashed potatoes and all the proteins. Highly recommend! Wild Cafe is an affordably delicious spot for all-day breakfast and brunch. Found on a corner in Bath off Queen Street, it's a must for yummy food!

The portions are large and the food is crazy. Good. We went in there and ordered nice big plates of food and wound up sharing them with each other because everybody got something different. I was so pleased that while I was eating off of someone else's plate that they were enjoying the food off of mine at the same time. Plan ahead for when you're gonna get there. I recommend that one hour to 30 minutes before they close get your order in and that's a sure far away to get you to the head of the line at the end of the day.

We were hungry, but most places had already rolled up the welcome mat and were closed the day. The prospect of facing the 90 minute train back to London with empty stomachs was not appealing! Fortunately Jacob's was still open and serving, and although it was only 10 minutes till closing time, they kindly stirred us our hot paninis in their upstairs dining area. Upstairs a number of people were having coffee or dinner, some on their laptops, so we were not alone in having a leisurely meal even though it went past their official 7 PM time to close. Although the furnishings are coffee shop Spartan, everything was clean and comfortable. I had the ham and cheese panini, which was delicious; my wife had the vegetarian panini, with artichoke and goat cheese, which she really enjoyed. Both paninis were around 5 pounds, pretty reasonable. As a bonus, for a small amount they threw in a slice of passionfruit carrot cake, which topped the meal off nicely! Great place for a quick late meal in Bath before heading home!

You can certainly grab a slice of that (and a slice of cake) whilst whiling away the afternoon at Jacob's. We popped in for a brief stop off before indulging at the (new) Bath spa. Flat whites checked out, the array of cakes was plentiful and exciting, and the staff were lovely. It was a little hectic -- one can't really stand anywhere appropriate around the counter without getting in the way of a waitress, but it's no bother once you've paid and taken a seat. The carrot cake was more than worthy of a mention. It wasn't in the least bit dry, the icing was just plentiful enough, and it was stuffed with nuts and fruit. I even think it was crusted with shaved coconut. The pigeons will try their luck, but I welcome a little avian entertainment. They're really cute, friendly, and will help polish off the crumbs if you're inoffensive about it. You'll also have a great view of the cathedral if you sit outside. Gorgeous little spot.

Mediterranean veggie was surprisingly delicious and the bread fresh. Super nice staff. With the option to sit outside on the square or upstairs with a view of the square. Lattes with love! They also serve coffee and make specialty drinks, juices and smoothies. I stopped in to get a smoothie to have while walking around town. They had a few different flavor combinations but I decided to go with the berry smoothie. The kind gentleman at the counter took my order and I looked around while I waited. They had many foods sitting out on the side, it looked like you could choose a main and some sides yourself for a specified price. The food all looked very good. The smoothie was fine, unfortunately it wasn't cold which was the thing I wanted most. This may just be a thing in Europe but for me, I like a cold smoothie. They have several tables outside to sit and enjoy your food. There is also seating on the second floor of the eatery. The wait was a little long, about 10 minutes for two smoothies. There was no other food or drinks that came out of the kitchen so I am not quite sure why it took that long. Wasn't a terrible wait, but there was nowhere to sit while waiting.

The space itself has a hipster casual vibe, which is definitely a scene I'm comfortable in. Lots of wood and dark colors and fun light fixtures, there's even a few tables outside (but good luck snagging those during even remotely nice weather!). It's a relaxed atmosphere that's great for groups of friends, breakfast dates, or solo travelers looking to hide in a corner and study. If you're a fan of a bloody mary, definitely be sure to get one here! Unfortunately, in my opinion, both the food and the service were tremendously disappointing. I'll start with the former: I ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast that comes with a fried egg, grilled halloumi, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomato, spinach and hashbrowns. According to the menu, there's also unlimited toast and tea (or americano) when no substitutions, but neither of those options were apparently available to me. The food itself was plentiful, but unmemorable (and bland) compared to similar breakfasts I've had elsewhere. And the staff was, for lack of a kinder word, rude. Dismissive, too. It was actually the worst service I had during my entire trip, and it stinks when a place stands out for that, but that's what I'm gonna remember from SSBD.
