The one we were greeted with was friendly and had a fun sense of humor. Once inside, you check in at a kiosk (side note, if you have an appointment, you check in from your phone when you park). You receive a number and are asked to be seated based on whether you have an appointment or not. There is a bathroom, which was clean. The air in the waiting room was nice (not stuffy or hot). When your number is called, you go to a window to be helped. Please be patient as there are only a few people taking care of many and the time slots are limited. The lady that helped us gave us bad news, yet everything we needed to correct my application and set us up with an appointment to do so.

I haven't had the pleasure of visiting any SSA building before today, but it reminded me of mini DMV, with the lobby of chairs, a kiosk, and monitor screens displaying next in line lottery numbers. Now serving #### at window #. Making the appointment was easy, however a 120+ minute phone hold time needs improvement. I called in to request duplicate paperwork and left the phone on speaker to run errands while waiting in the hold queue. Two...hours...later...a friendly voice greeted me and was very helpful and thorough with answering questions. While setting an SSA appointment the rep discovered an error and determined the root cause. Since their system had my phone and email info, I received reminders and information including an advance check-in weblink for when we arrived. I followed the link instructions and promptly received my ticket number before we got out of the car. There were a couple of people inside the lobby among the rows of seats towards the right when entering. The information TV screens and kiosk were to the left. Office SSA reps worked behind glass and each space provided two chairs with partitions separating customers for semi-privacy. We spent less than 5 minutes in the lobby after checking in online from the parking lot. Our SSA rep was friendly and helpful, answering questions and providing reasonable expectations of next steps after concluding the appointment in roughly 30 minutes to resolve why we needed to stop by in person. If you have an online account. I'd highly recommend taking that route, but if you must go the SSA office, be ready to endure the steps for making an appointment and be prepared with all necessary documents.

That does not give your employees the right to hang up on us after we have been on hold for hours, been calling for days and days and to finally get someone on the phone and while your talking they just hang up. Not once, not twice but three times this has happened to me. That is wrong and I mean wrong. They have no consequences for their actions. Somehow someway all calls should be recorded and able to access it. They have hired a bunch of rude, don't know what they talking about with bad attitudes. I hope every IRS and any other inbound customer service employee get exactly what they do to others when they need it the most. IRS is making many mistakes when hiring people but they don't make a mistake with giving you your money on time. Pay attention to who you hire because the IRS is suppose to represent much more integrity then they currently have. I give the IRS a double negative no star rating.

Jury duty was a good learning experience. The whole process was very well organized, and I felt…read moreproud to be doing my civil duty to give someone a right to a fair trial. I would want to be treated with that dignity. I was selected to be in an initial pool of 71 jurors for a long trial. We spent two days on the 19th floor, listening to the judge. Explain the law explain the charges, and then have detailed questions asked of each of us regarding our biases and the questions pertaining to the law and the trial itself. Then the prosecutor and the defense team asked us questions And they selected the 12 people plus for alternates on Tuesday. The two days that I spent there were worth it. There's a cafeteria on the third floor where the jury room is and you can get plenty of snacks there and fresh water. They give you plenty of breaks and sometimes the lunch hours can be really long, depending upon what The attorneys need. Our second day we had a 2 1/2 hour lunch break before we came back and they let all of us go that weren't selected. Plenty of time and places to eat lunch or you can bring your own and eat in their cafeteria or outside while you're enjoying your break. You can find parking for $15 a day or you can park a mile away and escape the meters and just walk in for free. And of course there's always public transportation if you have a lot of extra time on your hands. They also have a small lounge with vending machines with snacks and drinks and a microwave and a refrigerator for the daily use of all the jurors.

I tried to retrieve a R.O. on at least two occasions and was denied. And I'm a smart and savvy writer. What they do is take your experience and capture it in the way "the judge" will respond favorably. I also conjecture that judges assume the Justice Center has properly vetted the client for experience fidelity. I had actual documentation to support the r.o. and did ask was the r.o. valid. The belief is, if you are in danger... danger can escalate quickly and if you need help, you come here. The services range from housing support, phone support, legal paperwork, counseling, immigration, a listening ear. I thought I was rambling but essentially the attorney was listening and crafted the ramblings into sense which supported the evidence. With no pre-done paperwork it may be a 2 hour appointment. This is what I can say. If a person is disturbing your peace through their hate, even if you did nothing for years-encourage yourself and do something now. It's too late when the perpetrator is beyond turning around. No one deserves to have ill effects of anxiety and psychological terror because a relationship has failed. Although I went for an r.o., other services like immigration, disability employment, Calworks etc. are provided. Facial coverings are required. Parking is on 11th and you will receive free validation. Walk-ins 8-3 but appointments are preferred. If you are in danger call 911. I appreciated the Justice Center more than the court facilitators because attention and listening were honored rather than a turning mill.

I submitted something to them in Sept. 2011 re: the Rebecca Zahau case and it took a year to review my complaint. Finally, I got my reply and it is a summary dismissal of all the facts that I so laboriously researched. In my opinion, there must be some law that requires the county to have a group organized to gather citizen gripes. Yes, that would be CLERB, but I would not hold my breath that they will go digging too much in the mud. The idea is nice: a citizen review board, which I give CLERB 2 YELP STARS for but the reality is that they are no more than glorified paper-shufflers with a fancy title. Citizens of San Diego deserve something with REAL TEETH!
