TOWN HALL MEETING The Future of Learning One of City of Quincy's Newest Elected School Committee's Member Elected in 2025 and Sworn in January 2026 "TOM LEUNG", Presented this very informative and extremely helpful information about the Rules of Artificial Intelligence in the Quincy School System and what Software and Rules the Quincy Student uses and what it Records about them! Their parents have yet to be asked what they want for their child to use in the School System. This night was dedicated to all Patents, Educators, Students, Neighbors and anyone who might want to participate and understand what "A.I." Can Do and Will Do! This Open Forum that Tom Leung has worked hard to shine a light on "A.I., to inspire questions and concerns about "AI", in the Cities School System. With sharing questions and ideas and maybe get some clarity on A.I. Tom Leung, was instrumental in contacting and bringing to this A.I. Forum and to his audience last night, a well known Quincy Resident and Chair of the Policy Committee for the AMERICAN SOCIETY For A.I., RUSS WILCOX with 20 years experience in this field! A Policy Maker for Heads of State, talked and discussed to all of us with facts and data shown on wide screen to highlight the importance of "A.I.", and its implications and importance! Mr. Wilcox has shown with his demonstration how this technology in the hands of our children what it can do! His enthusiasm and his passion to make all of us learn from his own experiences and teachings were immeasurable. Watching him interact with the audience especially from a very intelligent 12 year old who asked a question. She impressed me so much by her knowledge of A.I., since she already has incorporated and knows more about A.I. than myself. I noticed that it put a huge smile on Russ Wilcox's face! These children are our future and for them to grasp and learn what A.I. can and will do, will continue to change the world! The Forum lasted almost two hours but the long lasting information that Russ Wilcox gave to the audience will last forever! A big "Thank You", to Quincy School Committee Member, TOM LEUNG! "Thank you", to Russ Wilcox for his in-depth dive into the World of A.I. Let's Start a Conversation!

Okay, lets get started. So, I was selected to do my civic duty of Jury Duty this past week at Dedham District Court. Yay!! Not really. Anyways it was the day after the major snowstorm and I called the night before to make sure that I was still on for Jury Duty, which of course I was. I got there at 8am, parked in the rear of the building going through the exit (which I didn't know at the time because it was covered in snow). When I got inside the place was packed with people. The Court Officers were very pleasant and nice. We watched a video on Jury Duty and than the Judge came in and welcomed and thanked us for being there. She informed us that her case would not be heard today and that the majority of people would go home. I didn't get to, instead the remanding people went over to the district courthouse. Went into two cases and wasn't selected for either, and then we were released from our duties. Pros: Super friendly staff and Court officers. WiFi in the Registry of Deeds building. Paid day off (for me at least). Cons: Paying for parking. No WiFi once inside the District Courthouse. Not much fun.

The infrastructure is nothing to write home about but there are near daily activities for children, an excellent array of books on hand and more museum passes than you could shake a stick at... all things that combine for a great library going experience. The staff are cheerful, the late fees are lenient and the patrons friendly. It's the kind of place where fellow borrowers will be thrilled when you put them on to Huxley after seeing them checking out Orwell. Sharon Public Library is a quaint and restorative athenaeum.

You can hear their entire conversations, all the time, and despite them working here, they seem to have no clue about their loud voices. Good luck focusing on anything while at the computer terminal as the librarians behind you are in full blast mode seemingly oblivious to the people around them trying to focus, very frustrating. Don't ask for change for the copy machine as the librarian at the front desk became extremely snarky about how the library is not supposed to make any change for anyone at anytime. I was seeking change for a $1 to make some copies, but live and learn... It's doesn't get any better at the front desk of the library where the workers sometimes walk around, being helpful, but again so incredibly loud that you can clearly hear them from the opposite end of the 1st floor. It's not only the librarians that are loud, it's the people in there and the library staff very rarely ask anyone to quiet down. The librarians will go above and beyond to be of assistance, but this library is best off being not visited especially if you hope for a quiet atmosphere.
