what the hell is the point of an appointment if you're just gonna get a ticket when you get there…read morelike the dmv. My appointment is at 11:30 and it's 12:30 and I still haven't been called up. What a stupid stupid useless excuse of a system. And to add everyone there seems to hate their lives like every other government building. They don't even call the numbers in order is so stupid, someone could show up after you and get called before you. In my case that's exactly what keeps happening. Stupid people and stupid systems i swear to god.

I walked in and waited 2.5 hours apparently just to "make an appointment" to come back. The appointment was 3 weeks after I initially went in. I had something come up and couldn't make the appointment- there was no feasible way to change it. It's 2025, there should be a booking website or something. I drove to the location, spent $6 on parking and waited almost 3 hours, just to have someone tell me to come back in 3 weeks of which I now have missed and don't know the best way to start this whole process over again. I'm a born citizen and just want to get my SS card replaced and it wouldn't let me do it online. Absolutely awful!

It was a bit tricky to find the correct entrance. So you may be circling the building until you find the entrance that is open that day. I've been dreading having to renew my passport since getting married and changing my name... so of course I wait until the very last minute to do so. Lots of countries consider your passport expired if it expires within six months of your travel date. Ugh!!! We were considering traveling at the end of year and decided to expedite my renewal. $130 for the renewal... an additional $60 to expedite! Geezy!!! Sabrina was the person that helped me. She was great, fast and friendly! I had scheduled my appt for 3 pm and was done and out by 3:15! I completely recommend scheduling an appt. Yes, they are hard to come by, but if one opens up. The guy who helped us just typed a bunch of things into the computer and made sure everything I had wrote down was correct. We were done by 9:11am. It was a pretty easy and painless process as we did get there early. As the other reviews had stated, you definitely do not need a personality to work at the office. The only one who actually had "life" in him was the security guard. He was very helpful and nice when people had questions.

For older people with memory problems, USCIS officers should show more compassion and understanding…read moreduring interviews. Elderlies went through theirs recently, and it broke my heart to see how difficult it was made for them. Instead of asking simple, considerate questions suitable for seniors, the officer gave them some of the hardest questions possible -- as if forgetting they are already in their late years and struggling with memory. Not everyone gets the same treatment. Some officers are kind, patient, and truly human -- while others are cold, robotic, and lack basic empathy. It's unfair that outcomes depend purely on luck -- on whether you get the compassionate officer or the heartless one. These are elderly people who already have memory issues. The fact that they still try -- and even pay -- to apply for U.S. citizenship should already show their dedication and effort. The least they deserve is patience, respect, and understanding -- not interrogation-level questioning that leaves them anxious, confused, and ashamed. Give OLD PEOPLE some grace. Their minds and memories are not the same as younger applicants. Show humanity. Show compassion. Remember that you are speaking to someone's mother, father, or grandparent -- not just another case number. USCIS needs to retrain officers to handle senior applicants with care. The process should be about dignity, not intimidation. Treating people with kindness and empathy costs nothing -- but it means everything to families like ours.

SSA Read This Before You Go…read more First things first. *You need to know you need an appointment. *You even need an appointment to ask quick questions or you need to call the 800 number. *There's no walk-ins. Don't get yourself in a tither. There's no walk-ins. I arrived at 11 am on a Tuesday. There were four people ahead of me. I met with the agent at 11:20 a.m. My situation required a lot of education and I have to return. I am thankful window 16 was patient in explanation. I'm sure I'll have to come here a few more times but I did appreciate the efficiency: 1. I work in Chula Vista. I took the trolley and walked three blocks. I have no time to fiddle faddle with parking. But I can assure you parking is limited. 2. It takes 10-15 minutes to complete the online application from scratch to scheduling an appointment. You need an email. Remember your password. I scheduled my appointment in the moment and received several email reminders. 3. When you arrive to the address, you will see the immigration sign before you see the social security sign. Check in at the kiosk for a paper ticket or check in with a QR code for a digital ticket. 4. Wait for your number to be called. There is a visual board and there is also a loudspeaker announcement. Your appointment time means a range between your time and after. For example, a person may make an appointment for a replacement card. But then they talk to the agent about 20 other items. This makes that 15 minute appointment, forty minutes. Therefore your appointment time gets delayed. SSA attempts to schedule your appointment based on the request of the application. But we all know social security. We have 50-11 questions once we are actually there. There is a lot of space for mobility accessibility. Plan your time well. Bring water. Bring a book. Bring headphones. And if your benefits were stopped, it will suck but only for a period of time. Ask them exactly what you need to do to expedite your resources. "Be polite to our civil servants."

I think my problem is that as always Our Government has now changed everything to serve itself rather than the people who need help! One can no longer just drop by w a quick issue or question Rather U must have an Appointment--No exceptions! And of course this created a real disaster for many senio who require their assistance! including Myself & im not that old! I just found it extremely frustrating to walk into an empty office and I was there three different separate times from Chula Vista to the downtown and every time the office was basically empty. You had 50 seats set up maybe 100 and there would be like three people in them only! while many stood outside w/o appointments who were not allowed in! What a waste of staff & our tax dollars! Many of these people paid into Social Security and they deserve to be able to talk to someone without having to go through a complicated online system!! So upsetting! But I Know its not the staff thete but our CA government who will do anything they can to NOT spend our tax dollars to help the very people who paid into the system! I hope they start allowing walk in's again as they clearly are not serving all of those who need their assistance...

If you are a father and want to be in your child's life, going to family court in San Diego is the…read moreworst decision you can make. Unless you personally know a trustworthy family court lawyer, I would not recommend hiring any family lawyer from San Diego. They often work with the court against fathers. Women can lie to the mediators--who are most often women themselves--by claiming there has been violence or abuse without providing any proof. As a result, they may be excused from showing up, while those same lies are included in court documents to influence the judge. They are allowed to lie under oath in front of the judge, and even if you provide evidence proving they're lying, the judge often does nothing about it. There is so much illegal, unconstitutional, and unethical behavior happening--it's truly disgusting and exhausting, especially when you're a father simply trying to be involved in your child's life. I strongly urge any man to think carefully and make the right decisions before having a child. Let me know if you'd like to adjust the tone (more formal, more emotional, etc.) or tailor this for a review site like Yelp or Google.

DO NOT go there with any kind of expectation of being helped (especially if you're a male or identify as such). Unfortunately, going here to get a divorce is the only option.
